Hi, I just bought a Galaxy Ace Model GT-S5830M in the US. I want to change the rom for a fiferent one, which support my language (not english or spanish), and I could find only for a5830I. Are they the same? If i'm trying, what are the risks?

Funny that you say so. Bcause I just got into the Odin mode, and the Product name is: GT-S5030I, although it's 5030M

YES dude they are the same more or less
but the real problem is this :
they are no custom roms for gt s5830i ( m is the twin bro ) , mayb only 1 but this forum is mainly for gts5830 so no development for your device , the custom roms on this forum will not work for u
yes and s5830M is the same with s5830i s5839i s5830c
but is not the same olny with s5830..
Almost every thing is same..like hardware,GPU,specification etc... They just point to shipping continents. i / M / C. The i is made to Spain and countries in Asia. 's M apparently Chile and some Latin American countries. The C is for Brazil...

There's nothing wrong with the languages, but it is for some regions, the "CSC", I thought.
It could be that your phone doesn't work (calling, sending SMS, using internet (3G, maybe 4G Idon'tknow)).
But just try it, you can always revert to your previous ROM/firmware.
I've have the m version and am needing to flash clockwork mod without a comp. I rooted without a comp. Can anyone help? Pm me if you can thanks in advance.

As the title speaks he has "Galaxy ace s-5830i" (i,e) Cooperve ... and i am happy to inform OP that S-5830i has it's own section with good number of roms :good: ...You can get everything related to cooperve in this index {Click me!!}

There's no reported brick or any thing on this method
yo! I found this way of Unlocking your mini
Requirements
- u need to be rooted
- your phone should ask for an unlock code when u insert a simcard from a different company into your lock phone
-you need a pen and paper lol
and last but the vital part of this you need to download [ galaxy ace unlock] from the play store
-now your do it your self lol (joking)
Now let's do this!
•download the app from the play store (galaxy ace unlock)
•it should ask for su permision
•then press allow and press the UNLOCK BUTTON
•it should show you numbers
•copy it
•insert a sim card from a different company it should ask for a code the enter the code that you copyed
And your done!!
This method should work on all 15500 & s5570
That's it bros

im using a custom rom should flash GB 2.3.6
Not realy coz im using costum rom too and it still works

Unlocked my samsung galaxy mini, only thing missing in tutorial is that besides root you need busy box installed as well

Are you sure ?! I've heard people get their hard bricked s5830 motherboard replaced with that of the s5830i. I'm darn sure that the other way around is quite possible but that's until you are ready to spend some fine $s...

No, this is a sure hard-brick.
Internally, s5830 and s5830i are very different
Internally as in
All is in the motherboard
After changing I have s5830 no....

You'll have to install S5830 ROMs if thats the case...

Maybe replace the broken screen of the 5830 with the working one from 5830i would be easier than replace an entire board. Now you have 2 broken device so try it. If you fail you'll still have 2 broken device like before XD.

You want to put S5830 motherboard into S5830i body, right ?
It is possible because there is no visual difference between models.
But I'm not sure if the rest of S5830i will work fine. LCD or digitizer connector may be different.
Buy this S5830 motherboard and see what happens.
BTW what exactly happend to your S5830i motherboard ?

5830D is same as 5830
but not as same as 5830I
you can flash firmware and rom of 5830 on your 5830D but don't try rom of 5830i..

The different model numbers pertains to different regions the phone is released in, if you want to blame, blame the carriers.
And as for the S5830i, same thing, except it uses a completely different processor from the original Ace (S5830)
