My P970 running now on the latest stable CM7. Running smoothly so for that no problems...
When looking at the phone running services, missing the LG Sync service?
Hopped to my PC and started the LG PC Sync tool, and yes, not able to connect
Is there a way to inject/install the LG Sync service on my phone? Or need to do something else to get it running?
Need to restore my contacts... FYI all contact vcf files are stored localy on my PC, is it possible to restore these files on another way?
There are apps in the market for that.

Hi guys, I am just about to throw my phone and my computer across the room! lol.
I have been trying for a week to get Kies working on my laptop (Win XP 32 bit)
I am getting the usual MTP driver errors. I have tried everything i have found after hundreds of google searches. I have formatted my internal SD, installed drivers, uninstalled kies and drivers and reinstalled. still nothing!
I need to update my firmware as I am using JF3 and i keep getting the SMS sending/recieving issues. I have been told that JF4 will fix (Optus Australia). I need to update in a way that will not viod my warranty. I want the official Optus latest firmware.
What are my options? I am sick of my phone being useless all the time not sending/recieving sms, not recieving calls, until i reset the phone.

Use a 3rd party messaging app, like ChompSMS.
How important is it to actually have Kies recognize your phone? I recently upgraded Kies to the latest version and now it doesnt recognize my phone at all. Instead of tinkering with this issue for hours, I'm wondering whether its even worth it?
Suppose 2.2 comes out, couldn't we just use Odin to flash the phone with the new firmware?
Also, looks like there's a workaround to getting the Kies firmware upgrade WITHOUT actually having Kies recognize your phone! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=758429

you don't really need Kies at all
i only use it to check for official new ROM release, that's all
for everything else i sync with my gmail account and via AppBrain
I'm in Canada, on Bell. using the baseband version i9000UGJL2. Its not rooted or anything.
it started yesterday, but I can't connect to twitter, through apps, or even through the web browser. It will work if I have the phone on Wifi, but it won't work on 3G/HSPA. All other apps and websites work fine.
There's appearantly a new firmware out, but Kies won't let me update to it. I tried using the registry editor to force the update, but when the process starts, it stops and says its not available for my firmware version.
I had to use Kies (older version back around the new year) & the 1.7 reg editor to force update to froyo. Is there anything else I can do with what I've got? Or do I need to look into rooting it? I'm kind of new to all this, so any help would be appreciated. TIA

Most likely a Twitter/ your Twitter account /settings problem as its both an app and web problem .
Rooting will not help that's only gaining administrator rights over your phone .

Hi all.
I have a backup of my contacts on my PC with Kies. I just recently installed MIUI on my SGSi9000 so I now cannot connect the phone with Kies.
I know I should have researched earlier but I didn't, and now I would like to be able to access the contacts (as there are a few to say the least...) so I can sync them to my GMail account, which will then be synced with my phone.
Was wondering if I could find a way to open the files (from my Contacts001 files there is a .spb, .spb.bak, .spk.bak2, .csv.bak, .csv.bak2 * .csv.bak3).
If there is no possible way, how can I get rid of MIUI and go back to a Froyo ROM? Can I just flash a 3 file FW w/ .pit or is there another way I need to go about and do it?
Any help is appreciated.

Fixed it myself... Opened Contacts001.csv.bak in Notepad and there were the contacts and their numbers next to them. Thanks anyways.

Yesterday i installed version 4.1.2 (nightly) and i have a couple of issues:
- Many contacts are missing. Loaded my Facebook and Google accounts but not all contacts where loaded
- I can't connect to Kies cause the phone only recognizes usb connection. I cant find the option i had before where i had 3 options (Kies, usb, developer). And since this happens i cant load my saved contacts
Ideas ??
CM10 never supported Kies. If you want to use kies you will need to use a rom based on stock rom, so no ics or jb roms.

My problem here is that for some reason my phone isnt synchronizing with the facebook contacts aldo the account is ok.
If i choose to display the google contacts i also dont get the full range of contacts.
Cant understand why.
If browsed the contacts in KiesAir and they'r in the phone...just not showing :\
