[REQ][PORT]Can someone please port this brilliant looking rom! - HTC Salsa

I was just going through these forums and happend to come past this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1458963
I just wanted to know if any one of youll here would be willing to port this, greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A port request has nothing to do with development and is therefore not appropriately placed in the development board.
Thread moved to Salsa General.

it is based on android 2.3.4 if we have roms based on 2.3.3 we can have overclock the fone

as much as it looks nice, its based on 2.3.4 as razor said....itll work well on my xperia x8 though lol. but im already using B.Jays GingerDX anyway lol
porting isn't easy..and its not HTC based....so even if its possible...theres nothing of use for this fone!

ANy word on if MIUI team is ever going to start it up again?
I mean, it's already a working rom on the inspire.
I have no experience as a dev, but would it be too hard to port it to the Cappy?
I saw a thread dedicated to it for the captivate but atm the thread is closed because progression on it was stopped.
If any of the MIUI devs see this. Please don't stop. I know donations and me bribing you aren't enough.
But man would it make me a happy camper to have it ported to the Captivate.
Please. I beg of you.
i here there is a version from the nexus s, maybe it can be used with a captivate cyanogen mod kernel?
I would think we will see this soon

[Q] [rom] will ever see this rom over here

i was fooling around at Desire dev threads, where is found this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016940&highlight=sense+3.0
as a nexus one owner really i'm jealous that non dev phone gets cool rom than we can easily have.
Can any one port this rom to our beloved nexus?
Yeap, it's right here. Link
There is alot more variety of roms in the desire dev section, this is probably because its a more popular phone and just as easily modded like the n1.
Even CM7 is more stable on desire, no wonk etc...
The sense roms are more feature complete and stable as well.
The time is soon where the N1 would have to be given up for people who needs these ROMS. Nobody will support it after awhile ):

i did flashed that rom but it has two things
1. it got glitches as it says it has
2. no arabic support
and the weirdest thing happened that it gave me an error ( no space left) on flashing it the second time !!!!!!!!!!
anyhow thanks for you reply

Onecosmic's ICS Port RC3 is up for i9000/b and vibrant and cappy will be very soon.

Code is back up, we're hosting there again now. Grooby's thread is not under control by us and anything he says/does is not condoned by onecosmic or his team.
We're up to rc3 now and the rom is much more stable than before, seems to be performing better and people are working on fixes for gps,it should be working soon. updates are on the google code pages here: http://code.google.com/p/ice-cream-sandwich-sgs/
The rom should now be flashable from anything, just wipe and flash.
Thanks, will give it a try

lol, hopefully someone is able to put up a new mirror for it.
xD
Seems like a very popular file.
CM t9 Dailer and cm launcher now as a flashable zip

This Rom is fast and smooth ,music player is perfect loving it, gallery work great too and there is a fix for root in the i9000 tread http://www.megaupload.com/?d=S67I9Q0L .front camera is still broken ,recorder.and brightness not working just those fews bugs to be fix and this rom is going to be one of the best ICS rom .great work onecosmic's..........
I really don't understand the vibrant dev community. Or maybe it's just a problem with xda in general the the belief that every single dev here is on his own to create his own grand master ROM and screw the rest (besides the big names like Cyanogen and others).
But when there is another perfectly good ROM out there, that is under active development and has already solved many of the major problems with the current code, and then someone forks the code and essentially starts over, it is a real tragedy.
"onecosmic," please work with the devs in this thread to improve the ICS build that already has months of work put into it, instead of creating your own:

Taking nothing away from neobuddy or teamhacksung, onecosmic did have the first ICS for the Galaxy S posted.

so you want onecosmic to stop working on the rom that allowed neo to even release ICS on the vibrant. Also he doenst have a vibrant, this rom is originally for the sgs and is ported over, hence why we need to flash another kernel. The problem with the vibrant community isnt the devs its the people like you that expect a rom that is 100 percent perfect and on top of that does your dishes and makes bacon
What you should do is go talk to neo about helping out with the rom instead of kanging cm and other applications. I swear his roms have more bloat on them then twiz.

Now that was uncalled for.
I understand that onecosmic was the first to build a functional ICS for the Galaxy S series, but that does not mean he has to be the only one. What's wrong with KANG'ing something? Neo isn't taking credit for anything, he's gave credit where credit was due.
I'm on neobuddy ics can i flash firs the rom and them the kernel or this rom uses a different partitions and i need to flash first the kernel reboot recovery flash rom/flash kernel and them reboot system

Passion v6 & v7 vs Onecosmic
What we want in this community is quality ROM's. No one has a monopoly on good ideas and we as users always benefit when we have more than one group working on competing ideas.
I tried and respect Neo's ICS Passion Roms. I've been using them since v5. v6 is a good daily ROM. v7 was too laggy for me.
Onecosmic's 4.0.3 ROM is much smoother. From the first boot. Brightness doesn't work. But everything else does.
For me, this demonstrates the value in alternatives.
Good work Onecosmic.
Try screen filter if you need to lower brightness

From my understanding, Neo's rom is still 2.X kernel while Onecosmic's is 3.X based. Different approaches I guess. Onecosmic is more than happy to help out with the Vibrant community, you just have to ask. I tried the latest and had an issue with the cpu staying on full blast and chewing up the battery so I went back to stock MIUI until he hammers a few other things out.
Nice way to turn a pretty thread in a flamewar, guys :/
Either way, does video recording works here?
And can I flash over Neo's ICS build or only over ICS?
I wish the OP was more informative...
So the OP says to first flash an ICS kernel.
Can I use the Vibrant ICS kernel here or do I use an i9000 one?
After installing this rom my phone will not reboot into recovery... is their a special way to get back into recovery?
Can anyone check if there mute/unmute issue present on this ROM ?
Anyone else have no service after flashing this?

[q] how i develop a rom/kernel?

Hello there!
I know it may be such a noob question but, anyone (dev) here can tell how can I start to develop my own ROM or Kernel?
I already read eagleeyetom's post about how to make a ROM, but it is not the same as developing ROM. I also read somewhere on XDA that ROM is made by a "kitchen", so I doubt "Can I use kitchen to develop ROMS for our Xperia X8? Or it is just for HTC phones?"
I would love to start developing like xperiafan13, lrakkarl, NobodyAtAll, Doixanh, FrogyFuneral, etc...
Can someone here give me a highlights about all that?
Thanks in advice!
Ohh...l can't teach you about development, but l know that is big differents btw people who write all new stuff based on driver's (nAa) and people who just portred other Rom's and etc... but every new developer is welcome

Following
I wish to follow this thread.
I too might become a developer soon.
I need to know it kitchen works on x8. I would develop a ROM for daily use with everything stable and great battery life. I don't believe we should develop ROM for HD gaming for our x8 since it has short battery life and more performative we make it, more battery it drains.
Whats up guys noone is willing to help???

ICS for Stock X8

SOMEONE please develop an ICS for stock X8 because since i can't unlock my bootloader i am twisted to the Gingerbread Stock version.
can anyone recommend me a Bug-free and stable Ice cream sandwich Rom for my STOCK X8??
i am searching for a great ROM a while,i tried all the CM7.2 ROM for stock.
Please try to understand the fact that it is nearly impossible to develop ICS for stock kernel. The best you can get is an extremely laggy ROM which is just a proof of concept where nothing works the way it should. devstaff tried but quit and so did troufiniou. The only way you can get a stable ICS ROM on your X8 is by unlocking your bootloader. Otherwise you have to be satisified with a themed CM7.2 ROM. Hope you understand.
i think people should learn to be satisfied, some devices which has better spec than our phone cant even get cm7 so lets just enjoy cm7 shall we
Ics is a lil laggy even on custom kernel , on stock is impossible to make it work.

where do you get the Android x86 4.0.3 please send me the link and how to dual-boot from it,i am using Windows 8 PRO (ORIGINAL) Acer AOD250
it is possible ics on stock but it will be so laggy
