Hello friends,
yesterday i came across some strange issue. I opened my gmail application while my data network was in off mode..
I tried to download one attachment from mail..
It started the download however could not complete it cause data network was off.
Now the download icon is stillshowing downloading attachment..
I tried rebooting cell, power off but doesn't seem to be working...

I had this same issue on my SGSII, tried everything with no sucess, only factory reset worked for me(Sorry).
Be carefull, i don't know if you are in ICS, but if you are, change to Abyss 4.2 before doing this, or else you might brick your Note!!
screenshot suggest he is on ics

Had same issue a few days ago. Just ignored it as other attachments loaded. Just tried again (rebooted the phone yesterday) and it downloaded the PDF, which it didn't do the other day.
I put it down to a carrier error. I wouldn't advise factory reset - at most reflash modem only.
goto settings-->application--> select gmail --> clear cache --> reboot and try downloading again
else use some app to soft reboot/kill inactive processes, for ex : fast reboot or system panel app, then try downloading again
Sam
Had same problem done everything factory reset... Wipe clear bla... Bla... Bla then i uninstalled gmail then installed agn reboot phone problem solved

Do they get stuck at "Downloading" without actually being able to see any progress made at the progress bar?
Did you try clearing the market cache?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
It downloads & then it gets stuck, then it wont download at all until i clear cache & restart

I did a reset but the problem seems to be getting worse 20 restarts before market works.i think my phone itself, might need to send it back for waranty but i need a stock rom any ideas???
Sent from my GT540 using XDA App
Do a search on the market problems first some have posted fixes .
Try factory restore .
If you take it back you need original rom or at least a stock Samsung rom to avoid being charged .
Rom samfirmware.com flash via Odin .

I've just solved it I hope. I changed the sd card and market works some how.I'll see how it goes
Thanks for the response

Hi
I apologise for my english
Thise happened 4 times allredy.
If i install app (no matter wich, last time it was Astro from market) it opens with wellcome window and setings etc.
I close it.
Next time i open it it behaves like it installed first time, opens wellcome window setings etc.
That happens to ewery app installed aftervard.
It is like aps think that they are just instaled, even if i set them and everithing.
Factory reset.
Everithing O.K.
After some thime all start to happen again.
It dosent matter wich app start thise behaviour first, it is random.
I woud like to know why thise is hapening, how i can prevent it and how i can fix it (without factory reset) once it happens.
I need detail instructions and explanation becouse i dont know anithing abaut android.
I use Galaxy S, no root, Froyo 2.2.1.
Thank you in advance
Iztok
Go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications and open the all applications tab. Go to Market, tap it and select Clear Data. Then go back and open the Android Market..open My Apps and all should be well.

That dosent work and i have feeling that you misunderstand my question (becouse of my english).
Thise dosent have anything to do with market. It dosent matter if app is from market. Any app behaves like it is just installed. I apologise becouse my english prevent me from posting question more clearly but your answer have nothing to do with my problem.
Thank you for your answer, and i use thise trick twice before when downloads from market didnt start and market FC.
On some other forum i got replay:
Seems that your phone's NVS is not working.
But i coudnt get them to explain to me what that mean. Anybody know what that means and how i can fix it?
Thank you for your time
Iztok
Anybody understand what i am asking?
Someone had problems with applications that never remembered her configurations,he had to rewrite some linux path for permissions by adb.But there is a fix permission in rom manager, don't know if it can help I'm not aware of that kind of stuff.
Really I'm giving tracks without knowing...and my english...sorry.
Hey! I have the same problem..so annoying. If i run twitter i get a welcome mssg and if i run it couple hours later or reboot my phone..it lost everything..so welcome etc. .all appz does it :-(
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Let's try fix permission in the recovery or by rom manager from the market.Don't know for sure but something like that.(hmmm maybe safer by recovery)

Don't know much either,i mean never tried it myself, the option is in the recovery menu with certain kernels.I see it in my recovery on 2.3 with chainfire CWM.
What rom/firmware/kernel have you?
I'll be sorry if that's not a solution for you but by searching google for your concern that's the only thing i can see...
Thank you.
I did search and didnt find anithing (my english is not good)
I have:
PDA:I9000XFJS4
PHONE:I9000XXJPY
CSC:I9000MOTJS2
Build Info:2011.02
Is that answer to your question?
I didnt root or install custom mods or anithing. I have vanilla Froyo 2.2.1
I also had this problem.
Both my apps tweetcaster and hullinail were telling me to register my accounts even though i already did jus a few hours ago.
Emailed tweetcaster who i didnt get a reply from.
Emailed hullomail, who told me to send them a log and after a few emails told me i needed to reset the phone. This solved it.

Yes factory reset fixes it but i hate that i must install all aps again and tweak all setings. I woud like to know if there is easier.way and what cause it.

there is no way to fix the stock ROM (N7000DDLPA) ?
Please help me...... still i am suffering from this issue.
What i believe is U need hard reset, but on ICS it is not advisable
So first take backup
Flash GB
WIpe cahe n data
Reflash ICS
Restore application backup.
I did the same few weeks ago for some other reason so again. ...
There is no any other option dear?
Or what if I re-flash the same Rom by pc-odin? Advise please.....

Thanks Ketan ji, i am also facing this problem.i do believe that your suggested solution is working & fixing the issue. But my concern is that what is causing this issue? I mean is it ICS or the clipboard function and or keyboard or cache? What is it & how can we detect it & can fix it for good while being on stock rom.
let just started having this problem out of the blue on my sgsIII.
Only a hard reset fixed it since I am not rooted
What could be causing this?
I think Google Chrome may be the issue
I recently flashed the apocalypse ROM a few days ago.
While downloading apps from playstore, it just shows that my download is about to start and then stays like that. The download never starts.
Any idea add to why this may be happening and how to fix it?
I've tried clearing data and cache of the playstore app.
Have attached screenshot.
Resolved.
Don't bother replying.

hi!
my samsung note from vodafone keeps getting error message when trying download or update any apps larger than 7.5mb, when i logged into google play account, the status of those apps were completed. these have been happening for 1 month, since i come back from 3 months holiday overseas. I have factory reset my samsung note when the issues happened, but nothing help.
when i download or update those apps, i would mostly get the error message "package file is invalid" and also "error 911" "error 923". i contacted vodafone and google play support, they checked everything for me and couldn't find any issues between their services and my accounts.
when i shared the wifi to an ipad or a samsung tab, there was no problem downloading on these devices. so the issues are only with my note n7000.
i am wondering if there is any settings that could cap my downloading capacity.
can anyone help me with the issues asap please? it's such a headache!!!
thanks!
Why don't you try wifi, bro? Just a suggestion.

I have the same issue! Thought it was just "normal" or Play Store related, not a problem. Hope there's an answer somewhere.
if you have checked all the settings related to APN, clear data, and cache of Google play and play services, also uninstalled updates, wiped dalvik cache in recovery.. still the same issue. once try to delete the google account and re enter it. and check again
Well there are some 3G packs that limit bandwidth. I dont think its a problem of your device when you can download over wifi. Change your sim and try again with another one.

If everything is stock and you didnt tinker with rom/ google apps then try warrantee.
If warrantee/Samsung cant fix it then try philz kernel for your rom. downoload your csc rom (dial *#06#, to get emei).
then dial *#272*youremeihere# then you know what csc and what rom to download.
Now backup fotos, texts etc (no apps or data) and go into recovery mode, on phillz kernel and wipe everything, also in advanced (only dalvik) Go to mounts and format everything (take out sdcard before)
Now head into download mode, confirm and flash the rom via pc odin (dr ketans thread stickied in development section)
It should be working again after this.
all at own risk
