How are is it to replace the power button? The cappy I have it doesn't work.

Actually if the soldering points are fine its very simple. All you need is a little patience since youll be dealing with very small and very sensitive solder points. You need at least desoldering braid and a good and thin solder tip. Be careful, right now im dealing with a Cappy that someone tried to fix that same problem and he ripped the solder contacts from the motherboard. But if youre patient enough youll be able to do it quite easily. Good luck on that M8!
So I have look into it and I am not waiting to try to replace this power button myself. I had got this phone for free and I am wanting to find out if someone can replace the power button for me and the hole housing and for how much? I am wanting to sell this phone with all that done if it worth the money

Call Samsung support. They'll ask for imei and just tell then you broke your battery cover. Then say you heard they sold replacements. They'll check and then they'll sell it to you for $16. Took a little more than a week for me to get one.

Thanks man! you saved my life. Just called samsung support and had them send me the back cover for $16.23 with free 5-7 days shipping.
I also asked for the warranty on the product and they said that it was till March 2012. I also noticed that the screen has permanent impression of the virtual keyboard on it. First i thought that restoring to factoring settings will fix it but no... I still have the virtual keyboard impressions on the screen. I think it is the problem with the digitizer. They said that they will replace it for free. Now I am gonna have a cool phone once it comes back from Samsung.
Thanks a ton for showing me the way.
Anyhow, one more question, My phone is rooted and is running a custom rom on it, is it still under warranty? I am sure there should be a way to unlock the bootloader and return back to stock ROM, can you show me a thread please... I am gonna search also but I want to make sure I am doing it right before i do it... so that they don't deny me the warranty...
Thanks,
Edit/update: searched and found everything. Returned back to stock. It's so simple with nexus s! Thanks everyone who helped me

Go to samsungs nexus s website, the number will be listed where it says support. You just talk to a rep who will handle everything.

Just google samsung support phone number. It will help if you register your phone on their website before calling because that will save you some time.

Sent from my R800x using XDA
If you need a replacement volume rocker try looking for broken Xplays on ebay. There could be a good chance that the volume rocker is good and just a broken screen, or something.

You linked up the same one I bought, Just dont replace the middle housing with the speakers and L1 R1 buttons, Use the same housing that came with your r800x , I found out the hard way... After re housing my phone Ive been without service on my device, theres a piece on the middle housing that is needed for the r800x to pick up on Verizons service. But you have the right item in your original post, sorry for long delay, I got pretty sick :/

I was able to remove the piece from one middle housing and put it on the other . I post some photos soon I wanna post a write on it all so other users can do this without all the hassle since I found out the hard way. But ill share you some pics here shortly, I got a few people I need to get some info out to also , I need to get caught up on my android work!
Sent from my R800x using xda premium
Check out the first photo where the back of the middle plate has a black sticker on it, that black sticker on the other side of it is a gold ribbon that goes into the housing and makes contact with two pins on the bottom end of the mother board.
The second photo is the replacement I ordered from the same link you posted in your OP. You could buy the one you linked and peel back the black sticker and super glue it back to the replacement middle housing, which is what I did because the back of the L1 and R1 are white on the new housing and the Verizon triggers are black on the back, looks better in white and in picture three I think I did a pretty decent job even though the photo does it no justice, and minus my thumb print!
Well this was my main phone till I dropped it and the LCD broke. So I took the phone apart and its now in pieces ( taken apart) its flashed with holics ROM ( can't remember which one) and it is s-off and unlocked its white and has a spek case and I also have multiple screen protectors for it as well so I was gonna fix this phone but need the money now so if anyone's interested it just need a new LCD and digitizer and battery and the phone will work fine I am taking any offers for it thanks

So I am having trouble finding replacement housing for my VZW Note 2. I have looked up and down, across every forum I could think of, and online on every retailer I could find and nothing has turned up. I have cracked the rim on my Note and would like to replace it. The problem is, I can't find replacements anywhere. I can find plenty of the white housings, but not the grey. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Go search ebay for "Note 2 oem frame" they are about 20 bux

Sprint one isn't work with verizon... Ad it does not have a sim card slot cut out.
Each version has a specific housing. You MUST purchase a Verizon one. Otherwise you could lose cell reception or damage the internals of the phone in some way. There are tiny little contact points for the radio antennas that are on the back frame. Each version has a different location for these antenna.

Seeing as most PS3 sites give me no response I figured I'd post here and see if the great xda community could help...
Well I bought a phat PS3 from a yard sale for 25 bucks, guys said it wouldn't take disks, i figure hell the disk drives out I have a spare why not. I take it home disassembled it and find the the guy broke the clamp for the ribbon cable to the mother board. So now where I'm at is how do I Gerry rig this cable into place, where it will hold a constant connection, any ideas?
O also I tried running a firmware update and am now stuck in a boot loop of update because it can't find the drive...FAIL ON MY BEHALF :banghead:

Yep it has twice, and has rlod before when playing uncharted 2. Since the case delete and addition of two fans (drilled holes on bottom below main ps3 fan and mounted a fan to push air to it) it has never overheated again

Damn right Lol, my ps3 that was thrown at the ground is pieced together. its an 80 gig phat, the housing is from a 60 gig, disk drive is a refurb off eBay, the power PCB(eject and power button and LEDs) was taken from a 60 gig Lol and everything else is original from the console, I find it amazing she threw it at the ground with a disk in it and the only thing that broke was the power PCB Lol the disk drive was borked because the original owner took it apart to get his game out and lost the laser doh
