I've had this issue on several different ICS Roms...
No matter which browser I'm using whenever I go to make a flash video large my browser either freezes or force closes. The videos work if I watch them on the site but whenever I click the button to enlarge them and have them full screen they mess up.
Any ideas?

Can anyone replicate my problem?

I would be glad to try. Please describe specifically what you are doing. Name a video that fails for you.

Video playback is a hit/miss on ics. Some have problems, some don't. Try using mx player (market/play store).

I was wondering if its natural for my Hero not to be able to play mp4 media. Is there an app that I need to enable it?
Thanks all you smart ppl for your time

What rom are you using?
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
YXPlayer in the Market plays everything
Lol no that's an app. A rom is the interface of your phone so I'm going to assume your running the stock htc sense rom..., is that right? What happens when you try playing the video?

I'm running CM6 with CFS kernel.

Problem located sir, I had the same problem when I flashed cyanogen awesomness. I had a topic on this same problem last week. Well here what I discovered, cyanogen just does not play well with mp4. Not sure why but I tried everything to find a fix.. Unfortunately the only fix I was able to find was I converted all of my mp4's into 3gp I can't think of the program I used off hand but it worked great. Fast and easy to do... I'll post the program name when I get a chance.. There is no app to fix this problem.. if u insist on keeping mp4 try drastically reducing the video quality of the file that MIGHT work

A3gp was the program you can find it on softpedia.. If you have problems send me your e mail and I'll send it that way

Does anyone know if you can modify the camera app to pause the video recording during recording and then resume without stopping? My infuse 4g used to do this and i liked it a lot but this on case on my note. Im running ics RocketROM v7 if it matters. Thanks for any input.

So for the past 2 weeks I've been trying like crazy just to play my .avi (xvid) and .mp4 tv shows but all I'm getting is unwatchable choppy playback on every single player from the play store. Vplayer, dice player, Mx player, BS player, mvideo player, mobi player, you name it.
Tried darkyrom 10.2, darkyrom 11, cm9 nightly 20120804, cm9 stable 20120810, aokp milestone 6, ezbase (gingerbread), and the above with their stock kernels and the semaphore 1.2.5, 1.2.5s, 1.2.6, 1.2.6s kernels.
I remember froyo was smoooooth. I used to watch 4gb 720p files on mvideoplayer and vplayer without any problems. Is this a limitation with our phones or has someone found a perfect combination of rom and kernel for good playback?
Any help appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried any JB roms? And has your playback been bad on all ics roms?

Yes, I tried Slim Bean, same issue + general laggines everywhere in general so I came back to Slim ICS which I love.
Other than slim ics, I used cm9. Same issue.

I was going to try slim ics I guess there's no point in that either. Hopefully cm10 does the trick :/

Can anyone confirm this.
I feel that the loading of videos on youtube app is slower compared to loading it in a browser.
I know the loading depends on internet speed but i just feel that its slower using the youtube app.
Can anyone confirm this or is this kernel or rom related?
I am using note core v14 and stock rom.
Tia!

No observable issues with Hydracore 4b with stock 4.0.4
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Xparent SkyBlue Tapatalk 2
yeah may be because the app always try to play videos in hd format if available. so miye take time to download the initial data.. In browser.. it takes the default 360

Maybe that's why, thanks!

How do you make you tube app to default load it to non hd? Im tired of waiting to load for the hd version when i watch...

if u use 3g then there is an option in YouTube settings.
If wifi then as soon as u play the video go to landscape mode and click the HD button to deselect.
but u have to do this in every video

Thanks in advance

Try different Media Player to see if happen all the time or it's just the app.
When i use QQplayer or a different player
the problem is still there.
