Hi,
Every night I enable flight mode on my Note (Stock ICS 4.03, XXLPY) to effectively shut down my phone, thus GSM/3G/Wifi/Bluetooth are all turned off according to the status buttons on the drop-down status buttons.
However, every morning I find my phone with notifications of new email that has been received during the night. It is possible to read these messages without disabling flight mode.
How is this possible? Flight mode should disable all wireless data transfer shouldn't it?

Hello,
I'm going to be an s730 owner but I have a question; I want to switch off the device every night in order to save battery energy and not to bother me with incoming calls. But I also want to use it as an alarm clock. As I read somewhere, windows mobile devices can't use alarm clocks when they are switch off, right? If so, what's the solution to that?
Thanks in advance.
Yeah, it's correct. When phone is switched off, it's dead. You can save battery overnight turning on flight mode..
Don't Forget has an option to switch modes at specified times, so you could get your phone to be in Flight mode overnight and still have the alarm sound.

Thanx for your information, guys!
Hi guys, I have just jumped over from samsung to HTC
Imported my Tasker settings over as well.
One of my "tasks" is not working properly.
I have one task that Turns off Data+Wifi from 2300 to 0800. Without Exit task.
However, with HTC sleep mode, i check data consumption over night, it seems that data is still being turned on once a while at night.
Is there a conflict between taskeer and sleep mode?
I've heard some say Stamina mode starts working as soon as you lock your phone and heard others say that it starts 15 minutes after you lock your phone. Does anyone know when Stamina mode kicks in?
This is my situation:
Cleared stamina mode data. Restarted phone.
Enabled Stamina mode
This is not connected to WiFi. It's all LTE only.
No apps is whitelisted, but I am still receiving gmail, epsn, and facebook notifications when the phone is locked.
My observation of Stamina mode. Doesn't immediately take effect after screen is off.
This is what I observed after playing around with Stamina mode on the Z3C. My build version is: 23.0.1.A.5.79 and running Android Version 4.4.4.
When you manually lock the screen it doesn't immediately go into stamina mode, and I can still receive data from all apps and get all notifications.
After about 5 mins of staying locked with no interruption from data received and notifications, Stamina mode will start working and only allow the allowed list of apps to receive data and display notifications. Another observation is that once Stamina mode is working as it should and one of the allowed apps wakes up the screen, Stamina mode will continue block any apps not listed as allowed to receive data and continue to work, which is PERFECT.
However, if any data is received between the time you lock the screen and the 5 min mark, notifications can keep coming from any app until the full 5 mins has gone through with no interruption from any apps data or notifications.
My question is why doesn't Stamina mode take effect immediately after you lock your phone and the screen is off? If it waits for 5 mins and data keeps coming every 1-4 mins, then Stamina mode will never be activated and the battery will drain as normal.
I think i read in the official Sony site that Stamina kicks in after 1 minute of locking the phone. I read so last month.

Looks like there is an article here: "Starting one minute after the screen has been turned off, data traffic is automatically blocked and background activities are prevented from waking up the system" I can't post a link yet since I'm new here, but Add http to this: developer.sonymobile.com/2013/04/03/how-sonys-battery-stamina-mode-works/
Hmmmm. Something must be wrong with my phone then.
I found out that Stamina mode will enable itself based on your usage history. See this article: talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/Battery-time-and-enhancement-features/m-p/347874#U347874

I didnt read anything in there that suggests Stamina Mode turns on automatically. All they said was that the estimated usage will change based on your previous usage.
Hi..
is there a way to automate airplane mode on our watch between 9pm until 6am ?
Are you wanting your phone to be airplane mode or just your watch?
I use Sony Smart Connect for my phone. No idea if it could handle an action on the watch...

just my watch ... the idea is to conserve battery usage at night ..
You could use tasker like i have to switch the screen to off(on the watch) and then switch Bluetooth of from the time you require until a set time in the morning that will turn Bluetooth back on and screen back to always on.

I've consider that .. but although turning-off bluetooth in the phone will stop notification, it'll actually drain the watch because it'll keep trying to connect to the phone ..

Don't bother. You won't gain mych by enabling Airplane mode. What drains battery most is the display (of course depending heavily on your watchface - my ambient mode has just 2 lines of very thin and small text, and it drains next to nothing).
I think what you're looking for is the Cinema mode - just tap the crown twice before going to bed, and twice after you wake up.
Sadly, this mode is incompatible with alarms (on watch) since they are completely silenced as well (including vibrations), but if you use alarm on the phone then you're fine.
... Or you could just disable ambient mode every night, but that's inconvenient.
When I lock the screen, I feel like my S10 enters a heavy sleep mode. I don't receive emails (through Gmail app) on time, Spotify keeps pausing, and group chat messages (those on wifi) are delayed. I have ensured that none of such time sensitive applications are put to sleep. And wifi isn't set to disconnect. Also Google services can't even be modified in terms of its services running!
Does anyone else experience something similar/know what's going on?
***SOLVED***
With adaptive power mode on, your phone automatically switches to a more power saving mode when phone's not in use. Mine was switching to medium-power-saving-mode which had "background network activity" switched to off. I just modified each power mode setting and now I can have the adaptive power mode on and have background activity!
