Hey everyone.
I am keen to rally up some support for a enhancement request I submitted on Apex launcher forum.
For those that don’t know Apex is a alternative launcher for Android. Here is the link to the pro version on the Android market:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...sMSwxLDEsImNvbS5hbmRkb2VzLmxhdW5jaGVyLnBybyJd
My request is for a tablet/mobile UI switch. The new Motorola Webtop 3 is a great example of how functional this can be:

I thought it would be great if we could all have this functionality on our mobiles. If you agree please go to the link below to vote: http://apexlauncher.uservoice.com/f...226-switch-between-phone-and-tablet-interface

Hi guys,
You know on the bottom of the Nexus One home screen you have three quick lauch buttons...?
[X][Menu][X]
I see in some screenshots in theme development where people have 5 icons on the bottom
[X][X][Menu][X][X]
How do you do that?
Thanks
download a different launcher... launchers are the general GUI for your phone....
Most people use either ADW Launcher or I prefer Launcher pro (i have the plus edition for the extra little widgets)
I would recommend you try Launcher pro first, its a little more polished in my opinion... ADW is an open source launcher and i think it has a lot of short comings and more bugs...
Yep. LP or ADW is what you need. You can theme both as well to change the dock graphics. I, too, prefer LP
LauncherPro is the best one.

Hello folks... I have been on the search for replacement home screen and maybe some of you have come across some new ones. I would love to find an alternative to SPB but all the ones I have found are not out yet. I have looked at all the regular ones like ADW, GO, LP and so on... I would love to do a review on the different types after I get a few more. I have about 10 so far. So lets start looking and list what you have found. Thanks!
QQ Launcher Pro, speed is good. Folder organization in the app drawer and comes with a lockscreen. Not much more to say about it other than I like it.

LauncherPRO is very fast, and looks very nice IMO.
There's a windows phone 7 launcher i was using for a while that i liked. Nice to change it up a bit.
If you haven't, I would try ADW EX. Its the paid version but is much smoother than the free ADW launcher. Use it on my XT860 and love it.
Espier launcher replicates iOS and is very smooth and supports lwp

If you don't mind, after you have concluded your search and have come to your decision, please post the launcher you went with and WHY. I am mostly just curious and don't have enough time to research all the available launchers myself.

How do you install a custom launcher?
So far here is a list of launchers that I have so far.
Go Launcher EX
ADW Launcher EX
Launcher Pro
QQ Launcher
MIUI Launcher ( like QQ Launcher )
DXtop Pro
He Launcher2
MXHome
SPB Shell 3D
Full Screen Launcher
Launcher 7
Regina 3D Launcher
LiveHome
Please continue to make suggestion and Ill start looking at all of these and make a video. Im hoping for some launchers that aren't on the market or more like SPB.
Thank to everyone.
Now that the theme manager has been into enough roms, theme requests are going to clog up these forums, but there needs to be a thread for tablet themes. It would be nice if someone could have two sections, one with custom themes and another of tablet UI's.
I would like:
• the ICS versions of Touchwiz UX from the new Tab 10.1 with launcher and widgets
• the Sony S Tablet theme and launcher
• the xyboard UI and launcher
It would be nice to see a collection of UI's from other tablets in one place.
Any help would be appreciated.
Download the beta 4 version of the latest launcher from the Go team which is called the 'Next launcher'. Looking at the features of the launcher i would say that its an amalgamation of the SPB shell 3D launcher and the TSF launcher. But the 3D look is awesome !

This thing use too many battery...................
i think sense 4 is more better than Go.
I am getting tired of annoying features of the Sony launcher, like "suggested apps" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/how-to-remove-search-bar-xperia-home-t3355603).
I'd love to get some opinions about alternative launchers with the following attributes:
* simple, uncluttered, minimalist appearance
* customizable, to make it even simpler
* esthetically clean and elegant (no graphic or color overload)
You get the idea!
Thanks,
JM
I have installed Nova launcher from October 1, 2014 in the Z3C.

+1 on nova launcher, been using it for years now.
Another vote for Nova.
Nova is nice, but Apex launcher has nearly identical features without requiring upgrades to the paid app. Plus, I think it's just a hair lighter on system resources.

Thank you all for chiming in! I installed Nova, but will try Apex as well and report back.

the launcher itself is great, only a few things, which are editable ( Disappear for example ) are needed. Tried the google now launcher and apex and were disappointed so i decided to mod the stock launcher to my wish
Nova launcher :3

And how did you "mod" the stock launcher? And what feature(s) did you mod?

Actually, when you dont know how to edit apks its the easiest way to use serjars xposed module ( Dont got the link right know, have to look it up and edit it in ) Requires root and a working recovery
Makes the whole appearence editable ( Icon Numbers in the Home Dock, Grid sizes and dont know what else.
Even the app suggestions are stuck in the past.
