Show us your favorite battery wowing wallpaper! Explore and share new ones!
To be considered a 'battery saving' wallpaper, it must meet these vaguely explained guidelines:
-very dark or black colored
-minimalist or very little design
-none intrusive / anything that hurts your eyes to stare at
-least amount bright colors unless important in contrast of design

Based on the the Bruce and Polkadots walls it looks like you have stumbled across my Picasa account or my post in the vibrant forum, because those are both my edits.
If you have access to my Picasa why not just share that, if you dont then there are plenty more like those above. Most of them are Black and White and heavy on the black side. The link is for my hot girls folder, but there are several other folder in the main account.

a brief tutorial on the basics would be awesome and most appreciated. i didn't know i had to long-press to upvote, for example.

This is a really cool app! Only thing I would like to see is working video and zooming of images without jumping to browser.
Aside from that, my productivity has now gone down significantly while away from my desk. So I suppose you could call this a ... success?

Glad you like it! I'm not sure if I can do anything about videos not loading (I think thats just a limitation of not being directly in-browser), but I'm investigating not being able to zoom images and will aim to get it fixed!

yeah some form of displaying the images natively without loading up imgur would be slick

I'm ok with not being able to view video's (I just click open in browser and then choose Youtube for the youtube links). However whenever I do that and come back to Reddita the right pane still shows the non-working youtube video, but the left pane loses my place with the links. So I have to scroll all the way back down to wherever I was (sometimes I don't remember how far I was down). Is there a way to come back to Reddita exactly like I left it?

Google/Android already listening? And can it be stopped?

I have been amazed before by the intuitive predictions Google search comes up with and I have even been grateful at times. I have accepted that they read my email (anonymously of course?) In order to help me with ads I might like... But today a friend was telling me about a book on a table at a friend of mines house, that the title was "the land of Seagull and cat" she thought. Anyway, for ****s and giggles I started to search for it but it predicted the whole term after I hit the "a" in sea. No other suggestions, just that. No text messages, email etc. with that term in it... There has got to be something processing my audio conversations and there has to be a way to stop it?

On my laptop I can talk to google. Has a lil microphone in the search box. Click and I'm golden.

I've also signed up for a program where it uses my past speaking as a tool to help it figure out what I'm saying. It collects data and uses it for me to help in searches, crawls through my accounts on the web and gathers data.
I'm more scared of the government than google. I know, I know, they can turn over info to the government. But none of that stuff is open. I use proxies and every few minutes I'm somewhere else in the world. My torrents may run slow, I might be slow on irc, but you know what, I'm not taking chances with certain info. I've been in the game for too long to slip up on something stupid.

Yep, I apparently left my utorrent running too long last month and they sent me a nice cease and desist email about having "game of thrones". Whoops, havent started it back up since.. pulled off all my music and movies and buried them in a portable hardrive in my sock drawer. I'd gladly accept suggestions on inexpensive IP security too lol

Look many of the high activity forums have this type of thread. And its to give those a place to talk/chitchat and other nonsense stuff instead of them feeling the need to post nonsense which in turn needs to be cleaned up by one of the mod's assigned to the forum.
The thread isn't going anywhere, and if you do not like it, then you can choose to stay away from it. Thats your choice and totally fine.
As for pointing out my join date making myself a "noob" versus yours of 2006.... if thats your definition of a noob then sure im a noob i guess. .......but, my history here and thanks ive gotten would say I'm far from a "noob" here in the community hehe

Lol I feel slightly embarrassed.
Only just found out how to access the 'menu' softkey (by long-pressing recent apps) after 3 days with this gadget.
The only other android device I've had - and still use - has its own dedicated menu key (yes, I'm talking about the original desire)
Back to topic, i can now confidently say you're all noobs, except me who joined back in 2012B.C. and knows how to use the menu key - its just a fact of life, accept it like a man...

Signed up on for the D&B shirts, which are pretty sweet.
Couldn't get the first link to work on my tablet. the website redirects me to the fb page but it doesn't have any content. iPad fail. I'll do that one when I get to my work comp tomorrow.

@Wired. Yea those shirts rock. I'd wear them everywhere, and supposedly they are from good material.

Also to up the stakes, if I win either the lens or the camera bag, I will sell them and donate half the money to XDA. With the lens that would mean $500 . I'm keeping the cameras if I win any of them. lol
