cant Enter recovery...

hi... in my galaxy s ive enterded the cwm recovery, and made a nandroid backup. then i did. a factory reset and format cache.
then i tryed to flash a rom.. the installition didnt started, probebly the file wasnt good/fit to the phone.
then i restored the previsly rom... did a rebbot.. and the the phone in stuck.. on the first samsung logo.
trying to enter recovery again.. and its not entering the recovery..
ps, downloading mode is working.
what sould i do to revive my phone?

I understand you were on a CM7 and you still work the way you download may be in luck you can flash a new kernel or the original one. You should find your backup should be on the / sdcard / ClockworkMod / backup

not cm7... the cm7 phone in my signuture is my wifes... its a freind phone, had a samsung rom with root.. then i tryed to flash him a local cellcom rom (in israel that in hebrew) and it didnt succses

Just flash a gingerbread rom with odin, get root and restore the backup.

can you give me a link to rom?

flash a kernel should be sufficient to recover the original configuration with the backup. What is said Firemil as well. What do you mean by "its not a regular zip file ..."

i know how to flash roms through cwm recovery...
you were just telling me to flash through odin, am i correct?
when ill get home ill flash with odin karnel that have a recovery allready..
but if it wouldnt work?

yes flash a kernel with Odin, the harder will be to find the same kernel file in PDA, I think the solution is the easiest Firemil, flash a rom with Odin. Sorry but there are so long that I no longer uses rom samsung ... I would not make you do something stupid

That is because you are running a stock 3e/2e recovery. Download Rom manager on your device from the Android Market, allow SU permissions, select flash CWM and next time when you boot to recovery you'll be able to flash unsigned zip files.

[HELP] - Bootloop when trying to load CWM Recovery

Hi
I am new to this forum, however have previously had Samsung devices and never had any issue with CWM. I have a X715b (obtained via Vodafone NZ) which i recently updated to the Stock VNZ ICS ROM. After getting bored with the stock ROM I decided to look at custom ROMs. I want to install Insanely Cool ROM so went about finding the required steps.
After finally finding an updated root tool which would work for the ICS stock ROM I have now rooted and unlocked the bootloader. Here is where I get stuck.
I have HBOOT 1.28.0003 and when I flash the CWM recovery it all seems to flash fine, however after reboot when I try to access recovery I either get stuck on a white HTC screen (CWM Recovery 5.8.3.1) or it seems to keep the screen lit after the HTC screen and then eventually turns off (CWM 5.0.2.7)
Is there another recovery image I can try or do I need to update the bootloader in some other way?
Device: Sensation XL (X715b)
HBOOT-1.28.0003
RADIO-3831.15.00.20_M

Amon ra is a different recovery. First time I flashed my old desire it kept getting stuck in a bootloop so I flashed amon ra and then cwm over the top and that solved my problem then..

There is no Amon Ra for the SXL as far as i know.

Do you know how to use adb? Try using the "adb reboot recovery" command. If not you can always try reflashing recovery.

Just tried it again (Flash and adb reboot via unix) and much like attempting the install from SD within the clockwork mod app it loads the HTC splash screen and then just appears to turn off but is frozen so I have to remove the battery to reboot it.
I also just tried flashing the chinese boot.img and then it won't boot at all so had to flash cool sense boot.img which then works fine.
I also found a development touch cwm v 5.8.0.9 and that just freezes

are you using the CWM from rom manager?? don't use that, use the modded one by paul o'brien here

If all else fails, flash a stock ruu, that will restore stock recovery, then try flashing a custom one again.

Thanks again, will try flashing a stock ROM. I have tried both (ROM Manager and via Fastboot) and neither has worked.
Will let you know how I go

Unfortunately I have not been able to find a ruu stock Rom for cid vodap022 and modifying the cid in another rom fails at signature check.does anyone know where I can find a Rom for voda nz?

Well its been quite a night of it, I found that it was HBOOT causing the issue with CWM and managed to find a chinese site which had a recovery image for 1.28+
I now am able to load CWM and can flash the Chinese ROM, however when I try to flash the ROMs I am actually interested in (Insanely Cool Sense & Total Senseless) I receive the following error
Error in /sdcard/<ROM NAME>.zip
(Status 1)
Installation Aborted
Can anybody shed any light? I have checked the md5 of both zip files and both appear to be ok

then use fastboot flash RUU to degrade it to HBOOT 1.25
but after doing this, you have to change
system\etc\vold.fstab (open with text file)
(the last line)
dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard 33 /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host
change to
dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard 34 /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host

[Q] cannot start htc sensation xl

Hey there guys!
This sensation xl belongs to my friend and for some unknown reason it is not starting.
I still can open the boot loader.
How can I flash official rom while the device is in off condition.
I can extract the ROM.ZIP from official RUU but how can I transfer it to mobile and what should i rename it so I can flash it from boot loader.
note : the device is not rooted and boot loader still locked.

When device is off, hold volume down and power, when in bootloader select fastboot from the list, now connect device to a PC, device should read "fastboot USB". From this mode you are able to flash RUU's.

U sure you are flashing the corrent RUU for ur device? Device has a custom recovery or is it the stock one?

yes I am sure my device is middle east and the RUU I am tying to flush is middle east RUU .
I tried to change CID for my device from HTC__J15 to HTC__001 or to super CID but there is aproblem with signature checking

Did u verify the device CID from command fastboot getvar cid?
If yes then having the correct RUU shudn't make an issue
Incase u want to flash RUU of other region, refer to THIS post

yes my device cid is HTC__J15 and before I try to flush the RUU icheck the CID of the RUU , it is the right cid but I am still having the same problem.

Try unlocking ur bootloader, flash recovery n then a custom rom

R u on 1.28 hboot or 1.25? Goto farjad S-OFF thread n page#6, there is a post on how to go back to stock ruu

You should try to mount the sdcard in some way, i had this problem before, i tried the factory reset from bootloader and it corrupted my SDPartition, so i mounted it via Recovery and formated it via PC, this is the only way to get it done, so, in order to save something while you can, try to flash the Recovery again, try to mount the sd card and flash a custom ROM....
If you can manage to save it, remember to S-OFF your phone, so next time you will not experience this kind of things. Hope this helps.

You can format yor card on recovry. Faster and easier way. For 1.28 with mount usb working look on unlimited page

Root without PC

Hello everyone,
I want to root my phone but can't use PC for a week. So, I want to know is there any way to flash recovery (then I will be able to root) or root without PC (temp root or smth). I've tried z4root for temp root and flash recovery through terminal but z4root doesn't work for me. Stock recovery sends errors and reboot on any option except "wipe cache"
I have Sensation Xl Stock ICS ROM with protected S-OFF ICS HBOOT from unlimited.io

But there is 1 more way. It's through terminal but only with root permissions, and to get root I need to have recovery... And is there any way to fix my stock recovery?
I've tried to instal recovery through bootloader (PI39IMG.zip with recovery.img inside) but it did't start... In FARDJADB's S-OFF thread he showed on video that he flashed rom through he's bootloader, how can I flash recovery through bootloader on unlimited's S-OFF HBOOT?

Download what? I don't have PC right now and can't use RUU. I have only S-OFF and stock unrooted ROM. No way to get root?

Without recovery you will dont get root.
Method for GB: 28/3/2012[UPDATED][ROOT]Sensation XL permanent root method - V4 ADDED.
Method for ICS: [ROOT][CONFIRMED] SOFTWARE VERSIONS 1.14, 1.24, 1.08, 1.27 and all ICS software v etc
Custom recovery:

Stock recovery:
Relock bootloader.

I know all about rooting and flashing recovery. There's another way to flash recovery: place zip (pi39img.zip) in root of sdcard. This zip must contain recovery.img inside itself. But it doesn't work for me, maybe wrong zip name...

You can't flash a custom recovery from fastboot without an unlocked bootloader. It's just going to fail the sig check. Yes you can flash recovery from a teminal emulator too, but for that you will need to find a way to root your device without a PC first.

But I have unlocked S-OFF bootloader and I have stock ROM with another CID, so, I won't get sig check error... But also I can't use fastboot coz I have no PC. Is it possible to flash recovery through bootloader from sdcard (smth like zip file)? If yes, please, give me a link or explain how to do it.

[Q] [HELP][ROM][14/12/2012]★★SS_KINGCOBRA Turbo fast★★

Hey there, ive got a problem after isntalling the ROM, it remains at the home screen stuck with loading, I've flashed the V5 over other ROM and flashed after the Tubo FIX. The UI remains at LOADING, has anyone an ide how to get rid of this?

Okay before you flash v5 you made a clean wipe right ? after that flash (without anything wipe) SS_KINGCOBRA Turba fast . fix permission reboot . when phone boot go to recovery and flash in correct order 1/2/3 fix permission , reboot and must be fine everything .

Apply zip 1,2,3

Home Screen remains "Loading..."
I could enter the setting via drop down and tried trough the dev option to sort something out, but no luck

But after you install V5 you boot the phone and after that reboot to recovery to install Turbo. but I think this conversation is finish beacouse samer make new Rom , Where you don't need another Rom after he upload new Rom try to flash it I think it will be perfect and you dont have any problem .
