[SOLVED]CWM script command to modify lcd density? - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I use cm9 with 240 lcd density.
The problem is whenever I flash a nightly, I have to modify density manually.
I want to know if I can create a cwm script which I can always flash with the nightly to modify the density.
Please dont advice to use apps to do it like lcd density modder, etc. I am well aware.
Thanks!
EDIT: Succeeded in making it. File attached.

Look into creating a flashable zip file. Also look into adding code to delete old line and insert new line in buildprop.
Shouldnt be to hard. But thats easily spoken. Its to difficult for me.

I have NEVER had to type system/bin before sensorcalibutil_yahama.
What does the zip file do?
Flashable zip?
*edit* nevermind I just peeked inside the zip.
For post above me, you flash through clockwork, and it flashes the calibration tool needed.
And btw its no included at all in gb, hence the need for this to be flashed
Sent from my SPH-D700
ran the calibration tool and it made no difference
No difference here either. Doesn't really bother me much tho.

Guess they thought gingerbreads version would work? So no difference huh?
Well thanks for getting this still Marcusant.
Just a thought, but wouldn't you need the other files that go with it? If i knew how to compile one of these zips, i would edit it and see if it worked >.>

I would think you could just download a rom open it up with winrar and copy it out and post it with credits and permission of coarse, just to be safe
Well the reason i mentioned the 3 files, is that sensorcalibutil_yamaha was the only file that's flashed in this fix. Hence why it might not work? Again, i know nothing of fixes and development on Android, but from a programming perspective, i would say they're dependent files...
Who knows... If anyone feels like taking the time to re-create this fix with the files listed, it just may work. =\

Drag them into the zip and post it. Trust me, Marcusant probably doesn't mind the whole permission thing.

I did all that... edited the update script... and it bricked my phone. I'll hve to do my research, cause I have a feeling that it's not as easy as just dropping files into a zip

Why do you even want to build a flashable zip only to modify BUILD.PROP file? Just use Root Explorer and edit the file, save it and reboot. You'll see the changes.

Never mind, I found a flashable zip that did it.

May be because the file names are different. You may need to do it manually by referring to the zip file.

I'm not sure I understand? Should I rename the zip file before I flash it? If so, what should I rename it to?
no.. what the zip does is to a particular file. if that file doesnot exist on your current rom then it will not work. open the zip and check its script. you will see what it modifies. then manually check if you have the files that its changing in you rom..
OK, I looked in that zip file but I have no idea how to tell how to do it manually.

There are 2 files to be edited
melfas-touchkey.kl
sec_touchkey.kl
There should be four lines in these files. Add a hash (#) in front of each line.

Yes, there are some tutorials about how to make your own apps. For example, what I did to begin was to take an existing an App (SDL for windows 95 emu), change something in it and then rebuld the app. It worked on my old Optimus 2x. We could try to build simple zips and see how they behave.
I don't know exactly how far you can go if you're thinking about chanching the system, but don't try it too hard until we get some material to work with.
If you want, PM me and we could try to begin that way (I suppose we we both have the O4X)

Since you copied ONLY the Swype.apk and libraries, and that Swype is made for stock ROM. That's mean you have to copy TouchWiz related library, permission, and configuration.

Yep, so i tried it on CM7.2
Simply copying TW Properties isn't gonna make it work. Some build.prop line must be the problem.
