Hi everyone,
First of all, this is my first post in XDA, so kindly apologize if this is a stupid or an already answered issue.
Now that Fardjad has achieved to S-off the HTC Sensation XL, has someone try to unlock the sim?
I am not very familiar with it either but he wrote that is not radio s-off. So i don't think it would work......maybe i'm wrong but you can try
It doesn´t...
So, the only way to sim unlock the Sensation XL is by IMEI, isn´t i?

HI all, long time no post! Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas & a wonderful new year!
Right, I need your help forum, I'm getting a brand spanking new HTC Sensation XE for christmas, and I want to be ready to get to work on it ASAP!
A few questions:
1) How can I backup the whole ROM in its brand new state so I can restore the original software should I need to for warranty purposes? I remember way back I was able to do this to my Desire!
2) How easy is it to root & S-off? (I've had successes in the past rooting & S-Off'ing my old Desires)
3) Please can you provide me links for the relevant pages, link to S-OFF, Root, Backup whole phone & the ROM listings please?
thanks all & I hope to hear from you all soon
Arty.

I posted here as there are only 2 Sensation forums, the standard Sensation & the Sensation XL, and being as the XE is newer than the original Sensation, it should be more like the XL than XE, but yeah I shall also post there too.

Actually not, the XE is more likely to the Original Sensation as they have the same design, the only thing is different is that XE has Beats Audio and 1.5Ghz Dual Core CPU and Sensation has 1.2Ghz Dual Core CPU

its ok mate. all you need is in the sensation forum as no actual XE forum as joined with sensation. you will need to follow instructions to root the phone and visit alpha rev site to get s-off info. rooting procedure is all explained in the sensation forum. good luck mate...........
1. once recovery is flashed then can back up your rom there
2. not sure if s-off is available for XE but it is for sensation and they are very similar phones. think super cid also works for XE so can flash any stock rom if stuck
3. sensation XE forum is joint with Sensation so look in there

Xe is sensation just higher CPU clock, and beats native in the xe Rom, sensation roms work on sensation xe also. Rcmix for sensation works on sensation xe also, if you want some ice cream, sadly I have not had luck with it on xl yet, looks like we might need a kernel there

Thanks capychimp for your reply, on Christmas Day too!
To be honest, I'd rather hack away at the same software version that's already on it, which is why I asked if there was anyway to Nandroid backup the fone before its been rooted? I remember way back there was a post on how to do this with the Desire when I first got mine which actually worked!
So I still require the following information:
** links or tutorials on how to backup unrooted phone software
** links or tuts for S-OFF'ing & rooting
** link for site that hosts RUU ROMS (like shipped-roms.com for Desire)
Yeah I think thats it for now! I will be getting the phone by this Friday, so would appreciate any or all the above info ASAP!
Thanks, I know this is a big ask, and I cant wait to be dissecting Android ROM's again!

BUMP anyone pls?
As far as I know you can't get S-OFF yet. But as far as the rest of your questions go, just look in the forum all the answers are there...
Nandroid without root requires a modified recovery which we dont have so any non root backup for now could be done with Mybackup Pro or Titanium Backup
no S-Off for now
root guide & RUU are in the same forum you posted this thread ....

I said what I did because there is a couple of posts earlier in this thread telling you that you're posting in the wrong place and you acknowledged that. Then you continued to ask for help in this thread and your questions weren't about development they were about you asking where to find the tutorials for rooting, s-off etc which should've been asked in the General section... I don't have a problem and I don't want any arguments, I'm just trying to keep the section clean so people can find help easily...
Schumi 01 has kindly posted the correct forum for you to post in.

it has all the info you might need to get sorted. Sorry i can't point you to something more specific, but if you have already unlocked the bootloader, instal CWM and root, then perhaps you can try installing MaximusHD custom rom into your phone. Good luck.

Help me................
If what you have is stock everything (no unlocked bootloader, no root, stock android), your best bet is to apply the RUU listed in the link. I am not going to teach you how to flash these RUUs, plenty of threads already covering that topic in XDA. Please use the Forum Search to search for it.
Not mind.I want update my phone to 4.2.2 just. What do i?

Is your phone is factory unlocked?? Did you solve it out???
Hi all,
First of all hats off to all the contributors of this site. Really, without you guys, many people will be wasting money and wandering around for solutions. This site has amazing content.
So, to start with. I have a Sprint HTC One which says SIMLOCK enabled when i switch it on. and when I insert a SIM, it says some UICC code not set something..like that...
I am in India now, and I want to use this phone with the local carriers here.
Here are the details of the phone:
Model No: HTCPN072
UICC ID : Not available
IMSI(UICC) : Not available
After doing initial research on this forum, I understood that, I need to unlock bootloader first, and then root and flash ROM.
when i go to bootloader (press volume down + power button) the first line shows 'unlocked' on the screen. Does it mean , bootloader is unlcoked?? Please confirm.
All I want is to use this phone in India. I found various methods to unlock, root and flash custom ROMs, but I wanted to go with XDA - but unfortunately, when l opened forums for Sprint HTC One, I see lot of posts and threads, and the result is I am lost. I dont know where to start.
I know you would have answered many questions like this, I dont want to waste your time though so point me in right direction by providing links
I would be grateful , if you direct me to the right threads for this. Also please give me links where we have all-at-one-place.
Thanks again.

Ok read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244060 You have already an unlocked bootloader, so skip this part and go directly to flash recovery (I suggest TWRP)
The recovery will ask if you want to root
Finally install the "Sprint HTC One SIMunlock helper" from play store and follow the instructions

Please and thank you, everyone!

Click on the link (highlighted text) and read, read and read the first post. If you have any questions, you need to ask them in that thread since they are the most familiar with the procedure. I would also read through the last five pages of the thread to see what issues have arrived. Sorry I can not do any more, I don't have that phone nor have I unlocked a SIM.
In addition, there is a dedicated forum for the Sprint HTC One M7 and those folks there are far more familiar with the nuances of that variant.
