Team Nyx
-- DemonWav -- Nushor -- Onecosmic -- PaulForde -- RaymondDull -- Trae32566 --
This ROM is based directly on the source code straight from Google themselves, the way Android is meant to be. This ROM is produced by a collaboration of many different people, with the main development being done by Onecosmic himself. We strive to bring releases as often as possible and provide a stable AOSP ROM.
We are in the midst of many changes and will try to have our source code back up as soon as possible.
We do not support anything that is not produced by us!
Team ICSSGS is now Team Nyx!
We have made lots of changes, and part of that includes moving our base from XDA to our own website. All information, as well as downloads will be on our website, but please continue your discussions and we will continue our support here on the forums. Please check out our site at http://team-nyx.com/
I was wondering where this rom went
Glad to see the team back!
Great
Keeping simple and clean. My style. Thanks.
Downloading now thanks guys

So far I'm liking this one. Very fast and minimal. My GPS didn't lock but it hasn't for any ICS rom yet. Still gauging battery life but seems to be on par with Slim. Great job!
Was this something that is released on Rom Manager?

Where is the download link?
There is no link in the OP, no links on the external web site.
Neither here nor there has any screen shots either, by the way.
There is a listed release tab on the navigation on that site, some features on R5 but no links there or here.

It's on the Releases tab. Click on the word "Dowload" and it will automatically start the download.
I made a nandroid backup of my slim install and tried installing this. I selected custom, and choose vibrant. It went through the install process, but would only boot back to recovery. Once there, the volume buttons were reversed. I tried re installing the ROM, but it would not being up the initial boot sequence, just went to the screen where it said installing vibrant. Once again, it only booted back to recovery. I flashed slim fresh and retried the install on this, but it still would not start at the beginning of the install process and it went directly to the installing vibrant part and would only reboot to recovery. I restored my nandroid backup of slim and I'm back on it, but would like to try this one out.
I'm guessing that I shouldn't have selected custom the first time, but I can't get it to start at the beginning to just install the base.
Any ideas?

It is supposed to start the install, flash a kernel, then reboot, and continue the install. Not sure why you had problems, but unfortunately I can't make a fool-proof install process, I can only get close. Flash back to a working rom and retry, you can choose custom if you want, that isn't a problem. I don't know why it didn't start the install automatically, but again, I can't make a fool-proof install process, sorry.

No problem, I'll give it a go again later. just thought I'd let you know just in case. Not complaining, just informing. The installer is pretty slick though.
/edit
Gave it another shot, but it still jumps to the installing vibrant stage. Still can't get the installer to start over again at the beginning.
Starting to think I may need to Odin back to stock and try again in the future. For now, I'm staying on slim. I'll try again when I have more time to mess with it.

Yeah, that's probably your best bet. But you will have to delete the stuff on your sdcard for it to start over from the beginning, it'll be clearly labeled with "teamnyx" (if everything goes correctly those things are deleted afterwards). But sorry for the inconvenience, man.
Great rom, runs very smooth only issue was aroma installer didn't install on its own it boot looped. Just pulled battery and booted into recovery and then it finished its install. GPS locks very fast only wish there was more customizations. Thanks for your hard work.

Had the boot loop issue as well. Pull battery and forge on. My only issues so far are sound dropping in and out in mx video player because stock wouldn't play videos I recorded under slim and the gallery not syncing with picasa. Other than that it's a damn fine rom!

Yup, that's exactly the same thing that happened to me, it did a boot loop, pulled battery went back into CWM and re selected the zip file and finished installing. Have to say the slckest install ever!
For me install went without a hitch, great interface by the way. I didn't wipe data, and all apps worked great, but GPS did not work at all. I got this:

Tried again wiping data, same result.
looking forward to trying this out! thanks for supporting our device!
OK, I deleted the referenced teamnyx files from my internal memory and tried it again. The installer DID start over at the beginning!
However, no matter what option I choose (AOSP, Recommended, Customize) the screens that present the options for kernel and other applications are blank.
I re-downloaded the ROM and tried again, but all of selection screens were still blank as before.
------------------------------------------------
AHA! As a last ditch effort, I moved the zip file to the root of the internal SD card. (I normally copy them to a folder to make them easier to browse to in CWM)
Rerunning the installer now and all the options are showing up. I guess I inadvertently messed up the virtual folder mappings for the installer by not installing from the root of the internal memory.
You may want to add that to the notes about the installer.

No GPS on this kernel. Tried the boot.img pulled from the ROM on other ROMs - and still nothing.

This comes up first in my log:
com.google.android.apps.gtalkservice has no signatures that match those in shared user com.google.uid.shared
Then:
Unable to start service Intent { cmp=com.google.android.apps.gtalkservice/com.google.android.gtalkservice.service.GTalkService }: not found
I've tried clearing dalvik-cache, pushing gtalkservice.apk to system/app/, fix_permissions from Terminal Emulator and Console (recovery mode), Later: reflashed the ROM, reflashed the theme, flashed another theme. Still no go.
Later: Wiped, reflashed ROM. Still getting the signature error.
I was running Dragon theme for CM 4.2.11.1 , with Enoch's Advanced Launcher (also for CM 4.2.11.1), and the 10mb ROM Hack. I can't imagine that these things would affect gtalk service, or have an effect on uid signatures, although I'd think the latter is more likely.
There are a few things that are dependent on this, like downloading from Market.
I had a similar problem yesterday, where I kept getting a crash when I would open up GTalk. Then I wasn't able to download any apps from the Market, it would give me a gapps.com error. I was on 4.2.11.1, so I downgraded to 4.2.9.1, and everything worked, then updated back to 4.2.11.1, and don't have any of those problems anymore.
Before I downgraded, I had done a wipe, reinstalled the 4.2.11.1 rom, cleared my ext2 partition, and none did the job.

Did you try wiping the data from the Google Talk app and service? That might force you to log in again, and may clear your service launch and intent issue. Just a guess. If you did a full wipe, it would also clear these (as indicated by having to log in again).
I fixed it
I traced it to The Dragon theme for 4.2.11.1 by going back to the CM defanged (I almost said toothless) base, reflashing 1.4 recovery image, wiping, flashing the radio, and flashing 4.2.11.1, then trying various themes, watching the log every time. The 1st time I got these:
Code:
12-29: WARN/ActivityManager(154): Unable to start service Intent { cmp=com.google.android.apps.gtalkservice/com.google.android.gtalkservice.service.GTalkService }: not found
Code:
12-29: ERROR/PackageManager(154): Package com.google.android.apps.gtalkservice has no signatures that match those in shared user com.google.uid.shared; ignoring!
was when I flashed the Dragon theme.

Please read the whole thread before you flash. There are a couple of BUGS!
Flash on your own risk. I cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to your tab
This is not all my own work, I have worked with other members to get this ROM working.
DO NOT USE FACTORY REST IN ROM, EVER, USE WIPE SCRIPT TO RESET IF YOU NEED/WANT, IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THE FACTORY RESET OPTION, YOU WILL BOOTLOOP!
kernel is provided by pershoot - compiled by myself - all kernel work is from pershoot here
first-time users you need to wipe! use supplied wipe script. Please read carefully, everything is here to get it flashed onto your TAB, if you do not understand what to do, ask, we will gladly try and assist.
Copy the downloaded files to sdcard (/sdcard/) and flash via ClockWorkMod
As always backup your data / apps before doing this! I use Titanium backup, search for it in the market.
Please read the thread before you report a bug. don't report already reported bugs. keep the thread clean. use xda's search feature
You need unlocked bootloader, click on link to see how to unlock.
You need root, click on link to see how to root.
Note: you MUST have Samsung Kies installed, or device drivers, for adb to work! It seems a lot of people do not have it installed, which causes a lot of confusion.
You need ClockworkMod Recovery (it is part of ROM Manager), download ROM Manager from market to install ClockWorkMod.
If you are a new to this please read this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1232664, on how to unlock and root your TAB.
Please remember that this modified rom of P7500, Some features will not work 100%, most does but there are going to be a few bugs.
Features
Honeycomb 3.2 Based on P7500XWKK4_P7500NEEKK1_NEE ROM for the P7500, it will report as a P7500 but it is a P7100. Cannot change it to P7100 then some applications do not work.
Samsung TouchWiz UX UI
allows OC up to 1.4Ghz kernel, based on pershoot kernel compiled to include the following modules: ntfs.ko, tun.ko, cifs.ko
Kies via Wifi works on latest Kies in windows
Zipaligned
Deodexed - First boot will take a while, so be patient, if it did not boot after 30min then force a reboot!
Voodoo sound improvements (Download voodoo from Market)
NEVER USE FACTORY RESET IN INSIDE ROM SETTINGS OR DELETE DATA/CACHE IN CWM. YOU WILL BOOTLOOP!
See second post for other items
Bugs
3g: SIM PIN Lock must be removed for 3g to work after first boot. If you have SIM PIN please disabled it in Setting->Location and Security -> Set up SIM card lock
None of the security features work, Lock screen, PIN, Pattern, Password. If someone can let me know why and how to fix let me know!
Camera currently is only 3.2mp. May Crash sometimes - working on it.
Please report Bugs in thread
Thanks to:
pershoot, for getting the kernel working! He is the MAN! He worked nights to get the kernel working on the 10.1v, with not even having the device!
SEO, He has assisted me a lot over the last couple of months!, if it was not for him I could not have done this
To the community that got me into this without them I would not have been able to do this.
If I missed someone let me know it was not intended.
Changelog:
1.2.5.v: VoiceSearch.apk - deodexed
1.2.4.v: Camera fixed - touch autofocus - seo

Latest Official buke2 Modem:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash modem modem.bin
fastboot reboot
YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Modem.bin
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TIP: Enable USB Charging
Code:
adb shell
cd /sys/class/power_supply/battery/
echo 1 > force_usb_charging
To disable it:
Code:
adb shell
cd /sys/class/power_supply/battery/
echo 0 > force_usb_charging
b.t.w. a couple of users has asked why not default?
I DO NOT LIKE THE IDEA OF CHARGING THE BAT FROM USB, IF IT WAS SUPPOSE TO DO THAT, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN ENABLED, but that is me, you are welcome to do it if you wish.
This is active until you reboot. Then you will have to redo.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TIP: IF YOU MAYBE LOOSE ROOT IF YOU RESTORE A ROM, TO GET ROOT BACK JUST DO THIS:
Code:
adb remount
adb shell chmod 6755 /system/bin/su

Great Rom
Ok,
Fist of all thanks for having this new version of android on my tablet.
This is how i installed the ROM.
Coming from your HC3.1 1.03v:
booted in recovery via rom manager
install zip from sdcard isi-galaxy-1.2.1v.zip
wipe cache
wipe dalvik
reboot
I first thought my tablet was hanging, for several minutes it was stuck at the samsung logo during boot, so i hold the powerbutton and rebooted. After that it booted ok. Maybe i had to wait longer?
But everything seems to be ok. Appearantly it doesn't wipe
For me this rom is beter than the previous since I don't use camera and 3g.
The Calendar app is now amazing, it is fluent like it should have being.
I will report back if i encounted errors.

isi, some things I found so far while working on my own build:
- keeping stock p7500 gralloc.tegra.so / hwcomposer.tegra.so + stock 7500 kernel make video playback smoother. way smoother than *old* replaced hw libs + pershoot kernel. (of course camera does not work and orientation is always flipped but that's ok with stock kernel) we should wait for new official kernel source and keep p7500 libs in the future
- FactoryTest.apk BLOCKS setupwizard. removing FactoryTest.apk and Factory.apk should fix setup wizard and non-working lockscreen. pls test on your build.
I don't have much time ATM to fix camera / seccamera / secmediarecorder. will do it tomorrow and will post the apk here for you.
cheers
EDIT: btw I am not 100% sure that choppy video playback is caused by hw libs / kernel OR nvodm_* libs. no time to check atm.. will do later or tomorrow

Thanks will wait for your patched files. I am no smali expert, would rather wait for you
[Edit] I can confirm if you delete those two files setup wizard works and lock screen as well! Great! Busy fixing....
Assistance needed: Someone with a fast internet connection. I only have a 512kb connection at home. It takes four hours to upload. So I did the change online. Hopefully it will work. It should!
Can you please test a fix for me. I did the fix online in the zip file not to upload everything from scratch.
Download this file. Do a full wipe and install. Post here if it works!
If no one tests it, I'll try that fix when I get home in a few hours...

I have no idea what you are saying, but keep up the great work!
Keep up the good work man , one question with you work in the future can we delete web os from the touchpad forever?
I imagine that's already possible. Use lvm to delete all the logical volumes not tied to another OS and then delete the uImage.webOS symlink. That deletes webOS, frees mostof its space and removes it from the moboot menu.
If you choose to do that, though, using the doctor to restore WEBOS will be even more difficult because you'll have to wipe out everything AND potentially need to "unbrick" your TP (using the method involving NovaCom, the small boot image ripped from the doctor and a string of LVM commands that is posted on sone or other forum.)
Lvm? Can you make a tutorial? How to remove webos from touchpad?
Thank you
Before this is complete or posted for testing, I think we will need a tutorial and links to files of how to fix the tp from a full brick such as issues with removing and restoring webos.
Great job if your boot loader works as planned we will have a full multi-boot device with a few restrictions(drivers for untested ports, etc).
Keep it up.

Awesome that you're resuming development castrwilliam! Can't help you with kexec though, sorry. I hang around in the Motorola Defy forums and some developers like Quarx have tried pursuing the kexec route in order to load custom kernels onto the Defy, might be worthwhile to throw him a PM. Would be great to have a more flexible bootloader!
I anyone needs a full restore, this thread helped me out. I followed the instructions when I screwed up and doctored without removing partitions. I believe WebOS Doctor handles repartitioning, so it should work:

WORKING (but non-Kexec) Android multiboot for TouchPad.
DON'T TRY ANYTHING UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THE WHOLE POST!!
Beta 2 Updated with support for my Froyo Qcom kang.
I created a script that can install multiple versions of Android on the HP Touchpad, side by side, such that they can be selected at the MoBoot menu and operate independently. The script modifies them, on the Touchpad itself, to work with the new names for the partitions.
I want your feedback on this installer. It is used in the same way as ACME Installer but only shares one line of actual code with it (and it also uses the same binaries and config files on the initial ramdisk image, but they are Open Source so that should'nt matter.) I'll be posting this on XDA in a minute, my username there is also "castrwilliam".
If you do choose to use (TEST!) this:
- You need to create a folder on your media partition (the one that is shown when you select USB mode) with the following zips:
moboot [moboot_0.3.5.zip]
(the rest are optional but I recommend using them all so that you can help me test everything)
Froyo Test [Froyo-2.2.1-Qcom-Kang-Touchpad-a0.1-incl-gapps.zip]
CM7 alpha3.5 [update-cm-7.1.0-tenderloin-a3.5-fullofbugs.zip]
CM9 latest nightly [cm-9-xxxxxxxx-NIGHTLY-tenderloin.zip]
CM10 latest preview [cm-10-xxxxxxxx-EXPERIMENTAL-tenderloin-FOR_LIMITED_TESTING_ONLY_CAM.zip]
2.3.x gapps [gapps-gb-xxxxxxxx.zip]
4.0.x gapps [gapps-ics-xxxxxxxx.zip]
4.1.x gapps [gapps-jb-xxxxxxxx.zip] MAKE SURE not to use 4.2 gapps!
(NO Android Recovery will work yet, so don't try. It will reject TWRP and CWM at least.)
- If you already have Android and/or Moboot and/or native Linux (Ubuntu, etc.) installed:
* back up any data on your media volume. webOS should back up your apps for you.
* make both a nandroid (which WON'T work to restore in a multiboot config, but if you go back to single boot, it will be fine) and a Titanium backup [which should be portable to the same OS.]
* run ACMEUninstaller and then run SmackMe-Installer.
* if you have native Linux, backup your /etc and /home (I recommend the lovely GNU tar and gzip/bzip2). That should be the majority of what to keep.
* ALSO uninstall any native Linux you may be using after you back it up.
* lastly unzip and novacom boot the SmackMe-Installer.
If you don't already have Android, MoBoot OR native Linux, just:
* back up any data on your media volume. webOS should back up your apps for you.
* then unzip and novacom boot the SmackMe-Installer.

Can i remove webos with this multiboot? And stay only on android and ubuntu?
This is strictly an installer. I was going to write a webOS removal script. However, android doesn't have the needed binaries. That leaves me two options: make another thing like SmackMe to do it or do it under whatever version of native Ubuntu you are running. Either way, I really don't want to have to test it myself. If I need to I'll have to doctor my touchpad EVERY TIME I do it. That's a lot of doctoring and a lot of flash write wear. So the answer is basically "find me a dev that wants to remove webos too. They'll either make you one or beta test mine." Sorry man.
Amazing keep up the good work castrwilliam !
Strange request
Hey, does anyone here still have the 2011 Froyo (2.2.1) system dump for Touchpad? It wasn't CM6, just something that HP accidentally released and someone over at Rootzwiki dumped. I'm posting this here because I have no account and they'd think I'm a noob there. All the links are down to it and I want to try messing around with its files, just for kicks. Maaaaybe I can get it to boot, and add support for it to the SmackMe installer, so at least I can have *four* versions of Android on my touchpad.

You know, 'cause I'm just that crazy.
Wow it's been hard to find it but i think this is the good dump:

sources:
http://digiex.net/downloads/downloa...hpad-android-2-2-1-system-image-download.html
it's alive! (sorta)
Somebody on XDA found a link that I thought was dead. It was the mmc dump of someone who had Froyo leaked by HP onto their fire-sale Touchpad.
FAQ:
"Obviously nobody wants this. Everybody's running Jelly Bean."
That's exectly why I did it. My point is to do the most outrageous and downright unnecessary things possible with commonplace hardware.
"What doesn't work?"
Rotation, sound, wi-fi, softkeys (i.e. Home, Back, Menu, Search.)
"What does work?"
Camera (OH HAYULL YA), touchscreen, battery reading, power button, volume button (but it dosen't matter b/c sound is borked).
"I can haz Modded Froyo?!"
Not yet.

Hah awesome work, I think you hold the record of most different OS'es on one device now! It looks quite functional already.
Oh and about the "Obviously nobody wants this. Everybody's running Jelly Bean." quote, I only run WebOS and your Ubuntu 12.10 port on the TP!
As soon as I get my power button sorted out I am on this!

Hey everyone! Froyo here!
I've just zipped up my Froyo kang such that it will work if flashed from SmackMe, and if you're crazy enough to run it alone, hopefully also Android recovery.
sound works!!
The Wi-Fi works now BUT YOU NEED A STATIC IP ADDRESS. (problems with dhcpcd)
The buttons are hacked to work (by my new shell script: /system/bin/buttond, check it out) as follows:
Volume Down is Back
Volume Up is Menu
Center is Home.
Obviously once the audio works (if ever) that will be an issue. My embarrassing secret (at least probably to the devs here) is that I don't know Java. That makes it difficult to mod on any touchscreen buttons...
The real audio library is /system/lib/libaudioflinger.real.so and the stub one (default via a symlink) is /system/lib/audioflinger.so. Using the real one causes bootloops.
Auto rotation still won't function.
Google Apps and even Facebook are included in this ROM. (It's not CM6.) So are some potentially geeky Qualcomm apps.
Don't set up your Google Account during first boot, because it will ask you to slide the keyboard open. That sounds pretty impossible onn this device. Set it up from Settings later, and you shouldn't have that issue.
UPDATED due to install issues with actual Android Recovery. Redownload.

I wanted to try froyo soo bad when I heard about those dumps last year (I think) lol. I still want to try it.
Now, if I read correctly, I can flash this from TWRP/CWM right?

It should work from that. I only tried with my SmackMeInstaller from the last page. That said... MAKE A NANDROID, because it WILL delete your current Android install, and if anything goes wrong (or even if it works but you see a CWM/TWRP error/warning), tell me and I'll fix it.

Ok, thanks!
Since I'm mostly a lurker and I rarely run into issues that someone hasn't already run into, I don't have the post count to post on the actual Dynamic 1.4 thread. But I'm a little stumped. I seem to have lost root, and when I run anything in SS I get multiple I/O errors referencing data/data/chainfire su files.
I came from knoxraid. Installed new safestrap. wiped. Installed 1.0 from SS then 1.4 from SS. Set up the phone. Restored apps. Set up my favorite xposed modules. All was good for a few hours then I noticed I didn't get a full screen call ID on a call. I went in to check xposed and all the modules were unchecked. I tried to install/update but it said xposed wasn't compatible with my version. So I uninstalled xposed and tried reinstalling. Now it errors on install with "Can't install, free up space and try again" I have plenty of space, but I noticed the last I/O error I get in SS refers to data/data/xposed something or other. So I did the whole wipe and start with 1.0 process over, but nothing changed. No root. And I don't know if the I/O errors are keeping SS from wiping system when it installs, so I'm wary about installing another rom just to see if it works. But I can still boot into SS.
So I'm not sure which direction to go from here.
The errors are:
E:error: I/O error
E:error opening '/data/data/eu.chainfire.supersu/logs'
E:error opening '/data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer'
" " " /data/data/eu.chainfire.supersu/requests
fix permissions didn't work. An extra error was "unable to chmod data/data/eu.chainfire.supersu/requests"
I can't access those files using file explorer in SS.
Well if anyone runs into a similar issue- I wasn't able to install any applications after that as well.
A wipe from stock recovery fixed it. Although it wiped a lot more than I had anticipated
Was the installation on the stock slot? That is where it needs to be. Get your post count up so you can join us!

Yeah I made sure to use stock slot. And everything was fine for a few hours. I really don't think it had anything to do with the rom. I'm leaning towards and install/enable/unistall/disable process that I was burning through on xposed, since the locked up files were su and xposed. And I had other apps downloading and installing in the background. I just gotta learn to slow down. Got everything set up today and it's running beautifully. I was on your Dynamic GPE for JB and it was my favorite. I gave the KK version of knoxraid a shot but got super excited when I saw SS had updated and I could go back to dynamic without odin.
It was fun now that it's fixed. I hadn't been into stock recovery since the old DX days. I didn't realize a data wipe from there took out just about everything on internal storage. Good thing I had the important stuff backed up.
I've been following your work for a while. And you sir, are fantastic. :good:
So my post got deleted because everyone was like "boo you didn't read manuals blah blah blah".
I did.
And I tried re flashing my system, wiping cache and everything else, but ended up needing to wipe EVERYTHING.
Also there was no Xposed-Disable file.
I just install xposed and rebooted and it kept booting up and when its on, turning off and booting again.
Dont hate, just tell where I could've went wrong.
Firstly you should post this in the general section this is for framework modules only
Which Rom are you using? you are not providing enough details
Xposed for lollipop is supported only on CM12 roms, I guess e.e, which rom are you using?
Well, i AM using CM12

had a bootloop, first hit on google was a thread on xda with these commands:
TWRP > Advanced > Terminal command
Create a file /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/disabled, which causes Xposed to be bypassed as well:
Code:
touch /data/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/conf/disabled
xposed on LP is an early Alpha, if you are not willing to take a risk, do some searching, then this is not the type of stuff you should be messing with.
just my two cents.
