listen carefully amigo .... you need to flash a three parts stock rom then flash semaphore through odin then go to recovery mode and install whatever non-official rom you want

[Q] With a Galaxy Ace GT-S5839i

Hi!
I have a Galaxy Ace GT-S5389i and I didn't found any post who say how to change the rom or change the recovery to a clockwork !
I try the clockwork recovery 5 but it failed.
Can I install a different recovery and then a custom ROM or that's not possible for my phone ?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad english.
Hello!
This guide should help : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1552792
The only custom rom avaliable for now is rajrock's, there are other groups developing, let's wait, but DO NOT flash S5830 roms in your device, the hardware is different and it may brick your phone.
Ok, thank you, so I must wait !
yinssio 600
If you ask me, dont flash any ROM just yet even the rajrocks razodroid Rom bricked my phone and im using the S5839i.... Wait until someone releases a ROM specifically for the phone! For some people It works and I dont understand how, maybe they used a different kernel.
I'm asking for you help

I recently wanted to flash my Samsung Galaxy ACE GT-S5839i with RazoDroiD and ClockworkMod, both files are compatible, I think I messed up in the wiping part, I restarted the phone on the normal recovery mode, choosed Install Zip from SD Card, and choosed ClockworkMod, it instantly gave me the Clockworkmod Recovery interface, so I choosed Wipe data factory, and Wipe Dalvik, then choosed install zip from sd card and choosed RazoDroiD.
Now when I turn on my phone, I hangs on the Samsung logo, and if I turn it off, it restarts all by itself.
Pleaaaaase help me !

I just recover my phone from this problem by using this way: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28536093&postcount=264
Forget that the RazoDroiD.is compatible with GT-S5839i its not ! I had exactly the same problem like you. Just follow the steps with Odin and you will recover your phone.
You will also need a original firmware from here : http://www.tsar3000.com/Joomla/inde...laxy-ace-firmwares&catid=55:samsung&Itemid=82
I hope that will help you enough. Good luck :good:
Yep, Bricked my GT-S5839i
I officially bricked my galaxy ace gt-s5839i for the second time...but this time trying to flash Razodroid v2.5.
Did all the steps and instructions properly but turned my phone into a brick . Hope that my previous back up through CWM restores my Stock Rom!
So anyone with gt-s5839i phone, please dont flash Razodroid for your own safety.
S5839i = NOT COMPATIBLE

Please do not flash any ROM on the s5839i, it does not work! I am on 3 and I have had to send my phone back twice now because I was stupid enough to follow other people!
I have learnt my lesson now :good:
Just wait till there are roms that are confirmed for 100% before you do anything!
This is the S5830 thread, please ask for it in the correct section
You'll brick you device if you use S5830's ROMS or whatever from the incorrect device to your device
Thank you for understanding!

Flash Rafael.baugis kernel modules to fix audio.
Also its a banned Rom. No more questions.
And ask in the right section next time.

[Q] Loop in recovery mode

When im in recovery mode it keeps looping or restarting as i press up down or anything.
Im following this post. I flashed a stock rom then installed CWM to come to this problem. I have the international note.
Id be nice for any troubleshooting or tips for this issue
how about download mode? if you could, flash a stock gb rom via pc odin and start over.
Wouldnt that bring me back to where i was before?
It only happens after i instal CWM so perhaps im using an outdated kernal for CWM?
more like using an outdated CWM. Kernel shouldnt affect it.
You could just flash a kernel in ODIN, Something like speedmod, It will root and give working CWM, aswell as some cool kernel tweaks.
Its easier than flashing a whole firmware package
Wont flashing via odin give me the triangle?
Also how would i go around using it for this ROM?
It tells me to use abyss to do a full wipe...
Hey man ! How did you get on ? All sorted now i hope ?

When you install CWM from dr.ketans link, I think that you have touch CWM, try using your fingers not hardware keys (vol up/down).

You should not ask here but your problem can ask in Hellybean thread.
For your problem I believe that you can go into "Download" mode so flash Gingerbread stock rom (JVU or newer recommend).
PS. Don't ask to backup data because I try many way but there's no way to go recovery mode from your problem.
how can i install a new rom from download pls give me a topic

Hi there, did you try to flash on an unsafe kernel? Please read the numerous posts on Safe / Unsafe kernels, then consult Chasmodo's excellent Kernel Repository.
Before flashing a ROM, I would suggest you download the Abyss 4.2 kernel (tar file), you can search and find this on XDA.
Connect your Note to Odin and flash the Abyss 4.2 tar file. This will install a safe (Gingerbread) kernel. Again there are posts on how to do this.
Enter Recovery and flash your ROM of choice.
Remember to ALWAYS flash on a safe kernel. If you are not sure, please check.
I hope this helps. Please hit THANKS if it did.
Thanks for posting you all,
I was flashing a new rom with cwm and suddently appeared an error: E: can't...
I took off the battery and put it again and reboot it again...
And so it stucked at the initial logo.
P.S: i had a cooked rom before that happened

But, what new ROM were you flashing and what were you on prior? You have to explain yourself better. Did you do a factory reset/wipe data on a PURELY STOCK ROM or did you use philz kernel or a CM9/10 variant or something else?

Sounds to me as if you flashed from an unsafe kernel. You must ALWAYS check the kernel is safe before you flash.
I would recommend you flash a safe kernel (via Recovery or Odin - there are guides on both methods). Abyss 4.2 is my personal choice.
Then, when the kernel has been flashed, reboot back to Recovery before flashing a ROM. Do not got straight to ROM flash.
These steps should help.
thanks for your help but there s still a problem... if a flash a rom with odin it stucks at factory.fs..
i did everything and at last i used the adb program and i removed the old partition like factory.fs and created new one..... after that i converted them in ext4 by going in (cwm recovery) mounts and storage and check format /data and format /system...
after that i installed the cm 9 Nightlies and the phone worked again =D
so...after that.... i installed odin mobile pro and Odin Flash Kernel for GT-N7000 ...then i downloaded a stock rom ics (N7000XXLRG_N7000DBTLRG_DBT) and i flashed it with odin mobiel pro =)
everything was working fine until it stopped at installing or updating (i don't know) the new applications like kies,Smemo ecc.....
and now i don't know what to do...
Can you help me please? i don't want to throw away a galaxy note......

Flash back to cm base. If you have damaged emmc its likely you won't be able to run stock roms anymore because of the damaged space. ie. Stock rom 600-800mb, cm based 150mb

He is saying you can use any CM based ROM. Crash and such are still based on stock Samsung and pretty big in size. Maybe try something like SlimBean.

Hey there,
Did you flash an ICS/JB rom first before trying to return to stock?
If you did, no worries, it can be easily fixed
I think what you're missing is a file called dbsdata.rfs.tar (I'm not quite sure where to find a link, will update if I see it)
Pretty much the data partition in ICS onwards is different to that of GB, and so therefore it'll cause your phone to bootloop if you have the incorrect data partition.
Download dbsdata.rfs.tar from somewhere and flash it in download mode through Odin.
Try that and please report back
(By the way, don't panic if it bootloops after installing a custom rom. Just take out the battery, go back into recovery and flash again.)
