i never answer these questions as a rule, but insanity cm with glitch kernel is a cracker apart from battery...good enough if you can charge nightly.....and camera....which is getting better...i use miui camera for the video and zomfx for stills.....this is purely my opinion though, i recommend experimenting if you are a flash addict!
I recommend stay where you ate and you won't get much trouble and search for some more stable rom's.
Hello everyone, It's been awhile. I have a SII skyrocket now but, still have 3 cappy's in the family. Anyways, I decided to upgrade my daughters cappy to the latest JB AOKP rom like I have on my skyrocket. It works but, it is extremely slow and laggy. I would like to find a JB rom for her phone that is smooth. Can anyone suggest which rom/kernel combo gives the best performance.
Thanks in Advance
P.S. I still think the Captivate has some of the best developers and best community of any phone.
Hello all,
Can someone please tell me which is the better custom Rom as far as features are concerned? I have sent my handset for replacement and waiting for a new one.. meanwhile I am collecting the material. I have downloaded the KA 03 rom but can someone please tell me how are the other roms? (RomAur v1.4.1 & TuRdZzROM v1.2.0) . I know I myself should test but I want just an experience from u guys..
This is a difficult question because there's no clear answer. It is up to you to decide which you think is best. For example I was a big cyanogenmod fanboy on my Xperia S but I also loved KA ROMs because they were so light and smooth. Someone else however may hate both cyanogenmod and KA, see what I mean? It's totally up to you to decide which is your favourite.
My advice is to try them all and see which you like best. After that perhaps you could share your views? I'd like to hear what you have to say
I was thinking about buying the HTC One. But after I bought my Galaxy Nexus, I really dont want to go back to anything else than vanilla android.
Is it possible to remove sense from the phone, if so, are there any guides ?

Please do not start question threads in the dev section.
You can install a launcher like Nova to get a more stock feel until someone develops a AOSP ROM. Just a matter of time there I think.

there isn't any AOSP based rom for now. Hopefully CM nightlies aren't too far away...
In the meantime if you don't like sense, some of the roms here provide a "de-sense" option that will allow you to do away with the sense launcher and use your own. That is what I did, using now Nova full time.
My Nexus 4 is coming in about 2 or 3 days and I plan on rooting the device and putting custom roms for this beautiful phone. I need help on what roms are the best in ways of Battery Life, Performance and Functionality which probably a lot of Roms do offer. I want to know from you guys what's the best Rom that fits into those categories and also the Kernel that's best recommended. I've been having my eye on Paranoid Android to use with this phone, but 'd like to hear more! Thanks for replying
A search would have told you that you have to try them yourself.
