[GUIDE] How To Use Search - HTC Incredible S

How To Search XDA Forums
Firstly you need to identify what you need to find.
Now, enter the ROM thread you wish to search & click this button -->
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now enter your search term -->
Now XDA has done a little of the work for you, you have to do the rest.
IF after exhausting every post that is returned from the search you cannot find the answer. Use the same technique that you just learn't to search the General & Q&A forums.
This time the button looks a little different. Don't let that put you off. Click this one instead -->
Have no fear, you don't think XDA would have an app that wouldn't let you adhere to the rules, surely not.
Just open your XDA App, hit this -->
then this -->
If your lucky enough to have a hardware "Search" button, you can hit that too.
Now if you still don't find what you are looking for. You may post.
Failure to adhere to the XDA Forum Rules may lead to a Warning and/or Infraction.

Would be nice if someone could make it sticky. Every second thread is 2+ time asked before.

I know you have hope that people would read this AND follow it
Wistful thinking indeed

If threads are more commented with there's a search function, the will someday give up to wait for a answer and had to search another forum or use the search function.

If you don't like it, Get away from this thread, I'm new in xda. Why should I search for this topic in other threads. Or stfu, and make a screenshot of your homescreen and post it!

If you had searched for 4 seconds or maybe checked out the themes section, you'd find a thread with 33000 posts.

[q] sugestion : Dividing forums

SUGESTION : Why don't XDA Developers divide the forums in subforums like "FOR GSM" and "FOR CDMA"?. I have a very hard time looking for Sprint CDMA information and have to go to tons of GSM Which is usless to me and time consuming.
Moved to Q&A, as its a Question. Please post in the appropriate section.
Otherwise I have to wade through tons of posts that are in the wrong section.
You would need to PM a Forum Administrator to request that, or post it here --> [Requests] Ask for new forums here
A wifi forum would be nice too.
They were dividing them, but due to something we don't know, they made it one forum for boths, asking the devs to tag [ CDMA ] or [GSM] into their title so ppl can recognize which thread this for, that is why you have to read the thread title
If isn't showing [CDMA or anything you look for] then this thread is not for ya,

Creating a CDMA sub-forum isnt going to make CDMA roms magically appear.
Use search and search thread titles for , hmmm "CDMA", simple.
Forums were split before but it created more problems then it solved. I very much doubt it will happen again.
If you want CDMA titles use search.

True- but it would be much harder to ignore the galaxy tab wifi if it were less of a footnote *sighs*
I am so utterly never buying anything from samsung again in my life.

Game word snake

Alright let's play a game :3
type a word, e.g Snake . the last letter is 'e' so the next word should start with e
Example:
Snake Ego other rape
*So, next word has to start with E*

The exact same game already exists, and you broke rule #1 so expect this thread to be closed in a few hours.

And off topic is not the place to get your first ten posts. Get ten useful posts in other sections of the forum, then come back and participate in games and other off topic stuff here.

Help creating new thread

Hello everyone.
I am currently creating a new thread and have some issues.
Instead of the link of the thread how can i just post the name of the thread that includes the link that directs you to the thread? I mean instead of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php blah blah blah insert the title of the thread and by clicking on the name to be transfered at the page of that thread.
Thanks in advance.
Seriously?

Thanks mate, appreciated.
Have you every wondered what the hyper link button does at the top of that box....
Our just Google bb codes, they are standard in any forum site
The faq for xda has a link to them...
Or just click reply on a thread with some of those features and read how it was written...
Try it with this post to see how to add bold font
