Hey all.
So I just downloaded Orbot, and I understand that the transparent proxying of my apps won't work unless i have a ROM flashed such as Cyanogenmod so Orbot can use those IP tables. However, I have had bad luck with Cyanogen in the past, so I was wondering if there was any way to download (properly of course) the IP tables that Cyanogen uses without actually flashing the ROM.
for anyone who needs to know, i found a solution. download and run the Iptables (beta) app. Then in Orbot settings, check the box at the bottom to use default IP tables rather than the ones bundled with Orbot.

Okay, so I tried this last year and I gave up and yet, I'm doing it all over again ending up with the same problem:
I have a Mac and I installed Eclipse 3.5.2 Cocoa. So, I want to install the Android Developers Tools (ADT) but whenever I go from Eclipse --> Preferences --> Available Software Sites and I add the site but nothing happens after that. There is no checkboxes to check for "Developers Tools" so I cant move forward to configure the ADT..
Help me out so I can start developing some apps.
Thank You in advance.

Hi,
First of all, I know this belongs to the Development forum, but the server won't let me post there until I get first 10 posts somewhere else...
Anyway, I'm trying to compile my own ROM from Google's repository for the first time (2.3.4), so I have a bit of a trouble finding where things belong. There are some really helpful HOWTOs here, but there's one thing I can't figure out and that's the Superuser app. ChainsDD (the author) apparently recently split the GitHub repository into two (one for the actual su and one for the Superuser apk). Could someone explain to me how to get it working? It would really help me to get some proper first kick, so that I could solve next problems myself.
Thanks,
Dave
I have tried zillion times to access builds for xperia z1 while being in India, but with no luck. I even asked the same question in their respective thread, but no one replied. Any assistance will be helpful.
When I visit the unrestrict.li/FXP/ , I cannot find a branch for CM10.2 or later, and I cannot access even the mirror for their builds.
I know it is possible to access their builds by using VPN services but isn't there a straight way to do that.
Please Help, as I'm being doomed.
Hello,
in my Tasker scripts I use "HTTP Post" to Post some data in Data / File Section.
Now I try to use the newer HTTP Request Method POST, but it seems not full compatible.
With Headers "Content-Type:application/x-www-form-urlencoded" it works sometimes, but still not perfect.
What is the best way for replace the old "HTTP Post" with the same data including url-encoding?
Regards,
Mathias
I've had my S10 for a few years, and it's the first phone I haven't rooted in years. One reason is that I just don't have the time to get up to speed (unless things have changed and rooting is now easier?).
I use the paid version of NetGuard, but am unable to use my vpn at the same time, since NG uses the vpn service. NG doesn't block my DNS.
I'll likely replace this phone in the next year or so, so if rooting has become an easier & less time consuming process, I'd gladly jump on board.
Is there a good no-root firewall that doesn't prevent me from using my vpn?
ANy other advice to secure this unrooted device?
Thanks for any help.

TWRP is available for your device; rooting with Magisk is as simple as flashing it in TWRP. The "official" method is to patch the AP firmware file in Magisk, but this doesn't work for everyone. There are a few guides available such as this one.

No, due to the way networking works on Android. The "VPN" is the loopback that directs your data traffic through the app. My recommendation is to use a VPN with integrated security features such as NordVPN.

Apologies for posting in the wrong forum...I mentioned the device, but felt my question was general to all devices.

Thanks for the link to the guide. I'll check that out. Truth is that I've missed being rooted.

I already use Mullvad vpn and have been happy with it, but am unable to use NG at the same time.
Am I correctly understanding that a vpn and a firewall blocking specified and default outbound traffic can't be used at the same time with no recourse even if rooted?
Thanks for your comments.
