Pictures and videos erased for no reason. (rooted) - LG Optimus Black

Hi there,
Suddenly my OB erased all media (pics, videos) before June. I realized yesterday when looking for some pictures and found only the ones taken since Jun 1st.
My contacts and messages are still in the SD, pretty weird.
Also, I can see some old pictures with ES explorer, and then in the PC I can see others.
I didn´t do anything wrong, the only suspicious thing that comes to my mind is, maybe, some usb connection terminated.
Do you know if there is a way to recover them? Currently I´m running a software called Stella Recovery, and I can see some thumbnails of my old pictures showing during the process, but it seems this tool is not free, and is taking ages.
I appreciate your help.
Btw, I´m rooted with Nova v7, under 2.2.2.
Thanks.

Probably you have turned on the patched sqlite with nosync and your databases crashed.

Tad of a Problem with my Sprint touch diamod

Last night i accidental erased everything in my internal storage2. my phone has alot of apps and mods done to it, i lost some, i also have been having problems with it randomly deleting messages or faking calls. Im wondering if its time to start over. Im on a mac. Is there any program that can back up EVERYTHING on the phone. Does Pim Back-up do this?
pimbackup backs up contacts sms email but not applications i do believe so.
I think...
I think also the new(ish) myPhone by Microsoft available on marketplace will back up everything on your device. I know it works for contacts, music, pics (device storage & internal storage), so if you have the cabs for all your apps saved on storage, I don't see why it wouldn't save em. I've actually used it, I've just never logged in to see what the saved product looks like, but I guess it saves it on your own windows Live page (which you, being on a mac, may not have ) Might look into it, though. catch is, I think it only gives you 2GB of space.

[Q] HTC One Missing Photos, No LOST.DIR Anywhere? Still Have Space Taken Up

So I had alot of photos hidden using QuickPic's ".nomedia" trick, and it worked surprisingly well...
Recently HTC's Sense ROM was getting too buggy for me, YT wasn't working, Twitch wasn't either.
So I switched to Cyanogen Mod 11, and so far its tons better.
However; I decided to back up my music / pictures before flashing the new OS...
I just selected the two folders, "pictures", and "music" hit CTRL-X and CTRL-V on my Desktop.
It started copying the pictures, then finished almost instantly. Then moved on to the music, which took almost 45 minutes.
I checked both the music / pictures folders on my desktop, music was completely there, but all the pictures were not there.
So I look at my phone, and they don't exist there either... restarted phone, checked for a LOST.DIR file... nothing there...
So I say, "screw it, lets just get my phone working again" and restart, go to bootloader, go to recovery, wipe then flash.
Both completed properly.
BTW: I am using TWRP.
Now here is where it gets strange...
After I get everything set up, I see that my drive space, well its the exact same. 18 GB free...
I still had all my (non-hidden) pictures, and all my music. (I did not restore them from my backup on my PC)
So I know that the pictures are still on my drive... but where!? LOST.DIR is no where in sight, and since CM11 comes with root file manager,
I searched for "lost" and got "lost and found" it was empty.
I have been searching all over the web for a solution, all I can find is these : "delete LOST.DIR and save space " and "recover photos you lost is in LOST.DIR"
Both state that LOST.DIR is in the SDCard, but the HTC One M7 has no SDCard.... It's got internal memory / usbdisk / root / system / etc.
Does HTC One M7 + CM11 (4.4.4) have LOST.DIR still?
So if you guys know of anyway I could get those photos back, it would be appreciated.
Also why did wipe not actually wipe the whole phone?

U should search in SDCARD/DCIM/100MEDIA
There should your photos be.
Good luck!

well it seems the "QuickPic's ".nomedia" trick" saved your photos to the user data partition and you erased them.

May I ask why it is the space in my partition is still taken up? Is that just a glitch?

Images vanished and the reappered (sometimes)

Hello!
I've a strange and really annoying problem. Sometimes pictures (photos taken by me, whatsapp images, ecc...) vanish from the phone, not only from the gallery but also from the file managers. Then the reappear magically, but like today they are not back!! Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution?
All the files are in the internal sd and i've not rooted the phone (L-10) yey since it's pretty new. I'm on the latest official firmware.
PS I also have some double folders (like dowloads and whatsapp), both with the same elements and both with the same last change date (which is also wrong because it shows a day of last month while i modified these folder even today)

[Q] Photos/ringtones missing, can't screenshot, PC won't recognise phone.

Hi everyone, I'm new here so apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
Basically, I have a Sony Xperia T running Jelly Bean, and which is rooted but does not have any kind of recovery (like CWM) installed. Two days ago I suddenly began to have a few problems at the exact same time, which I'm sure are related somehow:
1)When I try to take a screenshot I get the message "Couldn't capture screenshot. Storage may be in use".
2) When I went to see my pictures in the 3rd party "Gallery KK" app (not a fan of the stock "Albums" app), none of the images on my internal or external SD card were there, yet they are clearly visible in Total Tommander file explorer and QuickPic.
3) Similarly, when I tried to set an alarm, there were no ringtones available. I went to their directory via Total Tommander and couldn't find them anywhere.
4) Finally, I thought of moving all my pics from my phone to my PC and back to try and fix the problem. However, now my PC won't recognise my phone at all- both in My Computer and in Sony PC companion. I'm running Windows 8.1 and have never had this problem before.
What's strange is that almost all the solutions I've looked for online have said to clear the data from the Media Storage app. However, when I go into Settings >> Apps , there is no sign whatsoever of anything called Media Storage.
I've tried using 3rd party 'rescan media' apps but they haven't worked either. Please let me know what may be causing these issues, since they were very sudden and have been causing a lot of frustration. Thanks
if this happen to u after using CM rom, try to clear internal storage

Question Google Photos stuck on Getting your Photos on ZF8 *SOLVED*

*SOLVED*
Deleted whatsapp images folder which had null images in it and now it works. Weird thing is I don't have folder backup on and what does that folder have to do with getting my photos?
I have had a lot of devices including the Zenfone6 before the Zenfone 8 (8/256) I just got and I have never had any issues with Google Photos.
On this device however Google Photos does not work.
It is stuck on "Getting your photos..." for days without getting any photos what so ever, and without getting my photos it can't start to backup my new photos.
I have tried
Rebooting
Updating
Uninstalling
Installing
Clear Cache
Clear Storage
Turn Off
Turn On
Restart
I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times but it does nothing. I also monitor transfer speeds and I can see that it isn't doing anything. My network is fast, around 300/50 speeds so this should be more than plenty to load some low res previews.
And best result I got was that it got about 10% of my pictures before just getting stuck again.
Without Google Photos the device for me is not usable.
I am using Photos since day one and it works well. Sounds like you may have to check all app permissions if they are set. Additionally finish the process of other Google apps like Store, services, mail etc as you might have missed some access allowance somewhere.
And it will not hurt to update the phone with Today's new version.

I have finished all other google services. I have given Photos all access and data access for wifi and mobile. Also if I would have missed something it wouldn't explain how I once got like 10% of my images, which I know after last reinstall don't get again.
Installed latest update. Checked all settings
I have no power savings on, unlimited data allowed. Wifi or Mobile makes no difference.
Unlimited Mobile data usage set for Photos. But it just doesn't do anything.
Due to some MFA applications I need daily I can't factory reset without it being a hassle for a lot of people without having another phone.
So what's another good small Android phone in 2021?
So After deleting my Whatsapp Images folder it started working. The odd thing here is that I don't even hav Folder backup enabled, for any folder none the less for the Whatsapp folder.
This is obviously a bug in Photos where it checks folders.
Not sure if this helps, but on my Pixel, the Photos doesn't always sync up new files that are externally loaded (not taken through the camera). However, if I open the Files app and browse to the folder, it gets refreshed. This might help someone as I spent quite some time trying to get the app to recognize the new files.
