Hey Inc,
What is the size on this build? Is it 240x320?
So far it doesn't work with 240x320 sd install trying 320x480 now
I still got the wake up messages android won't boot
same
having the same boot loop issues as everyone else says something bout the volume this build looks good tho incubus
Pretty sure this is a kernel issue, waiting for a update.
Is it possible to use the new kernel that has the task switcher modification? Having the task switcher active after the camera button is held down for 1.5 seconds would be a great feature.
I hate to jump on the band wagon by saying me too but
Me too. I have tried on ext, sd and nand and it just dont work at teh moment. I flashed the nbh file and stilll nothing. I loe your work BTW and i will use this one untill the expresso build comes out when this one works.

Thanks your work ethic speaks louder than your work and both are excellent
Ok Guys, It should be fixed now. You will have to redownload and use the new instructions. Sorry for the problem. I know its a pain to have to start over.
Are you kidding, you're sorry? We're sorry you have to put up with such insignificant people as us! I just installed it, I'm hoping it'll boot. It's taking a while.
hey inc
I just installed Myn's update. like you said it is a pain starting all over especially after getting it just right. my question is Myn's warm donut is stable, and i know you guys work together so would you say this is better or worse as far as being stable, responsiveness? better or worse is the wrong words to use because you guys are so good at what you do, but since you 2 work together im sure you or him would acknowledge the better man.
So far so good, minor nitpicks but seems like a good progression build from msmissions 2.1.
The one issue that's standing out in my head is the SD card mounting. I tried to just plug in, drive / sdcard was not showing in my windows explorer. The wierd part is when I disconnect the USB cable for a split second the drive shows up in explorer. I installed dualmountSDwidget.apk and used that to communicate with my computer over USB, was still a tad buggy but I managed to get it working.
Also.... get rid of voice search, it force closes with your recommended .nbh / kernel, even if it didn't its hardly a feature that should be concentrated upon as well as wasting our phones limited resources (cpu /mem). I am aware that dzo's 4/8 kernel is the reason its force closing and it will prob be fixed when he gets back from vacation.
Overall I am happy with the speed and responsiveness. Nice bundled software / widgets as well, saves me a few MB of downloading. Just my initial impressions so far, will repost once this build settles down and I use it daily.
Do you guys have a IRC channel set up or anything? 1st off I want to learn more about the inner working of this project, 2nd I think it would help to steer everyone in the same direction with builds. I also remember seeing a bit of information on porting the vogues sound and bluetooth drivers to ALSA, presumably making it immune to changes that happen as android matures. These forums while great take a bit of sifting around the "will this work on kiser's" or other random questions that take time off the focus of the project.
what image size should i use
Does anyone know where the Gmail app is for this build? I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

Introduction:
Hi guys,
this is my first modded kernel for the SGS (CM7/MIUI only)
I first needed to test it to make sure that it'll be stable & boot at the first place
so far it's very fast & responsive & smooth
This thread shall serve as the center for my testing kernels (stability & functionality-wise)
DISCLAIMER: the kernel (binary) and driver modules are provided as is. If problems occcur they most probably are from upstream and can be fixed with the newest version. Since I'm doing this in my free spare time as a hobby (quenching my thirst for tweaks & performance) updates will occur irregularly as time permits and I see fit (most probably when new features & bugfixes arrive). YOU are responsible for the actions that you take (such as over- or underclocking), etc. You agree that I can not be held liable for any potential damage that arises from your actions in combination with or the usage of this kernel and other related parts.
Kudos:
* Google, Andy Rubin & the whole Android crew
* Linus Torvalds & the kernel hackers for upstream Linux
* cyanogen & all the devs out there hacking on this
* Supercurio for enriching our media experience of this smartphone
* codeworkx, coolya, guiper, atinm - the whole teamhacksung|cmsgsteam crew and all other hackers working on CM7
* laststufo, hardcore, nikademus, existz and all the other kernel hackers on the SGS forum
* zen-kernel team for inspiration to create a kernel, too
* all other contributors (devs, users, etc.) who make this possible
The purpose of these kernels is extensive stability testing addressing the following sticking points:
- overall stability & functioning of the kernel and phone
- call drops, missed calls, etc.
- lags (suggestions for improvements are welcome)
- auto-rotation, sensors, etc.
- Voodoo Control Plus [any crashes ? compatibility problems ?]
- working on CM7 or MIUI ?
- scheduler, sound, video synchronisation & lags: Tap Tap Revenge 4 (especially at the beginning of songs)
- scheduler, sound, video synchronisation and any other issues: doodle dash (while shooting & sound activated)
- proper pmem memory layout & settings: proper functioning of Google Googles

1500 MHz - 1.500v / -> That's high and many devices will fail on this frequency. Find working UV for you if any.
1440 MHz - 1.475v / -75mv
1400 MHz - 1.450v / -75mv
1300 MHz - 1.400v / -75mv
1200 MHz - 1.350v / -75mv
1000 MHz - 1.250v / -50mv - If you have stability issues, try to let this one by default.
800 MHz - 1.200v / -75mv
400 MHz - 1.050v / -100mv
200 MHz - 0.950v / -150mv
100 MHz - 0.950v / -200mv - (can be very different between two devices)
More volts is not always equal to more stability. Try to add more UV (less volts) if the frequency you're trying to achieve is unstable.
Considering all phones will respond differently to OC/UV, to tweak the values to suit your device will be required.
By default, no overclock/undervolt is applied. You'll need to use one of the tools below to adjust the frequencies and voltages.
Note : Never ever use SetCPU with this kernel. You could encounter many stability problems like random reboots or bootloops.

Description:
Modems play a crucial role in how much battery drains in standy.
e.g. if you have a good signal area and the modem still has high
"Time without a signal" indicator under Cell standby you still will get bad standby time
make sure you have little to no "Time without a signal" in Cell standby
there also somewhat seems to be a connection between "Time without a signal" and high "Android OS" number in battery use (!)
Following modems are only compatible with new radio (modem) partition layout:
radio-cm-7-GalaxyS-JVP-signed.zip (4.29 MB)

FAQ / Documentation
@bootloop / boot post victims ^^
Hi guys,
could you please try to replace the existing kernel on your MIUI or CM7 nightly CWM-Package with my kernel, modules and its scripts ?
then install that updated package (with the new kernel, modules and scripts)
after that all should work
the bootloops seem to be an issue with bml_over_mtd (broken sectors on the SSD on your phone)
I'll investigate this and see if anything needs to be rewritten and/or updated in that regard
Thanks !
Overclocking / Undervolting:
Q: I'm new in OC/OV operations so please could you explain to me how to set it in the best way?
A: start with -50 mV (delta from default value) other values probably are too low
my testing includes:
- Angry Birds Rio (several missions)
- Gun Bros (for some time)
- mp3 playback, (flac playback - optional)
- surfing the web via browser, opening up bit.ly links from cmsgsteam twitter feed
- watching youtube video
- watching video via rockplayer lite or mobo video player
- running benchmarks (Smartbench 2011, quadrant standard, an3dbenchXL, anTutuBench)
- Labyrinth Lite (for gravity sensor), auto-rotation (also for sensor)
when 1 GHz (1,2 or 1,3) is OK - go lower with undervolt value (e.g. -75 mV)
after it gets un-stable - go back to last known stable value
then you can limit max frequency to lower one, e.g. 800 MHz
and repeat testing for that frequency

LED Support FAQ
Q: Do LED notification require an app, such as BLN, etc ?
A: No. It uses Android's and Cyanogen settings, other apps are not required, although some that are designed for regular LEDs may work.
Q: How to I turn off LED notifications, scheduled or/and complete turn off?
A: Use Cyanogen's Quiet Hours feature (settings>cyanogen>sound>quiet hours) and check "Dim the LEDs during quiet hours" (in reality it will turn them off on the SGS). If you schedule a complete day, then LED notifications will be off all the time.
Q: How do I setup per app, find other LED settings etc?
A: Settings>cyanogen>interface>LED notifications
Q: What to do with LED color settings?
A: We have only one color, so that doesn't work. Use Green as default setting. Some non-bright colors turn off notification, as it's the equivalent as diming LEDs (note that on real LEDs if you dim them too much they look like off too anyway, the difference is that it's gradual. On the SGS the LEDs can be only on or off, not gradual)
Q: How can I troubleshot my system, I can use ADB but...
A: adb logcat | grep lights (on linux) will show you Android requests to turn LED on or off. "status" tells you what we decide will be interpreted as "turn LED on" (1= on, 0 = off)
adb shell cat /proc/kmsg for live view (or adb shell dmesg if you're using adb after the issues occurs - careful the backlog is limited in size so don't be too slow)
notify_led_on and notify_led_off are requests to the kernel to turn LED on or off.
touch key write/read errors (cypress) are non-fatal failures to ask the touch key to do something (eg lit up the LED), when the hardware goes crazy or there's a logical error in the code (can be both)
touch key recovery routine or "stopped responding" are either hardware errors, either a logical error where the driver would try to write something the touchkey doesnt understand. in some occasion lock&unlock fix those as a work around, of course a permanent fix is required
Voodoo Color settings:
Q: I don't have that nice ice-ish white color on my screen anymore - you suck !
Q: my screen looks like someone pissed on the screen - you suck !

A: I love you too ^^

Screen RGB multipliers:
- Red: 321*
- Green: 321*
- Blue: 429*
Screen v1 gamma hack:
- use Alt. settings
- or if you prefer others - use: "Reset to 2.3.3 defaults", "Punchy settings" (punchy could lead to a great screen while locking the screen and having "screen off" animation disabled)
other recommended settings:
Also a lil tip for people who use voodoo color!

2 ) Screen v1 gamma hack :

- 44 blue
3 ) SRB multipliers:
Red ="2300875360"
Green ="2300875360"
Blue ="2709919680"
With those adjustment, black colors are BLACK and white colors are WHITE. Everyone should try this.

Android OS bug, :
(thanks to ceriko ! and his awesome guide for DarkyROM 10.1)
If your battery drains very fast and your battery stats mentions Android OS above 10%, often between 40 and 60%, sometimes more, this is the best to do as far as I know:
- Remove the 2/3 system files as per the beginning part of this guideguide about batterie issues.
- Install WatchDog and open (I set it to "moderate", then I close it, that's all), this app will warn you whenever an app or a process miss-behaves by draining the battery excessively. It will not fix it but just flag it and you will see a notification.
- Reboot usually stops the drain for a while until it naturally comes back, so reboot whenever you see Android OS above 10% and rising or after you see WatchDog mentioning "Suspend" process using too much battery (the suspend process hanging is the Android OS bug).
- Some apps trigger it, most common are Gameloft games (blame Samsung, not the games/apps). No need to use apps or games for this drain to happen, it also happens straight after boot once phone has been fully charged.
This bug can not be fixed by anyone but Samsung. Some never see it, some will experience it everyday no matters what they do... It's just annoying and unfair but that's the same on all Gingerbread releases by Samsung (JVK, JVB, JVO, JVH). Apparently even the SGS2 has this...
screenstate scaling aka my governor won't change after screen locked:
So what is this all about ?
it's an init script that is put in to /system/etc/init.d
and switches between the configured governors in the script
depending on whether the screen is on (AWAKE_GOVERNOR) or off (SLEEP_GOVERNOR)
in most cases your phone is off - in that case it would be good to use a governor which doesn't fire up the cpu frequency too fast since you don't need it (no GUI, smooth scrolling, etc. needed while the screen is off - lol),
so conservative governor is set
when using the phone (screen on) it really depends on what you want to do: e.g. latency & smoothness is crucial: try smartass2, smartass, ondemand;
you're mainly browsing & reading stuff: try ondemandb, conservative (the screen is already burning enough battery so you don't need another component burning yet more)
only use one governor at a time
e.g.
AWAKE_GOVERNOR
# AWAKE_GOVERNOR
# AWAKE_GOVERNOR
SLEEP_GOVERNOR
# SLEEP_GOVERNOR
# SLEEP_GOVERNOR
that means lines with "#" are commented out and not used by the script
e.g.
# AWAKE_GOVERNOR
AWAKE_GOVERNOR
# AWAKE_GOVERNOR
SLEEP_GOVERNOR
# SLEEP_GOVERNOR
# SLEEP_GOVERNOR
also would work (intentionally not filled in any governors)

- conservative-governor ONLY (one governor to rule them all) - battery consumption + performance == win + win
- FIQ-console disabled (probably less overhead + battery savings)
- LED notifications disabled - only LED light timeout enabled (battery savings)
- printk time-stamps disabled (probably less overhead + battery savings)
- fixed HD Video recording + mic recordings (sound works again)
- "old" OC-UV-implementation OC until 1.3 GHz
- re-added Nick Piggin's inode integrity patches (2 of them) - (more stability & perhaps some saved cpu cycles -> battery)
- re-added several of the previously not included patches from quorra kernel-base
not yet included:
- fugumod security improvements (thanks to nikademus for sharing the source !)
- bluetooth l2cap powersave mode
- and many more

Troubleshooting & short-FAQ:
- WIFI & stuff not working ?
lippui94 cleaning script, then wipe dalvik, then fix permissions, then kernel - eventuall governor switch - , then wipe dalvik, then wipe cache, then fix permission
- reboots during calling ?
please report ASAP !
this is supposed to be fixed & a non-issue [if it's still happening try with different nightly]
- Radio (phone function) not working ?
new RIL kernels only work with nightlys > #12 on the SGS (including #12)
- phone is not as smooth as with previous kernel releases
yeah - sorry, might be due to the fact that I'm forced to use stock toolchain (less optimized toolchain)
sticking points to test & feedback:
- call drops, reboots during calling & potential instabilities
- general stability (if this also happens on stock: post but add a note that it's from stock - thanks !)
- BT & WIFI switching
- HD video recording & playback (is smooth for me during playback, recording with HD & Youtube HD works)
- mic recording, HD video + sound (tested & should work)
- iptables
- battery runtime
- smoothness

it's a different numbering scheme
kernel with new RIL applies to:
SGS: >= #12
CAPTIVATE: >= #14
VIBRANT: >= #9
I think ill stick with neo 3 it is the only kernel with working bln on miui. And is very fast and stable no complaints.
i just flashed neo 4 on lasted cm7 build. getting no service..
I just tried the old ril one and I had no service either on the new cm7 update.
Yeah, no service for me either

So far so good for me, flashed the old RIL on CM7 V8 and everything is working.
good on latest miui im running with UV its a little slow, does undervolting too much reduce speed or just stability?

BLN uses the capacitive buttons as a notification LED for when you get a text, an email, or something. In the newest builds of CM7, however, it has been disabled.

[Q] Touch-Screen with low sensitivity on edge and corners.

Hi guys. Well I recently installed Prime HD v8 (updating from v6 with everything fine) on stock kernel.
Alongside the Rom, I tweaked and installed some stuff:
-Odex
-Kgsl lib for Stock
-Overclock Module
-E15 Optimizer
And
-All In One Tweaks by ExtremePeople
-OC to 748 Mhz
What happened is that now I have low sensitivity on the edges and corner, it's really hard to pull up the status bar and to type the "space-bar"...
So is there any solution for such problem??
Thanks
My screen has always been insensitive when placed parallel to the ground. I got to raise 0.2 - 0.5 centimeters to regain sensitivity.
The problem is that when I was with other ROM (Prime HD v6) it was perfect, but when I switched to V8 this problem started... I can't post on the Prime HD thread (cause I don't have 10 post), but I didn't see any report about such problem. I will try downgrade the Rom, and see if the problem subsist.
do you have cypress digitizer? (real dual touch)
if that's so then maybe you are using ax8mt module not fixed for CM7 roms, get fixed version here!

Upon positive feedback to my initial post and several requests in the modded-cm7-thread, here's the thread for the development section.
This thread is about providing everyone with my CyanogenMod 7 Kang and the modifications I added to it. Both ROM and Kernel are compiled from source in a Linux environment. Note: This is by no means my ROM. My work is based on the awesome efforts by everyone who contributed to CM7. While initially I built the ROM only for myself in order to adjust a few things to my liking, after some development I thought "It's so good, I might as well share it".
Highlights of my CM7 Kang:
All CM7 commits up to September 25, 2012
Very smooth and snappy overall experience (smooth spinners, smooth indeterminate progress bar, different screen transition animations, some other things)
Enhanced audio experience (digital audio mixer, increased headphone volume, Beats Audio, more volume increments)
Increased battery life through kernel tweaks like writeback variables, underclocking, WLAN undervolting, and LED-button light dimming
Custom CM7 Kernel with battery-optimized smartass2 governor, additional interactivex and ondemandx governors, default SIO i/o scheduler (2012 version), battery optimized sysctl variables and many more improvements
G-key usable as a launch button for the camera app, as shutter key inside the camera app, and also as music play/pause key when the screen is locked
increased camera jpeg quality (pictures are ~ 1.3 - 1.7 MB)
Option to center the statusbar clock (not enabled by default) and change the clock's color (white by default)
Option to set the statusbar color (not enabled by default). You can choose between fully transparent, semi-transparent, and any custom color.
Optional 1.2 GHz overclocking via menu
Fixed GPS performance, largely fixed audio routing and fixed call quality
VPN support
Customizable installation with Aroma installer
G-recovery

Notes:
Installation: to install, go into CWM and select the package via 'Install zip from sdcard'. Upon this, a graphical user interface will guide you through the setup process.
This package contains everything that was previously listed under 'download links': ROM, Kernel, Google apps, Beats Audio remover, localized GPS fixes, WLAN failsafe Kernel, the format script, additional applications, and the option to remove some stock applications.
The Aroma installer gives you the possibility to customize your installation: you can freely choose any component you want to install without the need to install anything else. For example, you could only install the ROM, only the Kernel, only a GPS fix, etc.
There is no need to do any wipes in CWM - the installer will take care of this.
Besides the fully customized installation, there are two quick install options available in the installer: 'Install CM7' and 'Update CM7'. Those will perform the necessary wipes and install the bare CM7 ROM (including Google apps) for you. No other additional apps will be installed or removed.
When installing the CM7 ROM, the European GPS fix and Beats Audio are already included by default.

Only change your baseband if you know what you are doing. The procedure is really simple and instructions are included in the zip file. Changing baseband will only affect baseband, your ROM / settings / apps will be unaffected.

cm-7-20120805-p970-boype
- Reverted microphone gain on handset calls back to standard values, while maintainig the increased gain for everything else. (Some users reported distorted sound due to high gain. Actually, I assumed that calls were excluded from the gain.)
- Went back to standard app package - no apps removed, no apps added (not even google apps). Can't argue with personal taste...
- Pre-set GPS fix is set to European NTP server (so no need to flash the EU GPS fix)
cm-7-20120803-p970-boype
- All CM7 commits up to August 3, 2012
- Fixed GPS permission issue being repsonsible for bad GPS fix performance
- Fixed large parts of the (very messed up) audio routing:
- In a call, when enabling handfree (speaker) mode, the interlocutor could not hear anything
- In a call with headphones attached, the interlocutor could not hear anything
- In a call via headset, the interlocutor experienced very low volume
- Increased overall mic recording volume by 66% (Regular calls are excluded from that. However, e.g. Skype calls and voice recording are boosted.)
- Added option to set the statusbar color (not enabled by default). You can choose between fully transparent, semi-transparent, and any custom color. (By JerryScript. source 1 + source 2)
- Fixed a small bug with the center clock, which wasn't correctly "rolled in" after events in the status bar ticker.
- Changed Launcher to the official Play Store version of ADW Launcher (gives a little better performance and smoothness)
- Integrated Google apps (gapps) into ROM package and updated most of them to the latest version
- Integrated the LG Memo app and widget (pulled them from a stock GB ROM)
- Integrated Root Browser, Fancywidgets (great weather widgets), HTC IME mod (superb keyboard) and some other useful apps
- Deleted useless apps from ROM: DeskClock, FileManager, LatimIME, LiveWallpapers, LiveWallpapersPicker, MagicSmokeWallpapers, Protips, RomManager. I have added a zip package with the deleted apps to the OP, in case you want any of those apps back.
- Integrated a couple of notification/ringtone sounds: 'Guitar 2' and 'Major' from HTC, 'Wake up' from Sony Ericsson, and two retro Super Mario sounds :)
- Kernel: Set CPU OPs to 200-400-600-800-1000-(1200) MHz
- Kernel: Re-integrated almost all parts of LG DVFS and rewrote them to work with the new frequencies. This largely stabilizes the kernel!
- Kernel: Tweaked voltages, GPU frequencies and screen-off ramping behavior to optimize battery life
- Kernel: Fixed WiFi hang on re-enable. Connecting WiFi is really fast now :) (Thanks to Conn O'Griofa). (source)
- Kernel: Undervolted WLAN some more
- Kernel: Added ondemandx governor and changed to regular smartass2 / interactivex governors (non-DoomLord versions)
- Kernel: Updated SIO to 2012 version and tweaked it slightly
- Kernel: ...more changes under the hood. Check the sources if you're interested.
- Updated building environment: Kernel and ROM are compiled with Linaro toolchain 11.10 / Java JDK 6u33
cm-7.2.0-p970-20120715-boype
- All commits up to July 15, 2012
- Implemented Beats Audio into the ROM for an enhanced music experience. If you don't like it for some reason, just use the Beats Audio remover listed under the download links. Huge thanks to RockoDev. (source)
- Kernel: fixed the SOD / freeze issues. Thanks again to kdo_vi and Siguiriya for beta testing.
- Kernel: fixed the issue where the phone was laggy for a minute or so after changing the frequency. This means, that you can now also set your desired frequency and governor on boot without any initial lag or other downsides.
- Kernel: removed a lot of LG DVFS stuff from the code. Only the very necessary lines for a smooth operation remain.
- Kernel: lowered LED-button energy input by ~40%. Battery savings 'hello' ;)
- Kernel: tweaked SIO a bit for better I/O performance
- Kernel: some more changes under the hood. Check the Kernel source if you're interested.
- A sidenote for the benchmark kids: Change your governor to ondemand or interactiveX when you want to get the best possible synthetic benchmark scores.
cm-7.2.0-p970-20120711-boype
- Kernel: Fixed bug where CPU frequencies and governor could not be set properly in CM Settings -> Performance -> CPU Settings (I removed parts of LG DVFS for that)
- Kernel: increased voltage for 200 MHz CPU frequency to get rid of reported SODs
- Kernel: added optional 1.2 GHz overclocking support, selectable from the CM Settings -> Performance -> CPU Settings menu
- Kernel: added SIO i/o scheduler and set default
- Kernel: smartassV2 is default governor again
cm-7.2.0-p970-20120710-boype
- All CM7 commits up to build date
- Kernel: Underclocked the lowest CPU operating point (OPP) to 200 MHz (was 300 MHz before) and applied lower voltage for that OPP. Also adjusted GPU frequencies in a linear way for all OPPs (each 100 MHz increase adds 80 MHz more GPU clock, so in the end the default GPU maximum of 800 MHz is reached at a CPU speed of 1000 MHz). Huge thanks to Huexxx and his released Kernel sources!
- Kernel: lowered WLAN voltage to save battery. Operating voltage is now between 1.7 Volt and 2.7 Volt (was 1.8 - 3.0 Volt before).
- Kernel: Set tickrate to 72 Hz. I expect this to be a battery saver when screen is on.
- Kernel: Back to deadline i/o scheduler
- Kernel: More kernel stuff under the hood, see the Kernel source if you're interested
cm-7.2.0-p970-20120704-KANG
- All CM7 commits up to build date
- G-key is no longer a "dead" key:
- when screen is on, long press will open the camera app
- inside the camera/camcorder app, g-key will serve as camera shutter key (Enable it in camera app -> advanced settings; I implemented this function)
- When the screen is off, long press can be set to toggle music play/pause (Enable it in Settings -> CM settings -> Input; I unlocked this function)
- Increasing ringtone option (cherry-pick, authored by Danny Baumann; source 1 + source 2 + source 3)

- Kernel: added interactivex and set as default governor
- Kernel: set noop as default i/o scheduler
- Kernel: added support for VPN (compiled and integrated tun.ko module for that)
- Kernel: added g-recovery by sergey1369. When you have a bootloop, you can still access CWM by repeatedly pressing the G-key while booting. Also thanks to Huexxx for answering a question ;) (source)

List of included CM7 commits (cf. commit dates)
Installation, notes and bugs:
Known bugs:
Video recording:
Low frame rates in general (around 13 FPS)
Recording occasionally just stops after some time
Video playback: Hardware decoding is laggy (You can still use software decoding, which works fine, but consumes more battery)
FM radio:
FM radio puts the volume to the maximum at start-up and every time a sound notification occurs
After an incoming call the radio won't continue playing
Channel renaming does not work
SIP calling: The headset button won't work (can't mute or hang up calls with it)
Skype calling: Handsfree (loudspeaker) mode causes extremely low microphone volume
Bluetooth: there have been reports about random Bluetooth re-pairings, resulting in calls not working properly
Installation procedure and various problems:
It is perfectly possible to flash the kang over any other CM7 version (nightlies, kangs). Also, you can flash any other CM7 over my kang.
When you're switching to CM7 from a stock-based ROM: Few users reported problems of various sorts. If you experience any problems, re-install CM7 with a 'full format'. This should solve your problems in most cases.
The transparent / colored status bar feature does not work with all launchers or types of wallpapers. In ADW Launcher, the 'wallpaper hack' option must be disabled for the feature to work! Note that there is no solution out there for making it work with any launcher and wallpaper.
Few users have reported problems with getting a GPS lock. I have built a fix for that, which is already integrated into the ROM from version 2012-08-03 on. If you still experience problems: some xda users report that the following simple steps fixed their GPS issues completely: disable both 'Use wireless networks' and 'Use GPS satellites' in the menu 'Settings > Location & Security', exit the menu, and afterwards re-enable both options.
The FM radio turning on Bluetooth is NOT a bug, since the FM radio is integrated into the Bluetooth chip. It only appears that this is a bug, as the LG stock FM radio app hides that Bluetooth is activated. In reality, the stock FM radio app turns on bluetooth as much as the CM7 FM radio app does.
To those who are new to CM7:
CM7 is a powerful ROM that adds a lot of features compared to stock ROMs. Things which are noteworthy are a customizable power-widget, vibrate-notifications on established/disconnected calls, LED notifications, different lockscreen styles, volume keys to choose next/previous audio track, an ICS-like screen rotation animation, ascending ringtones, and much more. Many people may still think CM7 is buggy and unstable, but it is not anymore, since great progress has been made over the last months.
Miscellaneous tips:
Many apps that come pre-installed with CM7 can be removed if you don't like them. Check out this list of items to make sure it is safe to remove a specific app.
If you want to install other themes, search for CM7 themes on Google's Play Store or the xda forums.

There should be no problems with both, even though I did not test it. Just do cache and dalvik wipes.

thanks man keeping this great work:good::good::good::fingers-crossed:
Fantastic ROM, thank you. But I have problem with bluetooth handsfree in car (Croma with Blue&Me). First phone pairing is without problems, calls work. If I come later, phone connect to handsfree automatically, but when I have a call, opposite side does not hear me. I have the same problem with Temasek kang and with originall CM7. Stock ROM (Zeus) is without problem.

Even though I cannot exclude the possibility that there's a problem, there's no reason why that problem should arise. Don't get me wrong, I believe that happened to you
However, this sounds more like a "bad flash" or a corrupt file of the other flashed kang.
Maybe yes, i didn´t check MD5 of Temasek kang. Everything is possible.
EDIT: So i checked MD5sum now and yes, it was my fault, sorry for misunderstanding.
Unfortunately, the volume of the headset's microphone is still very very low in your rom. Can u fix it?

Just a suggestion, the word kang is not used anymore, unofficial would be the correct denomination.

I'm loving it!!!

I also found that sometimes our theme draining the battery faster. As an example, I was using ADW launcher (temasek 's default launcher) with its default theme. And these last 2 days, I used Buuf Guuf theme for ADW, I feel the battery draining faster.
Been using it for almost a day, feels and performs well, thank you very much!
However, the volume changing is buggy. When raising the volume, some steps decrease it, next steps increase it too much. The graph would look like: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 5, 8, 7, 9, 10. Not sure if it's just me.

[NAND] N00bDroid (1.1) (Based on CRII CM7.2) [28 OCT 2012]

After following the progress made here, I decided to make my own modded ROM.
The name was chosen because I'm a total newbie in modding and I don't expect it to be very good, but well enough at least for me.
I DON'T TAKE ANY RESPONSABILITY FOR ANY PROBLEM WITH YOUR DEVICE(S)!
ABOUT:
- Based on CoolrunnerII's CM7.2
- LauncherPro (Because Nemus started to lag)
- Increased Heap Memory size to stop Market and Wallpaper problem (now the Market can be updated)
- Replaced Music with Winamp (Beta, but stable version of Winamp to be as light as possible)
- I "borrowed" Kuskro's ideas (like quicksettings and RealCalc)
- I included Rotation Locker (to change from portrait to landscape)
- I included some lines in build.prop which improve 3G and changing to wi-fi and wi-fi connecting speed
- I gave up on CPUTuner because it caused too much lag for the small ammount of saved battery
- Bootanimation changed.. Thanks to SDogo for the X1 Bootanimation.zip
N00bDroid 1.1 Download
N00bDroid (first release) Download
HOW TO:
- Format in CWM Recovery partitions /system, /data, /cache
- Install ROM - Detailed instructions HERE
- Boot into ROM
- Once booted, make sure it won't go in standby until after next step
- Go in Settings>CyanogenMod settings>Display and deactivate everything except 0 degrees
- Go in Settings>CyanogenMod settings>Performance and check Use 16bit Transparency
- Go in Settings>CyanogenMod settings>Performance>CPU Settings>Max CPU Frequency and set any freq between 528 and 576 MHz
- Reboot in recovery
- Install the GAPPS
- Reboot
- Have fun
I will put here a list of tweaks when I will have more time
Thanks: Sp3dev, Zargloub, CoolRunnerII, Jerrytan93, Kuskro, Elibl and BrianXP7 for contributing at this project
Working:
Mainly:
-Mobile data (Voice/3G Edge/HSDPA) - Improved HSDPA to wi-fi change speed
-Wi-fi (currently it works only with WPA)
-Bluetooth (as CoolrunnerII says, if you deactivate bluetooth, the battery will drain very fast, so after using bluetooth, deactivate then reboot)
-GPS (I haven't test yet, but it should work)
-Camera - Without Auto-focus
Secondary
-Flash LED
-Coloured LEDs
-Battery life about 18 hours (with 30-40 minutes music - that took a bit - , 10-20 minutes wi-fi, 5-10 minutes voice call and some messages)
-Market can be updated
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Not working/problems
- battery still drains too fast (in standby it's about 25 times more power consuming by coolrunnerII's measurements)
- Wi-fi WEP is not working
- Battery meter goes to <20% after reboot. However, it will not influence overall battery life
- Camera is not focusing
- FM Radio
- HQ videos
- Front camera

TWEAKS:
- You can use SetCPU (thread - here) to enable better control of CPU as it goes (also on project's google page):
Stability
Minimum (MHz): 19.2
Maximum (MHz): 528
Governor: ondemand
Performance
Minimum (MHz): 128
Maximum (MHz): 614.4
Governor: performance
If you have the possibilities, you can support the developer by buying the app on Google Play
- For a easier use of Rotation Locker go in Settings>CyanogenMod Settings>Input>Long-Press menu settings>Choose behaviour>Custom application then Select custom application>Application>Rotation Locker
- Also for a easier use of Advanced Task Manager go in Settings>CyanogenMod Settings>Input>Long-Press home settings Uncheck "Show Recent apps tile", check "Use custom application", Select custom application>Applications>Advanced task killer free
- You can change the lock screen into a less-laggy one by going in Settings>CyanogenMod Settings>Lockscreen>Lockscreen style>Rotary(it's my favourite)/Sliding tab/Lense
- Go in Auto Mount app and tick "Enable SD Card Auto-Mounting"

NOTE: I am open-minded to any improvement idea as long at it's still in my understanding limits.
Many thanks to be there with new projects.
Let me tell you that CPU Tuner works properly on ZeamDroid but on CM7.2 doesn't because of CM CPU controller. For CM7.2 the best option is not the CM CPU controller the best choice is SetCPU.
Best.

True, but SetCPU is a paid app, so even though I can pay it, I'm not allowed to include it in my ROM

Well, the version 2.24 is free for xda user: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419
.
The reason why CPU tuner doesn't work is because of CM CPU controller. But CPU Tuner is the best frequency switcher for our Xperia X1.
Dear ady_95
Thanks a lot, for your nice work, could you please tell us, what is working and what is not ?!
and what about the battey life?
thnx dude !
V1.1 released (V2 will be released when we will have a major change in the build... Until that, only 1.x.y)

I edited the name and about the google drive link, it's now fixed...(so please, if you can, remove the link from your post, because I don't know what's the downloads limit - or if there is one) also, the DL speed on Google Drive is bigger
Well, guys, it seems the base ROM and the kernels had not changed in the last weeks so until an update comes I retire and go back to WM because my camera is f**ked up and my X1 is the only replacement, I have to manage a high-school radio (from everywhere) and also I have semestrial tests in the next 2 weeks.
I will still follow the forum and when a major update will come, expect for me
See ya!
Hi, this ROM works great for me, very good performance, but after awhile it's not letting me make any calls. Whenever y try to call someone it just shows in red "Call Ended 0:00".
Wish I could go back to windows mobile as well, as I love using my X1, but I wouldnt use it if i did, as there's no Whatsapp or decent gtalk app on windows mobile.
Anyway, thanks for the ROM, great work.
