Hmm, I noticed too, but I don't know, why.
But you can solve it, by renaming it to 'Google JFK Icons.apk', then it works.

I use it on my sensation for the pkmn Rom and applying the apk themes most apps, just some apps could be worked on but the camera is not changed

Thanks. In cm7 the phone app in drawer is just a shortcut to the dialer in the contacts. So i think, it's changed in cm9, that the app in the drawer the real phone.apk is.
I'll upload the fix in a few hours.

Important:
1) If you want pulled down statusbar like on my screen you have to install patch after you will set theme in theme chooser (patcher site below)
(do system backup before then install patch via recovery CWM)
2) If patch will remove your statusbar restore backup or install undo.zip and try again or let me know.
3) If your SystemUI.apk doesn't have /smali dir (classes.dex file) it means your rom is odexed and sorry you aren't able to patch your system - READ MORE
4) Some patches needs to be applied twice it means: install patch.zip, reboot, install undo.zip, reboot and finally install patch.zip and enjoy (lil' bit annoying, but what can I do )

Wallpaper & transparency:
As you should know not each launchers supports transparent statusbar, but if we will use MiltiPicture Live Wallpaper we can get transparent statusbar using any launcher so I added wallpaper.png to the pack.

What has been touched?
Launcher Pro, ADWLauncher, Browser, Calendar, Camera, Contacts, EMail, Gallery3D, GoogleQuickSearchBox, Mms, Music, Phone, Settings, SystemUI, VoiceDialer, Keyboard and the Framework.
Since this is a huge update, I strongly recommend to Clear/Wipe the Cache partition first and afterwards Clear the Dalvik before installing.
And of course, NANDROID backup is your best friend.
After booting, let it settle down for 5/10 min, shutdown the phone, and restart (I always use this procedure to make sure I don't get any bootloops or Force Closes).

I had one issue with the version I'm currently using, market some background colors are back with black text, but I guess you have already fixed that in latter versions

Amend scripting was deprecated by google in android 1.5
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the clockworkmod 3.0 gingerbread base recovery.
please switch to Edify scripting (update-script and update -binary)to create working update zip packages.

I just use stock Cyanogenmod Icons.
But I think, I will make statusbar icons, which fits to the JFK Icons. Maybe for theme chooser.

Okay.
Theme for all roms won't work, because for a flashable .zip I have to edit every .apk, and the .apks in the custom roms are tweaked and themed.
Or you simply use ADW Launcher/Launcher Pro with this adw iconpack.

The simplest way is to download this, open in eclipse and compile it. There's tutorial on this page too.

Hmm. You can enable drawer app labels.
But I know, it doesn't looks nice with some same icons.
I think, I'll edit the icons, that they're more distinguishable.

I have another suggestion I've encountered that the "trash bin" in home desktops is not a trash bin but instead is a open book.

This is already fixed, but currently I'm working on a folder design, which fits to the icons.

I try to theme Nova today if i have time..it was alredy in plan because i use Nova to. The icons are in the apps, so are already there and with Nova you can change all the icons simply. You have the link for Minimal Text icons in the bottom of the first post.
