MIUI v4 for Legend
Found this ROM made by Cofface in a Chinese forum for the HTC Legend. As you might of guessed it is an MIUI v4 port for our phone. There's still many things not working which I'm going to try and get working. This ROM still isn't fully translated and I don't recommend you use this as your daily driver just yet. It has MAJOR speed/responsiveness problems. I've modified the build.prop to try and make it faster and included a default overclock.

it looks really good but sadly its very laggy and not very usable - its an alpha version :S

It should port MIUIv4 to any device. Actually we have a ICS ROM ( zeubea's ROM ). I wanted to try this but I can't download the official ROMS from MIUI servers ( http://miuiandroid.com/community/threads/miui-rom-2-5-18-roms.16608/ ). Maybe this can help.

Hi All,
I have successfully ported miui v4 with some essential parts are working; wifi, call/sms, usb storage (using UMS), browser etc.
At this stage, it is usable but have some bugs to be fix before can make it perfectly working.
1.One of the bug are the signal bar stays the same regardless how bar i have.
2. some UI glitches, for example in root explorer when i press menu and then when i replied the sms from the pop up, when it reach the second line, the same glitches will come out.
I'm very new in this kind of things, mostly i just do some simple modding. I hope any Devs or any members can help me or at least to show or even just to guide me where i can fix the bugs before i can go to zeubea and ask his permission (i use his ROM as base) and share it here.

When i have free time, i will upload the file to mediafire and pm you the link so that we can play it together.. anyone interested also can pm me and i will give the link. i wont post the link or even open the thread yet because i havent pm zeubea for his permission yet plus eventhough it is working, there's still many issues need to resolved.
Right now i'm stuck at the graphics glithces in several places; sms pop up, sms app conversation list when i rotate the screen, menu in root explorer etc and i have no idea which files that responsible for the behaviour and whatever comes out from logcat seems like an alien language to me
some other issues are torch not working (not a dealbreaker for me)
But the signal bar now fixed, usb storage also working and no need to use UMS.apk workaround anymore, themes seems working fine, changing dpi also doesn't break any apps, camera working fine with flash, performance are good so far...

Thanks again. Really appreciate your offer. I'm not a dev, just some normal modder that desperate to see MIUIv4 up and running in our lovely device. So, any helps is really really appreciate.

Workarounds:
1. Superuser, need to go to setting and open automatic response, set to allow or else root permission will be denied (no pop up asking for permission)
2. hardware buttons backlight is not working "automatically". had to change brightness to make it work and wont light up again once screen is wake up or brightness set to auto. workaround is to tap once at brightness to make it auto and then tap once again to go back to your brightness.

How did you go about porting this? Like what guide did you use and what ROM did you get the MIUI parts from? Also, do you plan to rebase it off zeubea's latest CM9 Beta4? Great job on the ROM, can't wait to get home and test it.

At first, i search on the net for the guides, there is some in xda and some in miui.us forum.
However, foolowing it give me boot loop each time. So, i just do it my way.
I take many ROM to try out (galaxy ace, sony xperia etc) but none working until i use wildfire s ROM. Once it is bootable, only then i go and look for the issues and the fix from the net (faster way) as i dont have much free time to look into the apk files and fix the issue. Somemore, i only have one phone, this is my only phone to communicate so, you can imagine how furious my gf if she can't call me the whole day LOL ;p

I try to rebase the ROM to 2.7.15 and CM9 Beta 4. Once done, i will post the link here for everyone to play around and fix the bugs.

LCD density intentionally set to 133 for my usage. Forgot to mention it. Later i will include the patched play store.

While I'm waiting for the ICS MIUI release by TJ_Style or someone else,
I played around with GB MIUI 2.2.3... And this is an answer for they who asked me to post my modified MIUI. Finally I got bandwidth to upload it
I am not an android developer, my knowledge is very limited, I just tried to make my android phone more comfortable for me. By posting this, hope you like it either.
It seems everything works just like MIUI 1.11.11, I just add some features on 2.2.3. And for GPS... It can locked in seconds.
Here's what I've added:
- SpeedDeemon Kernel v5.0
- Ads blocker hosts included
- ICS Lockscreen
- ICS themed keyboard
- ICS open/close window effect
- Modified theme based on Black Ice theme as default
- MIUIv4 theme (an option if you're not comfortable with dark theme)
- My Google splash screen
- 4 Way boot
- Spareparts tools
- Compass
- google maps streetview
- CM7 camera beside MIUI camera
- Angry GPS
- SD card tweak ( to make read sdcard faster )
- Sony Bravia Engine
- Some additional sounds
- etc...
Removed:
- MIUI talk
- MIUI status
For haptic feedback, you've to set manually.
Search button => Menu => Search settings => tick ON for Settings and go back to Search then type "Tweak", open "Haptic feedback tweaks" and do the setting in "Set Down Patern" only.

You can get it at here and flash it using CWM.
Apply update-patch-miui-2.2.3-CKr1u1.zip file attached to solve alarm setting issue and change audio library.
Attached DSP Manager if you need it.
For MIUI Extended Settings mod, you can flash this update and follow by installing this MIUISettings application. Thanks to Free Radical for the file.
Native Wifi tether still not working. You can use this Wireless Tether from Market as I always use it even native wifi is working , just suggestion.
Applying directly from RC3 and Sharp rom will not work. You have to apply it from other rom (RC1, RC2, other stock, CM7 and other MIUI will work).
Wipe data right after flash is a strong suggestion, so the rom will has the fresh space to work and won't find the weird things that isn't has to be.
* After get the first boot, wait until the system settled and then reboot again. The second boot actually is the first fresh boot!
I am not responsible for any damages (bricking/phone ruining) occurred while flashing or using this ROM. By using this ROM, you understand that I am not liable for any or all consequences of using this ROM. If you don't know what you're doing, DON'T TRY IT.
Upgrade/Downgrade tips for MIUI users:
* Always make backup, here is the options:
- Nandroid backup (This is the best options, but takes time and large sdcard space)
- MIUI BackUp + Titanium backup
With MIUI BackUp you can backup all your settings of your MIUI, including messages, Settings,
dektop layout, call logs, Contacts and else, but I suggest you not to backup Contacts (Just do online
synchronize to google) you will get double contacts when restored and get synchronize automatically,
pick one you like. You can backup apps with MIUI Backup but Titanium Backup much better.
Prefer not to backup Theme Setting for integrated MIUI Theme, except you use the exported one in
your SD card.
* You can do it without wipe data, but the suggestion to do so.
* Do wipe cache for sure
* If you do wipe data, reboot twice right after flashed, at the first boot the miui will do
a lot works to make it settle, the second boot will be the first fresh boot after all.
* If you used MIUI backup to backup MIUI Settings and you will restore it, do restoring applications
at first followed by restoring Miui settings. And DO NOT backup and restore Wifi Settings, it will make
boot loop.
* As like other roms, battery calibration is something you should do right after flashed a new rom. Here is the simple step to do it:
After your battery very low (as low as you can ), charge it until really full (about 4.2 V) without
interrupted then wipe your battery status at CWM, and use it until the battery drained and again
charge it until really full without interrupted.

but urs made me one real great rom i love the widgets its just that im more confy with zeam launcher and it works good to
camera,wifi and data work fine for me as for the battery ill try it and keep u posted but i did read somewere that the miui rom battery is not all that great any way ill keep u posted on the same latter

Bugs are inherited from 1.11.11 build, except pulse notification led is now working and screen blinking while in call is gone.
And may be others bug , I don't know.
everything works on this rom ? bluetooth problem solve?

No In call or out call volume issue .... in fact no need to toggle also.

What ever it may be, ROM is quite smooth with new gmail and market.
but HOST mail function is not working for me, trying to configure my yahoo over there but not able to , any solution for that or need to use third party application?

I tried to connect to my friend where his phone use as host, there is no problem at all, I can connected easily.
but when my phone became a host, others phone cannot connected, always stuck at requiring ip address...

Native Wifi Tether worked perfectly for me on MIUI11111+your update. Will revert post flashing this ver.
Update - There seems to be some problem in this ver for Native WIFI Tether, On Switching ON, it displays "turning on' for a long time, then there is no confirmation if it has turned on or not, no orange WIFI ICON displaying tether is on, however my laptop is able to detect ANDROIDAP but connects with limited access ???? Was not able to browse through in any case.
This was working perfectly on the earlier MIUI+your update.
Overall good effort, nice to have the Spare Parts option like in CM. I have been on MIUI for a long time now and it has become my daily use ROM. Any updates will be most definitely be welcome !
Update 2 - Cac, There seems to be some issue with WIFI (not sure if it is due to issues at my end, checking thoroughly in any case) . Displays WIFI MAC as unavailable on checking in Status
everytime i try to enter clock and edit alarm, the phone will enter reboot looped

Yes for me you are correct, I am also having incoming call volume issue(let's call it ICVI for short). But I have had ICVI ever since i bought the device and moved to MIUI. None of the MIUI builds or fixes including tasker have helped this. So I am living with it.

Not experienced ICVI on MIUI11111+CaC update, expect on the first 2/3 calls.
I've been using mokee v0.3 for sometime now and I'm really pleased with it because its FAST (coming from MIUI ). At the same time it saddens me to see lot of people abandoning mokee because it has some glitches. So I made this patch for those who want to make mokee their every day rom and for those who don't want to try it in the first place because of its short comings.
What this patch fixes:
1. headset (both headsets and headphones work)
2. GPS (locks now and fast)
3. haptic feedback for virtualkeys (back, menu...)
4. busybox (there are multiple instances of busybox in /system/xbin and /system/bin/busybox.bin) and fixes symlinks too.
5. low In call volume
6. SoD fix
what you need to flash if you are using mokee for the first time:
1. Mokee v0.3
2. mOCk Kernel
3. this patch.

FM/HDMI has never worked for any custom rom(not based on stock).
undervolting: mock takes care of
2 way recording: the person on the other side has low volume
battery: awesome (my perception)
front cam:90 degrees flipped preview but shoots right. (do u really use that camera? its the worst. I dont even use it to check my face!!)
kernel:no new drivers. if you have been following the forums regularly you'll know the new kernel has issues and the old one is better for gaming.

I don't know why but heptic feedback (default one) is Ok with me, when I tried your patch face memory issue, sometime it wen to 40 - 45, so I freashly installed and used headset fix patch and GPS lib patch poste by you seperatly... now happy with no low memory issue ... .

To use this rom to best extend please use following steps.
1. Install RC3 first.( Bcoz due to flashing so many roms phone may become slow.
2.Wipe Everything( Factory reset, Cache, battery stats).
3. Install rom and reboot after it reaches to first screen.

Transition animation scale(0.5X)
Select Don't keep activities
Background process limit (no OR 1)( Need to do this after every reboot)

There may be But I don't have an idea
tested this ROM too (and still on that)
Till time means from last 5 - 6 hr using ROM but didn't face any white screen issue for FB and Mail.
Major issue for me are
1. Reboot
2. Playstore not working
Flashed test rom, it is very good, stable, smooth
the only thing I want to say is, it cannot play Battleheart, I have try many ICS but no can play battleheart.
I don;t know why,I can run but only work with first touch, after that the touch is no respond.
Hope you know the problem and fix it, thank you for you rom

use third party apps like wired tether and USB mount.
i do have a wifi connection problems. System show the connection is established. But the icon stays grey and i can't login or surf the net.
The connection were ok while i run only the mobile network.

WiFi working fine with me, did you install from fresh wipe? ie. SUTLR RC3 + format system/data/cache + Flash CM9.1 Flash GAPPS + Reboot ??
i had WiFi SOD until i installed Advanced WiFi Lock, now running fine.
Bug is settings not changing.. after reboot it changes...
No ics camera app
For me the wifi if it works the problem is with the tethering

It's quite an awkward issue but it also happens to me..
The game goes into multitouch mode(i don't know why??))..
But when you will touch any button on screen with 2 fingers [/B ]together it will work..

DO one thing.
extract latest playstore app from any of other rom ( PHONESKY.apk) copy to system /App and set permissions.

although I am not on this ROM, but ya its a good ROM for those want ICS on their mobile.... Definitely its really good but I would rate more to your GB ROM's than this... Fully functional .... without any lag , perfect Gamers ROM with good battery Life and stable ... what else I need apart from these goodies. Although I am not a fan of pure CM ROMs still I am on your other RC2 ROM because of stability. Waiting for your Lewa too ... (Although it's too demanding I would love to taste your MIUI V4)

There seem already many AOSP builds for NS, but I'm just pleased to share my personal build with you. I took the Google source and CM kernel/vendor as a base and have done lots of optimization work. My changes for NS after forking CM vendor were listed in the changelog of the initial build. Devs can check out commits on my github. It may worth a note that it's AOSP so never request extra features. No doubt I will keep it as stock as possible.

if you go to settings superuser then u will se that u cant change anything in superuser settings..
also check with root checker..
but don't worry !! this is nothing for this super rom !! I try all aosp 4.3 rom and this is the best for me !!

I tried changing settings in Superuser, every option works like charm. I always chased the changes of Superuser by Koush and the hack in that Superuser zip was included in my ROM. Afaik the tweak is just to run '/system/bin/su --daemon' for the root requirement.

*now I remember that I get notification that su is out date and I forget to click ...
Downloaded and installed the latest superuser.zip and the su binary out of date notification is gone
Very good job. So happy to see the deveopment for our old phone continues.
Now, I can confirm Superuser doesn't work. Flashing SuperSU from recovery fixed the issue pretty fast.
Other than that the ROM is very solid and smooth. I tested SMS, Location services, Wi-Fi, left phone without a charge for a night. No problems so far. Will test bluetooth streaming later today in my car.
I have the same issue with calendar like any other non google build has, I have two of them, one is AOSP build another is Google's from the play store. That doesn't bother me.
Also, I still want to know what kind of "optimization" was done. Also, can anyone test MTP for me? I turned it on using USB Switcher, but my computer didn't recognize the device.

Although you guys have fixed it manually, I still hope someone can paste the output of command 'getprop persist.sys.root_access' and check if the /system/xbin/su is running when you can't get root permissions. just had a closer look at your build and found the interesting property 'ro.sys.fw.bg_apps_limit' in your build.prop which is set to 8. Are you sure this works in your build ? (I only ask because this was seen only in CM until now)...

Yeah, CM merged that commit from Codeaurora afaik. Bet you haven't checked out my github yet. xD

I connect the phone to car radio so it ok !
for root you can flash the superuser from koush too ...
use marmite kernel for mtp ...
I use other gapps so I don't have the problem with two calendar ..only one I get the green one ...

Thanks for your suggestion. Actually I once changed MAX_HIDDEN_APPS back the default value in Gingerbread for low memory devices nine months ago. Check this commit. ro.sys.fw.bg_apps_limit was just introduced by Codeaurora recently. And yeah CM have already reverted this prop and added a new prop for high memory (> 1.5GB) devices since more CM supported devices hold more memories nowadays. I'll ignore that commit.

becouse that I again tried to install this rom on my s3 I9300 for the third time and do a more in-depth analysis.
All I can report is as follows:
1. Message okay! I was wrong before. Messages can be received by the appropriate contact name.
2. USSD code gives me white as in the picture message.
3. The phone stopped when used, sometimes directly rebot
4. Sidekey give a black background image! unlike other note4 theme. and I do not get sidekey toegle in the notification panel.
5. The image was contact only black and white color not like other contact phone note4 theme.
6. Random reboots I've experienced a few times.
7. wifi, data, hostpots and thatering okay I have tried! all good ! But just have 3g signal not H + / H like as before.
8. keyboard can not be replaced on the board language keyboards. Always english uk only! Although of the settings are changed with my country languange.
(Very nice if this rom using keyboard s5 from 4.4.2 unlike the others which use the keyboard 4.4.4. ) Why? Becaose can be mod with s5 keyboards many theme from this forum as rom ahuan mybe!) .
9. Management Ram, batteries and performance have not been able to provide an opinion but a glimpse is not bad and is still very likely to be increased.
Forgive me this long post. Hope can provide input for improvement of this rom to next version!

1. Ussd test i dont get link always give 404 page not found. But i have ussd fix to another rom. But failed. I will pm you to try that.
2. All your update in change log v3 all work for me. Mokee List view animation very great and working smothly! You give different touch from the others. I really appreciate for this choice.
3. Phone and ussd still not not work for me. That is mind problem in your rom i think.
Internet simcard oke!, Sms oke! MMS i dont try! but phone still have problem.
I have promote your trit in my forum and all of my member have tried get the same problem.
If i call my contack always give me massage "conention problem or invalid MMI code. You can see that in my atach picture.

I love you chose a classic s3 walpeper for deferend but I think this is still less. In my observation that there are 3 major wallpaper is preferable users s3. 1. Classic s3 walpeper just as you give, 2. yellow walpeper s5 but not like the one in your walpeper, 3. Note4 walpeper. You can see 2 another in my atach picture.
Very nice packaging with this rom if you can take triple greates wallpaper it in your rom. Combine clasic and modern s3 walpeper!
Sorry I can not help tecnically solutioan becouse not in my skill for to do that. I can only test and provide feedback what user s3 want as i feel. Almost all rom-based ports arter97 with note 4 theme I have tried. Nothing like that you give. You will be great because this ported!

Classic s3 walpeper just as you give, 2. yellow walpeper s5 but not like the one in your walpeper, 3. Note4 walpeper. You can see 2 another in my atach picture.
Very nice packaging with this rom if you can take triple greates wallpaper it in your rom. Combine clasic and modern s3 walpeper!
Sorry I can not help tecnically solutioan becouse not in my skill for to do that. I can only test and provide feedback what user s3 want as i feel. Almost all rom-based ports arter97 with note 4 theme I have tried. Nothing like that you give. You will be great because this ported!

At first thanks for that amazing Rom. I used it on I9300 with my favorite Beoffla Kernel.
At first time I have often random reboot and fc's. Now I set in Kernel 7.1 zram 600 zzmove optimal swapiness 90 and LMK 25 60 80 96 120 and all works fine.
Is it possible that other users post their settings

Instal normaly like other apk and can be use if you chose theme in home.

I Rooted my i9300 and downloaded and Installed it . after showing samung galaxy sIII it is BLANK...! :/ Im really new at installing Rom on s3 and could use help please thank u

Becouse you not instal the kernel. Rom not include kernel and modem. This rom use old modem and kernel in your rom before. So after flash rom you must flash arter backtonoot kernel i9300 or boefla kernel 7.x. then this rom can work.

The download link [ver 6 or 5 or even4.1] doesnt work, atleast for me. When I click - it tries to open mega page but fails every single time.

With Archer Kernel i have now also FC and reboot on my I9300 so I tried zuzemanis tip http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=57550446
Now I am testing the linaro zzmove from here

Its based on beoffla but it is a little faster and runs very smooth.
Thince then I have no FC and reboot. Now this is my favorite Kernel with great Zzmove
