I rooted my device, but can't find any roms
i think, because the population of P1010 is rare, maybe just few developers made a custom rom. and i look there is no one made it in xda, n because from sammy's itself declares that there is no update anymore for P-1*** series. But dont know in another forum. just googling...

No, really official Froyo will never be available on SGS.
Search around and you will find Hybrid R4 and AOSPish MODs, ment to be an Google Experience for SGS.

Hardware in SGS is specific (almost) to the SGS, no other maker could make a rom than Samsung. When samsung make one, you can strip it and install what you intend (from launcher to apps)

Yeah, I have been wondering this as well. I got the wifi only version and there is nothing out there as far as custom roms go! What does it take to cook up or port a rom from the p1000 roms?

ok, I do have my nice new samsung rooted, but some functionality can only be done via other rom's etc. Rooting my evo and custom rom's etc is not new for me but I don't want to mess up as clockwork backup didn't work so I needed to re-read and understand but the forum has always helped so well, I would continue the tradition.

Now the only issue I have is this step (Extract Galaxy Tab root files.zip to find two files named, gt-p1000_mr.pit and dbdata.tar.) as the problem is this is the newer p1010, so will that be a problem? I have yet to make a full backup as I said clockwork doesn't work with this tab, so a little hesitant to just do that.
I don't really care if it's 2.3.3 or better yet overcome, but have yet to find a simple 'how-to' with the p1010 tablet. This is a wireless only device, so no carrier.
My first post helped with some things regarding this device, but things like 'the dev forum can answer' is not an accurate statement at all which is why the post is being put in the 'general Q&A'.

All of the roms here in the mini section have there own kernel and are not interchangeable. Mixing kernels with other roms breaks some things especially wifi. So, be contented on the kernel of the rom that you are using. Afaik, the kernels in our customs roms have enough features. If you want to create your own, there is a guide in the dev section. Check the Developer 101 thread.
As I am new to XDA Developers and I have seen that you can find every solution related to your Android, (if I'm not wrong) so after seeing posts about Custom ROMs, I'm interested in porting my own custom ROM based on (Note 7/S7/S8) for Samsung Galaxy NOTE 4/S6/EDGE. As i don't know anything about porting or making ROMs .
I just need help from Great Developers who are doing great job by giving New lives to Outdated Phones by making very Great ROMs.
