My friend didn't know the emmc drive issue in some ics release and now his phone failed to boot into system. Now the situation is:
1. The phone can go into download mode, can flash GB, but alse fail to boot.
2. Can go into cwm, but can not mout the sdcard, the msg is "Can't mount /sdcard/"
After that, I try to use odin to get back to GB, I also use the right pit file, but my effort seems useless. Can anyone to give me some useful advice to recover my friend's device?

(sorry can't add the picture since i'm new).
I waited 20 minutes but nothing happens....
Should i wait again? Can i unplug and try again?
Thanks
this might be a silly question but are you already rooted and have recovery 2e?
Thanks for your answer.
I'm rooted but i have recovery 3e.
After serveral tries, i was not able to reformat using the pit provided with darky's.
Fortunately it worked with another pit file, and after that i was able to flash an official rom, but now after the boot, i have a black screen with the phone vibrating.
When i go into recovery mode, i see
Update medie, plesae wait
E:Can’t mount /dev/block/st110
(invalid argument)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can’t mount DBDATA:
your storage not prepared yet, please use UI me nu for format and reboot actions.

hi mate, i had issues trying to use the odin method and failed misserably, the way i done it in the end is as follows
go to market
download sgs kernel
once done flash speedmod kernel using the app
re start phone
once done download darkys rom
reboot to download mode (should now have 2e)
flash zip
choose zip
find darkys
click yes instal darkys
job done
one thing i must point out in 2e is the back button on your phone is now the select button and the menu button on the bottom left is now your back button
hope this helps as it did for me
hi...just asking..did u download cwm n run in as update.zip at recovery mode 1st? dat way u can get 2e recovery mode. dun forget to place it @ ur main directory.after that finish that process then u can try with odin's step.

Hello,
Thx all for your help.
Finally i was able to unbrick by flashing an official JS3 kernel with the 3 files (PDA-CSC-MODEM) and reformat using a 803 pit file.
I don't know why, everything i tried with only 1 pda file didn't work
I have a problem on my i9000 galaxy s
It stuck in a loop on galaxy logo at first
after that i decided to change the rom
when the phone rebooted by odin and came to recovery mode to install packages,
it shows me an error like this:
E:faild to mount /sdcard (File exists)
...
.
I tried to wpe data factory and wipe cache
but it's still get the error and stuck in a loop on startup.
any solution plz?
I think you will need to flash back to stock , i had this issue with mines. I flashed back to stock with Odin.
How can i do that?
Go yo samfirmware.com and go into toolbox section and flash stock gingerbread through Odin. instructions and guides are given on the site along with Odin software and stock gb files.

What happened ? And are you familiar with Odin ? Are you putting the correct files in the correct box ?
yes , yes, im familiar with odin.
I tried to flash my phone with a Rom that have bootloader.
my phone comes up with android 2.2.1 sucessfully BUT unfortunately my internal 8G sdcard is not unvailable yet.
Try flashing to GingeBread 2.3.4 (will post a link) but be very carefull when doing so, because semi-brick is possible. What rom did you try and flash. Read the tutorial carefully and use the odin they say to use.

Thanks for reply.
I've done every thing but it didn't come back. still my phone's memory is unavilable.
is it possible that it be hardware problem?
how can i be sure?
any suggestion ?
hi,
i appear to have the same problem.
have followed the intructions in the posted tutorial to the letter without joy.
can anybody help or does it need to go back to samsung?
thanks
download terminal emulator and type ls /dev/block/mmcblk0*
a normal phone has mmcblk0, mmcblk0p1 and mmcblk0p2.
if you don't see it, internal storage is probably broken.
What do you mean by Terminal Emulator?
I should install it on my phone or its a pc program?
I found a Terminal emulator for android but i can't install it because of "There's not enough space.."!!!
[Q] Odin stuck on "data.img" i can not flash a firmware and Note Semi Died (Help)
Hi Guys,
I hope someone can help me, I accidentally interrupted a factory resect and from this moment I can not flash with Odin .. in detail ....
I can do:
1a I can successfully flash a firmware with Odin with only one file
2a I can successfully flash a kernel with Odin
3a I can go to recovery, any, either Samsung or CWM 3E recovery if i flash to CF-Root Kernel
4a I recorey files from flash, cooked and kernels.
I can not do:
1b I can not flash with success with Odin firrmware with more file and Pit, Odin stuck on "data.img"
2b I can not restore a backup nandroid, because I get I get the following errors:
Error while restoring / date!
E: Can not open / chace / recovery / log
E: Can not open / chace / recovery / log
E: Can not open / chace / recovery / last _log
E: Can not open / chace / recovery / last _log
3b I can not load the system, i can not turn on the Notes, only sometimes into Boot loop and other time stuck on written "Notes Galaxy Samsung GT-N7000"
Other problems:
- If I make the point 1a after the phone sometimes goes directly into Boot loop, other time go to 3E Samsung recovery and I get the following errors:
"And: failed to mount / data (Unknown error: 0)"
"E: install_application_for_customer: Can not mount / data"
"Your storage not prepared yet. Please use UI menus for format and reboot actions."
"copy application failed"
Even doing a full wipe, restarting the Notes, remain on "Notes Samsung Galaxy GT-N7000"
- If I make the point 4a flashing cooked, the flash apparently successfully, but at reboot Note stuck on written "Notes Galaxy Samsung GT-N7000"
I'm desperate, I do not know what else to do to revive my Note...
I hope someone can help me...
Really Thanks
Ps. Sorry for my bad English
Try this,
download abyssnote 3.9 kernal and put it on external sdcard somehow (maybe by taking the sd card out and using a card reader.
boot into recovery, flash the abyss note kernal, go to advanced in recovery and reboot recovery,
now try restoring the nandroid backup u have.
See if this helps..
Edit: or you can download a stock firmware in .tar format, put it in PDA(in odin) see if it flashes successfully,
you can use the firmware in this post, download the three files from mirror 2 and read instruction to join them, and flash it in Odin PC

Hi dead-angel
thanks for your answer and for your help..
i had flash abyss 3.9 (RedPill Recovery) and after i make restore of nandroid backup but nothing of good..
the restore was interrupted and i get this error:
Error while restoring / date!
E: Error in / chace / recovery / log
(read-Only file system)
i wanna also try your second suggestion, but some link are not available
anyway i have just tryed so many time to flash with odin I can successfully flash a firmware with Odin with only one file the phone sometimes goes directly into Boot loop, other time go to 3E Samsung recovery and I get the following errors:
"And: failed to mount / data (Unknown error: 0)"
"E: install_application_for_customer: Can not mount / data"
"Your storage not prepared yet. Please use UI menus for format and reboot actions."
"copy application failed"
Even doing a full wipe, restarting the Notes, remain on "Notes Samsung Galaxy
GT-N7000"
while I can not flash a firmware with success with Odin and more file and Pit, Odin stuck on "data.img"
frustrating situation
Your Welcome
Try the mediafire links from that second suggestion, Im sure they work, and that shows up as single file in Odin, It should flash if single file fashing works in your PC odin
If mediafire is blocked in your country or by your ISP, try any Proxy bypass site to access the mediafire.
Best of luck mate
Ok, thanks Again Angel

i had tryed put bootloader in PDA and after i flashed with odin a firwmare stock with one file, flash successfully, but after the Note stuck on written "Notes Galaxy Samsung GT-N7000" and go in Loop on it
while if i flash with Odin firrmware with more file and Pit, Odin stuck always on "data.img"
Hello everyone
I am having a similar problem: I wanted to downgrade my Note to stock GB because I lost root on an ICS leak. I have done this successfully before but today pc odin suddenly hangs in the middle of flashing the factoryfs.img of a stock kernel (I used this one but tried others as well: N7000XXKJ4_N7000VD2KJ1_N7000XXKJ4_HOME.tar.md5).
Because of this I can now only boot the phone into download mode. I have also tried to use a pit file (as you can see in the screenshot, where I used this file: Q1_20110914_16GB.pit), because I thought the partitions might have been corrupted or changed by the ICS ROM but this didn't help either.
Do you have experienced this before? What else could I try?
Thanks a lot for any help
suxi
Edit: I have tried this (quote below)from a different post and odin still hangs after the first 1mm of factoryfs.img flashing
http://hotfile.com/dl/141060546/b0c7...1_OXA.rar.html
download this firmware, it's gonna take awhile but worth a try..
try flashing this rom using PC odin.
pit: Q1_20110914_16GB.pit
pda: CODE_N7000XXLA1_CL868264_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.m d5
phone: MODEM_N7000XXLA1_REV_05_CL1093393.tar.md5
csc: GT-N7000-MULTI-CSC-OXALA1.tar.md5
check re-partition, auto reboot, F. reset time.
let me know if it works!

getting into to cwm recovery is a hit and miss. most of the time i get android recovery 3E.
bump.....
Factory reset or odin flash to stock GB firmware. Mount it once and you're done.
i went back to a stock rom and its still the same. any other ideas.
Did you try to connect your phone via usb once @ home screen
yes i did but it still didn't work. the usb thingy showed up on the phone but it still did nothing after.
Hi , you could try just rooting the stock rom to get cwm then mount your drives in recovery.
can i flash the cwm with odin. if so where can i get the files?.

You should be able to find the required Kernel from the following link, then flash in PDA section of odin
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1225879
These are stock kernels with voodoo and CWM
Use with caution as these kernels will convert the file system to EXT4 from RFS (stock) on first boot This may cause issues as Voodoo reads from the internal SD and writes there as well.
If you read the first 2 posts on the thread you should be able to make a decision that you are comfortable with.

when on the linked page do a search (find) by holding the "ctrl" and "f" keys this will open a search window then type in JVQ and you will locate the kernel
Gingerbread 2.3.4 Kernel v1.2 - I9000 XXJVQ
I trust that this will assist.

Flashing just the PIT is a good way to erase all data on the phone as this will format all the partitions. Using a PIT without full firmware (3 file or 1 file) will result in a softbricked device.
And the CSC is only the carrier/consumer branding and will not resolve the issue of SDcards not being able to be read/mounted.
i tried flashing the file but i still cant mount the the sd cards.

Hello,
Can any one please help me,
I am Stuck at Nand write Start!!!
I tried to solve by going to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26285877&postcount=12
but still same condition.
Please let me know I have hard bricked or Soft bricked. also any solution other than going to service center.
Previously I have rooted and upgraded myself to ICS Stock version with Rooted.
was trying something with some other Rom and I have reset at CWM and wipe Catch and Delvk but aftr that when I try PC ODIN i a stuck at nand write start.
I am able to go to Download mode but I dont know what to do from there. when I connect to PC with ODIN and try to flash any ROM I get Stuck at Nand write Start!!
If i go to Recovery mode Yellow traingle with ! comes first and then enter Recovery mode with CMW version 5.0.2.7 .
I dont have update zip so I cannot use apply update from sdcard.
If i Select install zip from SD CARD I dont have any zip in it.
If i select restore there are no restore files
if i Select restore from internal SDcard it gives E:cant mount /emmc
Thanks in Advance.
Did you factory reset using CMW?
Regards
NM
Yes but it dose not help me..
Can any one tell me what is the best solution.
I still hope there is a solution for it
Your best and only solution is to take your Note to Samsung Service center and have your motherboard replaced.
You have a Superbrick, my friend.
is there any solution for super brick??
I tried to follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...7&postcount=12 and did all the things as specified in it, but still I am not able to copy any rom on Internal sd .
I even formated internal SD card and then I copied Rocket Rom on to it. It takes very long time to copy after that when I tried to flash in CWM mode it shows everything went through, time taken was very very less. but did not boot.
Any Help
