I am not sure if if is fully visible from the pic
I am currently on rocket rom v3
(i am not sure if it is related though)
My note screen is slightly off the screen
That cuts the edges of the widgets or
Button boxes like on the pic.
Any idea to solve this?

Whoa, that's new. You could try flashing a stock GB ROM via Odin, just to make sure if it's a software or hardware issue. I think it'll probably go away. No idea what could cause it, though.

Maybe you can try calibrating your screen before you flag another ROM.

Soooo my Captivate for some reason has rotation issues no matter what rom I flash, including stock after ODIN. It started happening after I tried the leaked i9000 gingerbread rom, then after that my captivate has not been tilting the right way. I want to know if theres any apps to tilt the screen maybe with 2 fingers kinda like the new iPod Nano does with 2 fingers. That would make things better easier
P.S: I knew there would be issues with trying the leak, but I still went on with it so please don't post about my stupidity.

Try ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro, i know they have rotation for the home screen, maybe it might work for the rest.
Sounds like a problem with the accelerometer. You might have a shot with warranty

Think ATT will replace it? or should I just send it to Samsung? I bought the phone in August. I might get the Inspire 4G for my birthday so idk yet
Make sure Auto-rotate screen is enabled. Also try resetting the horizontal calibration.
As Hondo209 said only certain launchers are able to rotate the homescreen.

I have flashed multiple roms including stock through ODIN, I always check Auto-Rotate but the screen rotates the wrong way. I can't calibrate because I am using CyanogenMod 7 and theres no calibration option.
Hi i have q big issue here , i bouht this cellphone on ebay. It came unlocked but not onrooted. The display looks fine if you dobt pay attention. But if you look closer you can claerly see the separation of colors. It means a degradations of color looks bad cuz u can actually see the lines of each color. Its like wjen you put ypur computer in 16bit resolution. I have root the phone to put another rom and nothing. I changed the kernel and nothing i have use **** ten differents roms to see if thats the problem and nothing happend. A htc inspire screen looks better resolution. What can i do plase help. I have tried everything.

Maybe you have voodoo color installed.
Whats your kernel?

2.6.35.7 thats my kernel. For example if there is a degradation from black to white you will see clear the black them a non smoth dark gray then gray then light gray you can clearly see the patterns. Im really dissapointd. Another thing if a take a screen shot it will look better on the pic. How weird its that?

I too had this when I tried the German release of ics
It was on the upper left hand side of the screen prov 1/4 way down and 1 cm from left edge
just one red glowing pixel
And that was with screen off
Only noticeable in a darkened room tho
I have gone back to gingerbread since and all is fine again now
Don't know what was causing it

Often the stuck pixel is due to a defective of the screen or a physical damage (when you drop the phone for example). If this is the case, it can not be reverse back with software.

I understand what you mean. But it not really a stuck pixel per say. The stuck pixel will 'disappear' after u off the screen for a while.
I think it might be some software issue, will try to load GB back into my note and update you guys.

I've the exact same thing that you described, just that the pixel is in the top right hand corner. Seems like a software thing though 'cause on the red test screen it shows up as black, and it appears cyan on a white background.
Anyone found a fix, or the reason for this yet?
Sure i saw an app to fix this problem try searching the market for Dead pixel or stuck pixel
Hi,
Today when i check my phone the display was not filling the entire screen. there seems to be a black border.. .i.e the display is 1 mm shorter than the actual screen size.... i dont think it was there before today... but may be i dint notice...
can u guys confirm if u too have the same kinda display ?
erhm,yes,same here.
So, we cause a triple murder before breakfast, start a race war before dinner - that's uh, that's a pretty good day.
Are you getting this in all the apps and even on the homescreen as well? If your not getting it.. then I would suffice that it is just that app that your running now that might not be optimized completely on the screen grids/borders of your Note.
Now if your getting this as well in all of your apps including the homescreen/lockscreen.. My second question then would be... are you on stock ICS ROM or on a custom one?
Some custom ROMS have some light blue border that is faintly visible when your trying to look at it. Nothing of a big deal though (to me in particular) as I know this is just a ROM (and therefore a software) issue and not on the hardware one (which would give me much more of a headache if that really happens)

Also are all of your running a specific dpi?

My phone's diaplay has turned pink. But when I press the home button to open task manager then the area behind recent apps dialog box becomes as it should be.
So please anyone could tell me if it could be repaired or the screen is to be changed!
Thanks in advance
Hmmm. This is interesting.
Did this just suddenly happen or did something happen to it, eg. Did you flash a rom/kernel or did to get submerged in water etc
If it did get submerged in water, its likely a hardware fault
Try flash in Sempahore GB, that has Voodoo colour, and see if that changes anything - if not, its likely a hardware fault

Follow what @Soryuu said to do. In my opinion, if this is a hardware issue (display to be changed), then you better buy a used phone as it costs equal to the display. Or you may use it as your secondary phone and buy a new quad core phone
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Maybe a hardware issue like that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2529205
but if there's something wrong with the display then why the area behind the recent dialog box ok

That's probably why - when you reassembled the phone you must have also done something to the screen digitiser without realising.

Check that the display flex cable is properly seated. Or see if you can tune it out with colour calibration.

sorry, but how to do that?
i just installed the app and then just adjusted the brightness accordingly
What ROM are you using? Most ROMs for i9000 have colour adjustment built into settings.

Same setting point in CM 10.x
In CM 11 it is called "color calibration" under "Other device options"
thanks
