Does anyone have a modified Bionic Phone.apk that allows forced roaming or "Affiliated Networks Only"? I have tried a number of custom ROMs but have yet to see this feature for the Bionic. I am looking for a way to force my phone to roam while at work - the Verizon signal is nearly non existent in the building.

My droid i've had issues with on the network im on called Tbaytel and its always been incoming texts, so now my latest solution is i've been using zeusdroid and the apn's it uses are not verizon its telkzila and one called jsut android. but when i try to change them on any other rom it doesn't work it jsut turns invisible. i have tried changing the apns-conf.xml and telephony.db to from the one i got off zeusdroid but no luck. any one know another rom i should try or any other ideas? thanks
Hello, I have a AT&T MB886 unlocked flashed with LiquidSmooth 4.nightly running LP. I have a T-mobile business line which includes roaming...
My question is how do I get the phone to be more aggressive at picking up other carriers? When I'm in my local town, service is great, but once I get outside of town, the options change to AT&T and other random carriers. If I manually select another carrier, it will roam just fine... however it doesn't do it automatically. I have roaming turned on in the settings, and I checked the build.prop to make sure it was enabled there also. Have I been too spoiled with CDMA roaming just working quickly or am I missing a setting somewhere?
Thanks!
I am running pure nexus 9/17 build and am having issues with cell data connection. It works great when connected to 4g, but cannot connect to 3g or 1x, When it trys to switch to either I get a notification to sign into the network, it will continue to do that until I get 4g signal back. It has done this on both builds I have tried and hear it occurs on other custom roms. My carrier is US Cellular and I think the issue is only with them.
For what it's worth... Out of the box there is a bug with the nexus 6 on uscc, it effects stock roms and the custom ones i have tried. The carrier label says "roaming indicator off" instead of "US Cellular", there is an eri file out there that fixes that though.
So the questions are...
Does anybody have any recommendations how to fix the 3g issue?
And what are the chances both issues are related?

Long story short, there are situations in which some MVNO users need a "home only" roaming option. Data Roaming is easily disabled, but it seems that Verizon did not include network roaming settings in their menus...so voice roaming is always automatic.
My G2 spends way too much time connected to USCC towers... which is fine on standard VZW, but not on VZW based MVNOs that have no voice/SMS roaming enabled.
Does anyone know of a build.prop line, app, PRL update method, xposed module, or any way to totally disable roaming in LG stock roms?
Cyanogenmod 12.1 does have the "home only" option...but I really prefer the stability of stock based roms.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Bumping this... at this point there are no stock based roms with the ability to disable roaming, and CM12 and CM13 do not have sticky settings and end up roaming anyway.
There has to be a way to disable voice roaming...
FYI on the off-chance anyone else is following this...
This build.prop edit does not work to stop voice roaming (causes system UI fail loop)
ro.com.android.voiceroaming=false
Got to be something along these lines, though...
Still eluding me. I can't be the only Verizon MVNO G2 user who doesn't want my phone to roam... anyone else out there?
Such a simple thing as stopping a phone from roaming, and I am stumped!
Aw poop... Just hard bricked my old G2. Flashed a corrupt aboot.img. Deader than a doornail. It has been fun...off to see how long it takes me to break a Samsung Note
It's a minor nuisance, but it did work with my last factory image, the first Marshmallow official image, but since I've been using AOSP it never switches automatically to roaming when I cross the border. I can switch to other available carriers manually, but my home carrier is still in the available list (with 0 signal strength), and since it my home carrier, it selects it automatically. I've got used to switching manually, but I am still curious why this can happen. I've looked at the radio logs, tried to examine the source, but I just can't find an obvious code bit that could result in this bug.
It's not easy to debug, or to make some extensive debug log (because it's not easy to simulate a border crossing. Or is it?), but if you have some ideas, I would be thankful
I've never tried this with other AOSP based roms, that's why I'm interested in your experiences.
Thanks.
I have Sprint Framily plan and there are very few places near me that I don't get signal. I don't run stock, but primarily run ROMs based on AOSP (Dirty Unicorns right now, but Pure Nexus and AOSiP in the past too). When my signal was non existent, I went into roaming fine on Verizon 3G with no issues. In a certain movie theater and certain sports bar I don't get signal but roaming worked fine. Leaving the places it switched back over to Sprint. I've never tried it outside the United States though.
Did you double check under Settings -> More -> Mobile - that the two options "Data roaming" and "National data roaming" are set to enabled?
No, I don't use data roaming, it's expensive as heck, so I always keep it switched off. No it's just simple connecting automatically to foreign carriers.
