After having a few ROMS tried out I am really sad. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note NT 7000 and its performance is not so tough and really unpredictable. Some games run well, but as for example the latest Gameloft's Modern Combat 3 and Nova 3 are laggy. MC 3 is choppy and Nova 3 just goes like slower than it should. Still believing this is not the phone's fault but the softwares I am hoping You could recommend the best firmare for samsung galaxy note that would be rootable. I ve seen some previews on youtube of people playing on their samsung glaxy note and it is much smoother than on mine. Please help me.
Grateful,

I watch the Youtube video in the Criskelo 5.1 ROM and I see some lags so I didn't try it. Try the Fruit and Ninja game to see how smooth it is.

i'm afraid you see lags everywhere
your ideal mobile is not yet come ahaha !
well then you might try franco R5 ... is a overclocked kernel, people had big difference using it!
i won't overclock my note, to me it's really as fast and performant as i need(with criskelo even more...)

I have franco r5 with franco updater that allows overclock to 1600 MHz. The quadrant score changes from 4000 at 1400 MHz to 4800 at 1600 MHz using Kingdroid v2 rom.
my current firmware
is KL3
I tried most of the custom rom and most always lag after few hours of use. Some random reboot, SOD. So now I'm on LQ2 stock with root. No more issue and everything work. It weird because I thought it supposed to be the other way around. Custom rom should run better then stock but it not the case for me.

thank you
i think ill try your version since it s stock so looks trustworthy.

i agree. i have flashed ics full repack by chainfire, lpy dbtel (germany), lpf (taiwan), lpy (poland) and now i am on lq2 uk/ireland and i have no more lags.
i am experiencing also sudden reboots with all custom roms, i gave up on all of them and went back to stock.
to not hide the fact i have few warez app installed could they be the reason for sudden reboots, or is it the too many widgets i have on my screens?
I also experienced sudden reboot with LQ2 with only root no franko or CF root kernels installed, although i did a backup restore after i installed the rom.
maybe its poweramp as someone mentioned that poweramp can cause sudden reboots

can you tell me where will i find LQ2 stock ics rom and + how do i flash it, i currently have goatrip ics rom based on xlpy , speedmod kernal,
I would heartily recommend the paranoid android ROM. I rooted my galaxy note and installed it following the instructions in the thread and its awesome.
Running GTA 3 and Mass Effect all with no problems at all. It really is as smooth as silk and turns the note into the device it should have been.

Kingdroid V4.4 with kernel speedmod 3.7 (or GL_Note core) is excel. CM9 based roms may not have all features (such as S pen). Why use a powerful phone with handicapped features.
Ok
And where can i download this mi... or kingdroid rom??

Paranoid Android is the rom that should came preinstalled on the galaxy note. Since the note is a hybrid device and paranoid android is a hybrid rom, it's a match made in xda heaven. I have a flashing addiction but can't seem to stay away from this rom. Can't wait until a jelly bean version comes out!

i'm running Paranoid as well... one of the few Rom's i've found for the note that actually feel really right for it

I have galaxy s since last one year and i love it... However my phone has become very slow these days.. I tried several roms and kernels.. Formatted both internal and external SD cards... But still it is very slow... I remember that I dropped it 3-4 times... Is it because of it?
Can someone suggest me please... What should I do...

Maybe over clock it ...? I thought the new ROMs would have helped. It could be the fact that your phone is older now and some internal hardware has been worn out

Can I do anything related to the hardware? I mean how can i check if it is not giving 100%?

I'm no expert so I'm not sure. Best bet would be to replace the hardware which Costs a ton of money. Its better to just a get a new phone. Either that or maybe mess around with new ROMs some more. Maybe you are wiping your phone incorrectly or maybe you use it too much

my suggest...
1. update your firmware to last version (2.3.6).
2. try to change kernel and custom rom.
3. maybe, with some different kernel and custom rom, you can choice the better option for your device. for example, try using kernel semaphore (gingerbread) and custom rom F1 or other.
I would be very surprised if physical trauma has simply caused a slow-down in speed. It would more likely show itself as random reboots and other more obvious symptoms.
Much like Windows, after a lot of use, it slows down - you have said that you've flashed other roms, maybe you just haven't come across a good one; there are after all a lot of different ones...
I would suggest the deodex-ed / rooted stock rom from RAMAD Gingerbread JVT. As I remember it was always quite stable and fast.
The hardware components inside a modern phone will not wear-out after a year - they are not moving parts! - when ram or a processor wears out it usually results in total system crashing not just a slow down.
Thank you all for your feedbacks and suggestions. I use my phone a lot. Usually i use TV out a lot as i do not have a cable connection in my hostel room. I use my phone a lot. I flashed it atleast more than 100 times. I have not seen any reboots, crashed , soft reboots etc very often. When i use MIUI rom my phone is very fast indeed however , it does not have a TV Out and therefore i have to use a stock based rom.. i will try Rammad's GB Rom as per your suggestion and will report back. As i told you that i dropped it a couple of times, is it possible that any of the Internal components have become loose?
Have you ever tried Advanced task killer? Or even killed tasks?

Try ICSSGS RC 4.2. I had the same situation as you. It was fine for one year and I was using Darky rom by that time. Suddenly I started feeling that my phone is too slow. Lot of stuck. Sometimes I had to remove battery just to restart.
Now running above ICS rom with Devil 14.2 Kernel its rocking ...
yeah I'd suggest u the advanced taskkiller too
in options you can set the auto killlevel to safe, so that it kills smth like games in the background but not important apps
since then my phone is quite fast even with stockrom

Yeah, and you can just use the ATK widget when you close out of something press the icon and it kills all the background apps...
I will surely try ATK and ICS roms as per your suggestions...

Just get stock jw1, flash with reparation to wipe everything, then do a factory reset via secret dial code. Now install semaphore 2.5.0 kernel. Dl superuser to get root. Now install thunderbolt tweaks the main package and the 60lmk other addon(read thread how to) . This is the best setup i can think of in terms of speed bat life and functionality. Next step look in pikachus Android optimization thread and remove the bloatware listed there, basically remove as much bloat as possible. Enjoy ur fast phone.

And sometimes every hour like today i switched to DARKYROM 3.4.1 and after that for one hour i switched to ics because now in GB there is a problem that when i downlad anything From opera browser and open it say
(ERROR IN OPENNING THE OMC FILE ) i think thst this problem is from the ics leaks.
PS : i just wanted to take it off my chest

I love my Note it is the best android device around (trust me), I am sorry yours started to lag but then again if you start to install lots of programs and random apps it will do this (just a guess you might have unlucky).
I have tried most of the ROMs manly for testing for my linuxonandroid project, and tbh found stock to be the best for me I just love the Spen features (Although stunner in tablet UI is just well stunning).
Correctly I am on the German ICS with root via mobile odin pros everoot and I love it but it will be nice once the bricking issues are sorted for sure.
I recommend a clean install and not using titanium or any other app to restore apps, just re download those you need and I have never had any lag
I have my Note from 1 week now, and i flash a couple of romĀ“s like Criskelo Rom, Kingdroid Right now im running Stock ICS Rooted and no lag at all maybe you do something wrong
Yeah, I love my Note as well and it is fast. I am on the official ICS German (LPY) build and rooted and love it, no problems found so far for me. I used to be on Stunner version .19 and it was one of the best custom ROMs I have ever run.

Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA
lost the touchwiz lag by going CM9.
If you still have problems flash stock kk9 which is a very good stock base (well has been for me ) via PC Odin root it nd then do factory reset ect then unless you have some crap hidden from ics leak you should be running a nice clean rom
Also try wiping (format) everything in mounts and storage then flash stock via Odin and root that is the way I do it when want a really fresh install lol

I love my Note. I have had it for 3 months now and have tried nearly ever rom out there. Just due to interest. I find the Stock Roms the best also. GB Roms are very fast. But I love ICS too much. I got used to ICS on my Galaxy S2 before I upgraded. So once I got my Note I quickly jumped to ICS as soon as it was available. I was not a fan of the Chinese Leak. So I went back to GB for a while. But I have been running LPY for the past week and loved having ICS back. I have just updated to LPF Stock and so far very impressed. Its very quick n smooth :-D

Hi.. Before few days i updated my galaxy note to the ics using kies.. The version was ddlp8 for india.. Now the version named xxlq2 has been released for uk.. I have a doubt that is it any different frlm the ddlp8?? Or is it same in performence as well like ddlp8 but under different package name? On dripller it mentikned that it is most stable version among all ics updates rolling out in diffrrent regions?? Plz clarify my doubt.. TIA!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
i have same doubt, please post differences
The only thing different that we can be sure of is a naming difference. Samsung never gives any changelogs.
i cant see a difference other than csc however having said that i have had both on and find lpq to be smoother and more responsive
So what do you suggest? Should i flash xxlq2 via odin? Ddlp8 is quite smooth for me.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
Installed lq2 and you will hv extra samsung apps..ie. play books, play movies and new samsung hub. .enjoy it!
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
There is absolutely no reason for you to switch roms if you are satisfied with the one you're currently running.
Im also using DDLP8 but i found it to be laggy compared to the stock GB ROM. Would definitely wanna try out the XXLQ2 if it is smoother.
Also in case of DDLP8, im facing the following issues:
1. when i connect BT mouse, 'Back' option is somehow not working. Both right and left click buttons are performing the selection function.
2. when i turn the 'Settings>Developer options>Force GPU rendering' on, S-Pen writing becomes extremely laggy while in screenshot mode (enabled by long pressing on any screen). However, writing in S-Memo/S-Note app remains smooth.
Can someone using XXLQ2 please check if these two bugs have been addressed or not?
N7000XXLQ2 UK ICS Stock (carphone warehouse N7000CPWLP4) + speedmod kernel seems to be the smoothest and the most stable combination.
I tested both.
For me XXLQ2 is smoother and better in battery consumption.

Dear sonkameja,
I would wait. I recently returned to GB and I am waiting for a major update before I'll try again.
Greetings
c.
I have rooted, upgraded to ICS , running custom rom Criskelo with speedmod k3-3 after 3 days of purchasing the phone and have no issues with battery drain or other things. The phone is smooth like butter , no bugs , have all the GPU hardware accel, and all is looking perfect. However, it took patience, perseverance, and a lot of reading through threads by myself , as it's not just a 1 click upgrade to achieve what you desire.
Don't know about you, but I get : almost 4-4;30h of screen display time , all of it connected to wifi and browsing, checking stupid things online with an overall 15-18h "endurance time"... I mean, more of a tablet experience.
Cheers.

Hi guys,
I wanna know if there is official firmware made from SAMSUNG for SGS GT-i9000 which is very fast for havier games like Temple Run or Subway Surfers without lagging.I'm now on XXJVU and it's not that bad,but there is sometimes games and browser crashing and after day or two phone is slow and I gotta reboot it.One guy from this forum recommended me to install I9000XWJW9.It is VALUE PACK and it is not official and value firmwares consumate more RAM.So is that good advice to instal I9000XWJW9.Is it fast for games?Or I should install something else?
I remember being on 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 (XXJVQ).There wasn't lagging but battery drain was bug.Now on JVU I play Real Football 2012 without any lag,so at least that's good.I like 3d gameloft games..Just saying.
stock
Download I9000XWJWB. I'm now on it, it is from March 2013 and games runs smooth.
I9000XWJWB is android 2.3.6 it is old i have it but i am trying to upgrade to an unofficial better looking os . like 4.3 or 4.4. i dont know anything on the performance of galaxy s i9000 running them but they certainly are better and full of new options.
stock
IMO, stock 2.3.6 is much more fast than Android 4.x. All applications open much faster. 2.3.6 quickly returns to the launcher, when pressing a home button. In 4.x I have to wait about three seconds. Every time.

Dude,I don't know a lot of informations about flashing 4.0 and up,but I definetly know that your phone will be much slower for everything, and for games too. Also you can easy brick your phone by doing that.I9000 has 512 mb RAM and Android 4.x.x was made for a bit faster phones. That's the reason i9000 doesn't have official 4.0 update from Samsung. But you can download launchers from Google play store like Go launcher or some else.It looks very nice, doesn't really slows down your pbone and your phone doesn't have to be rooted to install that launcher.
For me fastest ROMs are HellyBean 4.2.2 (not 4.3), and GamerzROM 4.2.2. With Bigmem 407mb I can run asphalt 8 smoothly without OC. On Gingerbread even SubwaySurfers lags.
