My gut feeling is that it will be released after all the OneX/OneS hype dies down...

Sad..

Does that mean i can't get Custom Firmware for are HTC Raiders????!

Hey I just got my friends HTC Raider from Rogers running Holics last weekend. I had to go the LONG way around.
S-Off -> CID Changed to 11111111 -> Relock bootloader -> Install BM Ginger Bread RUU -> Install BM ICS RUU -> Holics 0.8
Works FINE. I thought everyone else knew.
I could throw together a manual if someone wants to go through it with me.

I rather have official Rom first than custom roms..

Not sure why you would want a carrier ROM. Rogers is known for all the craptastic bloatware they put in their ROMs, and the updates are slow. Just get one of the stock RUU based ROMs. It's the same thing the carriers base their ROMs on, but no bloat

I'll look on that. Thanks for enlightening me..

For one, it's the only way to get the proper radio for your device-carrier combination.

U agree with you..

So still no official Rogers ICS update yet? I'm looking to pickup a Raider for my wife, but the only ones I can find are Rogers and we're with Bell. I'd get an unlocked one to use, but I don't want to have to go wiping the phone again if there isn't already ICS on it for her to learn/use.

The AT&T ICS RUU seems to work fine, as I've been running it for months. Also, more to the point, I meant more why he would want to STAY with the carrier ROM. I understand the purpose of upgrading to the carrier ROM in order to gain the specific radio or HBOOT you need, but after that, drop it like it's hot.

Still no update?

We surely will get new radio, but I'm not sure we'll get OTA
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using Tapatalk 2 & its f*cking awesome
let me see into the crystal ball....
Well if you need a froyo radio for froyo roms and gb radios for gb roms than I'm sure the official release will include a radio. Could solve a lot of data connectivity issues associated with ics.

I should think it will also come with a new hboot as well
I considered HTC will give us these new radio, when? A/ maybe on june or july, HTC its a little bit slowly doing these OTA on their old models...

HTC RAIDER 4G LTE x710e

Gracias everyone ,
got my new phone, Raider 4G LTE x710e. some people said it's HTC Vidid while the other said it's HTC velocity.
after search and read on HTC vivid section, i still cannot get correct answer. i'm newbie's on android .
1. Can i Rooting, and Flashing CWM to X710e using same methode on HTC vivid ? such using slapshot30 methode
2. if there is a chance CWM installed on x710e, can i put VIVID ROM on it, i mean, does ROM wich build for VIVID/VELOCITY working like a charm on X710e/x710a ? coz i think they are using very similar hardware ^_^
3. where i can find STOCK / official ICS RUU for x710e, or maybe VIVID RUU can be installed on X710e ?
sorry for my bad english. thanks b4 for aswering my question.

1. Yes rooting is the same
2. Yes you can use any rom except ones that are ice cream sandwich based. The X710e doesn't have the updated hboot version to run ICS.
3. The X710e doesn't have one yet nor can you use the one from the vivid.
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
1. Yes, the same method applies to the HTC Raider. Please use the SuperGuide located here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416836
2. The SuperGuide will show you how to install CWM, and there are various ROM's available for the HTC Raider. Only Gingerbread ROM's are available for the Raider, ICS ROM's are incompatible with the Raider at the moment. A great Gingerbread ROM for the Raider can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431053
3.The official ICS RUU for the x710e is not available.
i see, so the conclusion is, rooting, flashing, unlocking methode and ginger custom ROM from VIVID/Velocity can be done on X710e Raider. thanks for answering my phone
if there is no RUU ICS update so far for Raider, what about Ginger RUU. does Ginger RUU from velocity/vivid work on Raider...?

i see, so the only way to revert to STOK on my device if there's an issue with custom rom after flashing is Make a Backup of my STOCK before flash Custom ROM.
thankyou so much guys, now it's much clearer for me. ... time to learn again of development section.

Update Velocity

Hey Guys,
i am writing from germany. The only provider who sells the Velocity is Vodafone and this provider doens't update to JB
So i want to root and unlook the bootloader. My question is: Does anybody now where I can get Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich OS with HTC Sense 3.6 for my phone (or higher) and does it work in germany? Thats my first choice but when i cant get the official update to ice cream i intend to use a custom rom. Does anybody now a custom rom thats works with the 3G in germany?
Thanks a lot
I highly suggest you perform the S-OFF procedure in the vivid dev thread, and then you can super-cid your velocity and use any of the posted ROMs and ruu's in this forum. good luck!

If you haven't already done so, grab the xda app from the market - makes using the forums easier. Also, be sure to read through all the guides and info in the stickies tabs. Lots of useful and trouble-saving info in there.

S-off with different firmware / rom

Ok what's the risk... I'm running Android revolution ver 31. I haven't updated my firmware. I'd prefer not to have to flash a whole different ROM to gain S-off if in can avoid it. I know it's recommended to be on same firmware and ROM base, but what's the risk of just S-offing like I am?

But, wait, you have the s-off or not?
And what do you want do?

No I don't have it yet but I'm running a ROM based on 3.62xxxx firmware but haven't updated my firmware to that yet because I don't have soff.
Wondering if I'm running a risk with ROM and firmware not matching when I attempt to soff.

Yep, you need to be on the same base, and the closest possible to your own rom. Just restore your stock nandroid and you'll be good to go
