I have a problem about my SGA.
it always reboot when I plug in my usb cable to a computer or laptop.
I tried changing rom and kernel but still it exist.
for more information:
Yesterday I change my rom to CM7. When I plug in my usb cable the screen turn black then later on it show zero(0) battery in the battery bar and in the lock screen.

Same problem here....
There might be a problem with the charging ICs
Try this Method !
Try this !
Go to CWM and mount SD card and then Mount USB storage and then try plugging your Ace to the PC !

hey people, i just want to ask how to fix this problem, i have gingerdx v017, everytime i plug the usb cable on the phone and when i choose to copy files to the computer, my phone restarts all the time, i tried reinstalling the rom, and still no good, what should i do?

hey guys i just flashed kingdriod v3 on my new galaxy note, everything is working fine but when i connect the usb cable to computer does not recognized phone. it charges from the usb but i cant see the phone in my computer and when i connect it to kies it just gets stuck on the connecting to device screen. when i turn on usb storage the phone and sd card shows up in my omputer but when i turn it off nothing shows up.
any ideas whats going on?

when i connect my LG P970 using USB cable to laptop, its not detecting.
I installed drivers many times. I restarted pc, phone many times, even i formatted(reset my phone to factory settings).
Noting is working.
I wanna root my mobile, but without connecting to pc via USB its not possible. ( itried Ginger break also, not working).

Make sure the cable is properly connected. Check for dust that might prevent it going in properly. Try a different cable. What OS are you using? I found where bootloader is dmg or incomplete Windows fails to detect it. Linux on the other hand detects it. Can't use it but you can detect it.
Can you connect to SW Update Mode? Battery out and plug into PC while holding vol up button.
If nothing works try taking it into the shop.

You can root your phone from there. If you have SW Update. I recommend taking it into the shop if you are still under warranty, If you don't have warranty then you can go ahead and root. Just install a patched bin and fls with Smart Flash Tool. It's one of the stickies (How to unbrick, I think)

I have the same issue when connecting to USB...
And I managed to flash with custom firmware (latest ZEUS version) and I rooted but the issue with USB connection is still there...
Anyway, I wiil try connecting it to Linux to check if that would work with USB connecting
UPDATE:
OK after some digging, I managed to (at least temporally) solve the issue... After fresh installing official 2.3.4 firmware I booted to recovery and from there formatted the system folder and then installed Zeus v7 firmware... anyway, USB connection and charging indicator work fine at first booting to system... As soon as I reboot the OS USB connection (and charging) get unstable, and after third reboot it completely goes away and the device does not recognize anything: if I connect USB cable it does not show any sing (charging indicator does not show battery charging, nor the device offers me to connect in mass storage, windows recognizes only modem but not the USB storage) and when I connect charger, battery indicator does not flash as charging... Battery monitor tool shows that "battery is discharging" even though the battery capacity seems to increase (according to growing percentage of battery capacity)... Is there a some kind of USB server... I am a total noob to Androiid OS (used to be Symibian from its beggining )so I hope you won`t mind if I used wrong terms in my explanation/comment...

UPDATE 2:
After installing Zeus v7.01 update, battery charging recognition got fixed using both USB cable and wall charger...
Anyway, USB recognition by PC problem still exists... But when in recovery mode I can successfully mount SD card to PC in Mass storage mode...

Hello, i have a N7000 and until yesterday my pc can't recognised it. When i plug the usb cable is starting to charge but pc can't found it. I tried to wipe cache etc but nothing happen. In more settings>usb... i tap on connect to pc but also nothing hapen. In the notification bar i don't see the usb icon with the option MTP etc. I have only 450mb left and i want to transfer data in my pc. What can i do? The phone is charging of course and i tried several pc's but none of them recognised it. I NEED HELP...!!!!

Yes, i tried and in the same PC i pluged another N7000 and it recognised it.
Then there could be some problems with the usb port.

can't be detected by PC via USB (not showing on device manager, odin, kies, not even charging)
but it is charging when connected thru a charger
but it can detect my flash drive via OTG
already tried reinstalling correct drivers, tried different cables, tried different USB port, factory reset both from settings and recovery menu.
How can I fix this?
Also, I'm wondering if I can still attain root access/permission even without USB connection but thru terminal emulator?

Try and clean your usb port with soft tooth brush and alcohol, remove sim and sdcard and battery, then connect yr phone to pc holding power button and insert yr battery.
You can also try and update kies to the latest

i already tried it and still cannot be detected. i have a samsung win gt-i8552 and it connects to my pc just fine using the same cord and inserting to the same port. I was wondering how come it charges from a charger but not when connected to pc. and also it detects USB OTG but not the USB connection from my pc.
