hi!
Sorry bad english, but...
P920 rom compatible with P925g?
And work it, if a p920 cwm backup (2.3 gingerbread) recovered in p925 (2.2.2 froyo)?
too difficult the update in to 2.3 for me...
(after a Galaxy S)
thx answer!
p920 roms are compatible with p925. But you will have to flash a stock p920 baseband first. Thereafter you can put any rom of p920. :-D (Just flash with the lg support tool and it will do the baseband flashing too :-D )
Flashing guide is here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22417769&postcount=1
(thanks to the dark lestat)
*v21E firmware is recommended !
You got be careful with recover thing. I have no idea about it.
Hit thanks if you value my reply.

V21E_00.kdz Download
thanks!
and last question:
what are improvements in the v21?
better battery life time?
more speed, better stability?
sorry for the question asked, this is the last
i using the stock 2.2.2 rogers rom: good stability, good battery, loud camera sound, english language...
which I would love: silent camera, longer battery life, good stability, hungarian language...of course
and optional 3g or 4g...
v21e is the gingerbread update which includes :
very good battery life
2D to 3D game converter
higher network speeds
some improvements in camera
plus more...!
Rogers upgrade
Do you know if this v21e is good and compatible with Rogers Canada LGP925g ?
PS: I Like to change my firmware I have a lot'S Ghost Call issue and missing text with V20c
KaNiMziE
yes its compatible. p925g is the same as p925 thrill. So no problem of installing v21e.
v21e is ghost call free...!
hit thanks..!

You probably don't have all the drivers installed. Uninstall what you have, restart, and than install the drivers.
Or maybe you forgot to enable USB debugging

Hey once i had the same issue as your with the b2c setup. :-D
Try to install the b2c app the very beginning of the process. It could probably be something you changed during the process. Changing port to 9002 or replacing the host file.
If you have already changed the above things, undo them.! Restart the pc and try again.
*at the beginning uninstall all the usb drivers + flashing software.
If you still can't solve the problem you may have to reinstall or repair your windows..! I know its frustrating but i had to do it to my friends pc to get over this issue.. :-(
Hit thanks if you value my reply :-D
Sorry, but not working for me this dark lestat's guide...and other guide...
However slightly different yes!
Own version is work:
1. install drivers
2. install b2c...and close (LG ikon on the tasbar)
3. install msxml.msi
4. plug in phone to pc in usb debugging mode (for drivers finishing installation...the phone is on, don't touch)
5. install shttp, setting http port to 9002, backup hosts file, and overwrite it in to MOD folder...
6. run windows enabler and turn on (on the taskbar)
7. run the UpTestEx...and follow dark lestat's guide...the kdz file flashing full automatic (no need boot into download mode, no need unplug the battery...)
8. full wipe
Running LG-920 Optimus 3D V21E on my At&t LG Thrill 4G LG-925 and it works excellent, No problems whatsoever, couldn't be more happy losing the bloatware.
Also if I may add I do receive HSPA speeds on my phone without any base band alterations whatsoever.

Yes sir. The kdz file includes the baseband.

? Which. Kdz file has just the p925 baseband? The v10e has both.
EDIT: Was able to flash the .fls to my phone to restore the P925 Froyo BB. Was able to do the .kdz a few nights ago and get my p925 bb back with v10e, but tried last night to flash back to froyo after trying a p920 BB and when I flashed the v10e BB the phone was still recognized as p920. This is the reason why I ask the above question.
Thanks in advance,

I'm really stumped on this one so I hope someone can help.
It started when the v10d update was pushed via PC Suite last night. So I went ahead and happily updated it. Rooting it immediately and removing certain LG apps that I've always removed (including LGHome, LG IME, etc.)
1st major problem happened when I tried to go into recovery (vol down + power), only to remember that I haven't reinstall CWM yet. An LG progress bar appeared, and a full wipe commenced.
That issue was fixed with a Smartflash to an open Euro v10c ROM.
I have now restored to my stock v10b ROM, but when I connect to PC suite, it's telling me that I'm on v10d and there are not updates available! I've tried uninstall/reinstalling PC suite. Even restarting the phone. But I am still stuck with the same message.
I'd like to go through the OTA update again since it saved all my apps and it was (well kinda) hassle-free.
Help?
Delete the drivers & pc suite from the pc, then reinstall and reconnect, it did the job for me

A.... now drivers I didnt remove. Will try it now. Thanks for the reply mate.
I removed both PC Suite and LG United Drivers, same thing though, it's telling me that my current v10b is up to date. When I just received a v10d update yesterday.
TrymHansen helped me get a solution.
Just flash an older BB! As we know, nandroids don't touch the BB partition, and apparently, that is where LG PC Suite is looking at. I downgraded my BB to 0405, and LG is now telling me to update again.
My BB is 0405, but still it wont tell me that ugrade is avaible :S
Please help me
my bb also 0405 and its telling me its up to date
solution, anyone???

You don't need root to flash bb use smartflash for this. According to my tests with bb it sometimes fixes the quality of the call nd reduces battery usage but some don't I got new bb + new til this morning form the forums and now its works really great

i could get usb connection when i was using my phone newly(i bought it for 3days), and when i flash CM7 nightly and the kang kernel, both done yesterday, i could not connect my 2x to my notebook
what i mean "could not connect" is, i could charge my phone through usb, and there was a sound when i plug the usb to the notebook, it cannot detect my phone. i tried to re-install the usb driver but there was an error.
is that mean there's a problem when i flashing cm7?
or is it bug of cm7, or do i need to flash the stock rom back???
by the way, i tried to download the stock rom from this site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1035041
but it said "This service is temporarily not available from your service area."
can anyone help me to upload the rom through sth like mediafire so that i could try to re-flash the stock rom again or tell me what should i do ?
if i can do nothing at least i want to flash the stock rom back and go to LG and ask for repair
No I think this is driver related. AOSPs rom use a different driver and the lg one doesn't work. Uninstall it and it should work, or use linux. If you want to return stock, you should use smartflash

Got the same problem with CM7 nightly (204), sometimes i could connect it just after a reboot, for like 30 seconds, and it was lost again. Did not find a work around though, since i did not like CM7 and swapped it for a stock V20o. Did not experience this problem anymore with that stock rom (leaked V20o rebuild by Hell_97).

Try using MyPhone Explorer for syncing the device for SMS,FILES,CONTACTS,PICTURES and Organizer....etc...It works perfectly well with any ROM.(if your problem was syncing....)....u can also connect to your PC via wifi or bluetooth to this app installed on the PC
Seriously.. go an check the device manager under windows. I found many times that issues where the driver for the phone was not working properly and either removed it from the device manager and rescanned, or reinstalled the driver on the effected device. Give it a go
could any tell me where can i download the usb driver for cm7 nightly??
Hi,
I've search thru the forums and tried several things, but haven't found a solution.
My problem is that I no longer can make a USB-connection to my O2X.
The only thing that works in the micro-usb is charging. What I tried:
- Smartflash (power-up without battery while holding vol-)
- NVFlash (power-up without battery while holding both vol-buttons)
- Ordinary USB-connection (flash-drive)
- Cleaned it for dust
All of this was done on different windows machins (WinXP and Win7), all USB-ports and different USB-cables (inlcuding one that I know has worked before). Windows don't even show me the device.
The reason why I want to flash is that I think the current baseband (that I flashed) is not the best for my phone. So I want to try another baseband.
Do any of you have a suggestion on how to fix my phone or is the hardware toasted?
Best regards
Anders
Unable to install stock rom
DEAR MEMBERS
please help me i am running cm7.2 in my o2x and want to go back to stock rom.
i have downloaded smartflash tool and stock rom fls and bin files and done the entire procedure as mentioned in the guide
but when i press start button it asks to install odm which is not mentioned in the steps.
when i press yes nothing happens when i press no nothing happens.
please help me to get back to stock rom or else i may void my warranty.
once before i installed the stock rom by the procedure and was successful but this time i am unable
First uninstall lg software and lg usb drivers then first install LGUnitedMobileDriver_S498MA21_WHQL_ML_Ver_2.1.exe then run the SmartFlashTool_P990.exe then remove battery plug device in while holding volume down - and them try.

You may try in a virgin PC where no USB drivers have been installed. Best would be format PC reinstalll WIN OS and try NVFLASH or SMARTFLASH after installing LG USB drivers. I have also faced similar problems and solved them in different PCs either friends or office. I somehow feel LGs drivers are badly written and not very smooth functioning. In fact I (and many others) have bricked O2X trying to upgrade to official GB updates by using LG PC suite and drivers.
This is only my suggestion. I did not had to format my PC any point of time. Don't curse me if this fails. This is only one of the trials and errors.
Maybe I should try from a Linux live-cd to check if it's windows or the phone who's acting strangely.

I got the exact same problem and after searching the net there are a lot of people having the same issue too.
Don't want to sound negative but the majority never got it to run again. For some it automagically started working again.
I got it to run only on Stock Froyo, no stock GB and no ICS with all the ICS Kernels available.
The thing which helped me on Froyo was: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28985033&postcount=5
Unfortunately CM9 has no secret menu.
I once had it recognized with Jarvis Kernel on Paranoidandroid for a second and had a hotreboot. Then never again.
I'm pretty sure the PC and the LG Drivers make no difference in this case, as I got 5 different PCs running different OS for testing and they never made a difference.

Does the ROM has anything to do with Smartflash- and NVflash-modes? My guess is that they have nothing to do with each other. So my problem should persist even though I try different ROMs. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'll look into the Froyo-topic you linked to.
Strange. Now it suddenly works again. I didn't do anything from the last time. That's odd.
I don't think that the ROM specifically has to do with the problem.
Stock Froyo just happened to be the only ROM where switching USB connection modes made the device seen in device manager on Windows. (Although it required manual .inf driver clickery.)
I'm sure missing USB connectivity affects people in NVFlash as well.
In my case I can't do **** ranging from USB mass storage when booted up, ADB or NVFlash when booting.
However restoring to the Froyo nandroid makes everything working for me again.
oh oh, it looks like the same issue that i had... No PC-connection (Win/Linux) recognized the mobile via USB. No Chance to get it back to work.
I flashed back to stock (very difficult without NVFlash...) and then send it back LG Service for repearing. After three weeks i got it back. They changed the hole mainboard so i got a new IMEI but USB works now again.

Yeah. It stopped working after I booted a couple of times
And it was only semi working, it didn't want to go into Smartflash-mode, only NVFlash and Flash-drive.

Nope, as I'm quite sure that it's not a matter of drivers.
Windows don't even detect the phone. So I think that the phone doesn't present itself.

Since you already tried changing cables, computers, and even windows & Linux, and since it works on and off, You're right - it isn't the rom nor the drivers. it does sound like the hardware is messed up where the cable connects.
Any chance you can get it serviced? Hope your warranty covers it.

Same problem, no solution
Hi,
I seem to have the same sort of problem with my phone.
I used to be able to connect my phone to my computer just fine until I upgraded it to Gingerbread. Or that is at least the last time the USB connection seemed to work.
I have looked all over the internet now to find a solution to the problem but can't find one. Hope you guys could help me on this.
My phone is an LG optimus 2x P990 with a stock ROM gingerbread 2.3.4
LGE Version LGP990-V20r
Kernel version 2.6.32.9
I've tried so far:
- rebooting phone and pc
- factory reset phone
- Use other pc's => didn't work
- Connect a samsung phone to my pc with my LG cable => did work
- uninstall and reinstall all the necessary drivers
- mass storage mode on and off
- Installed android SDK and looked for adb devices, none shown
- phone doesn't show in the computers device manager either
Although when I do connect the phone it starts charging and if I go to the tethering settings it does recognize the fact that it is connected through USB.
So why can't I get my PC to recognize the phone.
I really need it cause I would like to root my phone to install a custom ROM.
I have tried rooting it with Gingerbreak as well, but that doens't seem to work either.
Thanks for the help
I just made a recovery.log in CWM:
http://pastebin.com/yJw6LEmf
It mentions something about USB in the bottom. Maybe it's a software issue after all?

Well, after a TON of work, and unsuccessful attempts at getting this, I finally was able to get signal and working data on my phone. I know some people had had trouble with the process, so I'm going to post my guide here to help you all out.
There are two parts to this tutorial. Only one is needed, however, to get ICS to properly work, so find the one that fits your current predicament AND ONLY USE THAT PART OF THE TUTORIAL.
If this is your first time installing the ICS rom...
Follow the LG flashing tool guide that XBSall has linked in his ICS Rom post. You can also find it at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1244490 . However, when you install the ROM, DO NOT USE THE .FLS FILE HE PROVIDES. Instead, download the v18A baseband and install that one with the .BIN file he provides. You can find the v18A baseband here- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1338383 I believe. After you flash the entire thing, you should have ICS! Easy!
If you have the ICS Rom installed now, but have no signal...
This is a bit more complicated, but still very easy. After I flashed ICS, I was not able to flash things using LGFlashTool like I could in GB. This is how I ended up flashing the baseband to fix my issues.
We need to set up your phone to connect with LGFlashTool first. To do this, use XBSall's restore to GB method, located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942836 . You will need the OMAP4BOOT files, but you will need nothing else.
Follow his tutorial up until step 6. When he tells you to insert the battery, insert it AS FAST as you can. I messed up on the timing the first few times. Once I saw a greyscale LG logo, and a few other times it just booted normally. Just try again if this happens. Eventually you will get the screenshot in step 9. DO NOT remove the cable when OMAP4BOOT tells you to, as well.
Follow step 10 and 11 of XBSalls restore tutorial, and then follow step 12. When you set up LGFlashTool for the reflashing, simply select the v18A baseband to flash and then start the process. If done correctly, Port 1 should state READY. Repeat steps 3-9 in his tutorial. It will start the flashing process. Once you get an error, close the program, and remove your phones battery and disconnect it from your computer.
Turn on your phone, and receive signal. PROFIT.
Hope this helps you guys out a bit, and remember to hit thanks if this helped you.

still no signal... ill try again... atleast closer to fixing... attached is the error im getting... when i go into About and check the baseband it still has V30
EDIT: When into System Settings > About Phone > Software Information ... it is showing the following information.
Baseband Version: XMM6260
Software Version: LGSU760-V30b-OCT-18-2012
Can anyone help? The guide dosent show you how to install the OMAP4430 drivers, but i found out myself how to do it so whatever. Problem is, now "OMAP4430 USB Device" is dissappearing and reappearing over and over again when i boot with volume up. Can anyone shed some light as to how to fix this?
And my phone isnt bricked, i can turn it on right now and everything.
EDIT: Found the problem, you need to hold VolUp after OMAP4430 pops up. Funny, it says in the guide to let go when it pops up. Fixed my mistake though.

not able to keep OMAP 44xx device connected
Hello everyone,
I'm currently trying to get ICS installer on my rogers P925. I tried many times on two computers (both windows 7 one is 32bits other is 62bits) to flash the bin and fls files you are recommanding but it seems like even if my OMAP 4430 device driver is correctly installed via the program files texas instuments dll it seems it wont stay connected at all and just pop open and closed sometimes when it seems to want, and it makes the flashing procedure impossible to me any ideas?

XBSALL helped me out! It's finally working now! My problem was with the port. He got my phone rooted, changed USB port (I mistakenly was changing the wrong one), installed TWRP, put his ICS cleaned mod version on through TWRP zip install. It's all working now full bars of 3G!
help?
Finally got to flash ICS on phone but it was giving me errors everytime I wasn't using original baseband associated with .bin file. Now, I can't get it to boot in fastboot even using OMAP4boot I don't really understand when I need to insert fast the battery... OMAP4boot doesn't seem to get my phone...
You will always get errors as these are not full kdz files. If you are stuck at lg logo..try pull batt replace then hold vol- and power button til you see a factory reset screen do reset and boot..that made mine boot.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough, but my phone boots now, it's only I had to flash it with the O3D fls file and not the .fls I was supposed to use so I get a working ICS without any network.
Now that i'm trying to complete step 2 to get te right baseband, i can't get the phone to boot in download mode even using OMAP fasboot flash. the software just don't say anything appart from "waiting for phone".
So I was wondering if I was doing anything wrong

it's almost the 10th time I follow the guide step by step by step... I think or i'm always doing wrong something or it's something else with my phone... I may have misconfigured one port but i do NEVER NEVER at all in the process see OMAP4430 device in my device manager.. so the little windows tool is not doing anything... maybe if someone wanna teamviewer they can see for themselves what it gives.
Wahoo, ICS + network
finally found that there was the correct driver for my computer in the omap4boot folder and not in everyother one I was installing, flashed with the guide after i found this driver and everything works fine
only thing i'm struggling is to set apns to get 3G any tricks?
Do a Google search for AT&T 4G APN (or whoever our carrier is). You can also create an APN with the word "phone" in the first two blanks, name and APN (I think), and it should give you access to 3G and HSPA. I hit 6.7mbps on Speed Test.

Hi everyone, I really need your help. I have basically bricked my phone but it is not beyond hope as some things seem to be working.
What I did:
I used ROM Manager to boot into a boot screen. I was very turned around and confused and I did not have Clockwork Mod on my CM9 phone, as I thought and I'm really not sure why I thought this was the right thing.... In that boot screen I flashed a TWRP recovery file (http://goo.im/devs/tonyp/P990-stuff/TWRP).
What happens now:
I get a white logo and then the phone turns "on" but on is only a white logo with a little splash of purple behind it (like 2cm long). This "on" state the touchscreen is sensitive insofar as if you touch it when it dims the brightness will jump back up again. That's it though. If I plug the phone into the computer (win7) the pc will ding ding and sometimes it says it installed properly, sometimes not, either way it does not show up in My Computer as a device. If I run SmartFlasher on the pc and plug the phone in (in S/W Upgrade mode which it appears able to do), SmartFlasher will detect the COM Port.
What I already tried:
I tried to use SmartFlasher to flash a stock ROM I found (http://www.modaco.com/topic/350555-lg-optimus-2x-stock-rom-update/) but I received a very non-helpful error that just says "type mismatch error". I tried another file, can't remember what it was or where I found it, but I got the mismatch error also. I also tried to update the phone via the LG Mobile Tool. It finds the phone, installs drivers, etc, even lets me open the update thing but then during the process it says it can not communicate with the phone and it is aborted.
Any ideas?? I can't afford a new/used phone... There must be some way to salvage this...?
Use this tool to solve your problems http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020737 ..... And as you have the old bootloader, so make sure you flash all files for old bootloader only and not new one....
And also make sure to read the instructions given in tool manual...

Thank you! I will do this in a few hours on my break and see where I get
Ok...so I had to do a LOT of stuff w/n that tool that did not work before I managed to get anywhere...but I got somewhere! yay!!
The phone now boots into TWRP v2.5.0.0. The next step is to flash a ROM because there is no o/s installed. Before I go any further I'd like to know, should I use the stock ROM or should I use the files from ParanoidAndroid 2.6 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2097807 -- the link you gave me the other day).
Stock ROM sucks..... Use Paranoid Android... You won't regret it ...

Unfortunately more problems lol I was able to get it on there without problem. However I can not connect to my cell provider. The APN listing is blank and even if I manually enter and select save it does not save it, the list stays blank.
So, next I tried the most stable release of CM just to get this f'ing thing working. It went through and said it was successful but when I boot the phone up it is still Paranoid Android...which I don't mind except the APNs are still blank and my phone is still useless.
Any idea what I should do next? I tried searching for this APN problem and I tried two APN apps from marketplace, neither worked. I think the solution is to clear the phone and do another flash but that does not seem to be working...
If I remember correctly, some people had this APN problem but I NEVER had it... They solved it by manually inputting the APN... But seems you are having some weird problems as it doesn't even save the APN.... Try again inputting APN manually and save it properly ..... If it doesn't save then try CM 10.1 from link I gave earlier.... That is also a cooooool and smoooooth ROM with many more features ....
And make sure you install a new ROM only after a full wipe and also system format after taking backups of your apps, etc obviously ....

When I tried to install the newest stable CM I did do a full wipe (according to the TWRP v2.5 ). That's why I don't know what to do now. I can't seem to get Paranoid Android off / change to a different ROM.
Any ideas?
Okay so I have put 3 different versions on now and they all look and work great...except no cell connection, no apn's. I saw some people fix this by replacing their BB via smartflash but I can not do that because I get timeout errors. Smartflash doesn't work at all. Neither does the LG Update tool from w/n that toolkit. The only thing that does work is flashing zip from sd card and changing the recovery image via adb in that toolkit. I can not find any methods of replacing the BB except via Smartflash.
If you get timeout errors in smartflash, then do this trick.... When you click "Start" in smartflash and the flashing process starts then immediately pull the battery back inside phone and then you shouldn't get timeout errors ..... This always works for me.....
nope...exactly the same:
00:00.0 Sec ownload Start...
00:02.0 Sec :RomBinary Download start
00:02.0 Sec SI RAM writing start
00:02.1 Sec :Trying to communicate with IFX modem
00:22.1 Sec :Timeout error is occured
00:22.1 Sec :error!
Try this... Use ORIGINAL LG USB Cable .... If you don't have it, then unmount all other USB devices from your computer and then try again with the cable that you have .....

I live in Canada, my provider is Wind Mobile. This was originally a T-Mobile phone from the US. I bought it used, it was unlocked and running an older version of CM. The actual model number is P999DW
For convenience I just want to recap the issue:
I'm open to ALL ideas! On the all in one toolkit that I downloaded from the first reply only a few options work. The LG Update Tool and Smartflash...whether using them via the AIO toolkit or just using them independently always error out with some sort of communication based error. I can repartition and change the recovery image but that seems to be the only options that work from AIO toolkit. My understanding of the problem is that there is no, or an incorrect baseband file. The phone is behaving almost like a tablet. It won't search for networks and it doesn't even give me a SIM error, it's just not looking for it at all. I have formatted sys and repartitioned and wiped and re-flashed several different ROMs (Paranoid Android, stable CM, tonyp CM 10.1, etc) but this problem remains.
What? Do u have a P999? I'm not sure, but I don't think that P990 ROM will work correctly on it... In fact it shouldn't even install as the updater script checks whether the phone is P990 or not.... And if it isn't then it should show error and not flash the ROM... Did you change the updater script line to P999 instead of P990 to make it work...

I didn't do anything different. The P999 is just the T-mobile version and P990 is the International/Rogers/etc version. It was previously running CM so I don't really think that is the problem. http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/37457-p999-vs-p990/ The only errors I am getting are communication errors between the PC and the phone...not version related errors.
I would happily put the stock P999DW kdz file on if I could but the only method I know to do that (LG Update Tool via that AIO toolkit) does not work because it is timing out.
Okay so everything on my phone before and also now says it is an Optimus 2X. I started searching after your last comment and does this mean I have a Optimus G2X? F'd up...even the battery says it is a P990 Optimus 2X. Gonna see if I can find any NVflash ROMs for that one since nvflash method is working.
Use this link to download latest Official firmware for your phone
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=[IMEI]
Replace [IMEI] with your IMEI in the link...
OR
Download firmware from here ... It also gives list of official links .... There are P990, P999, SU660,P990HN firmwares with different countries listed...
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=3
Try to flash it as KDZ (or) extract .bin & .fls files from it using AIO Toolkit and then Smartflash those two files ... If you want to flash only baseband then .fls one is the baseband ....
I'm telling to do this because it may be possible that you are trying to flash wrong KDZ or wrong baseband and that's why, may be, you are not able to do it ....
If you flash v30 firmware then your bootloader will, most probably, be changed to new one .... So consider that in mind also before flashing .....
Or a better solution ..... Natalya said that he/she might be knowing the solution to your problem... So try to consult for that also....
Again, there is a dedicated development for P999 also on CyanogenMod apart from P990 http://get.cm/?device=p999 ...

You just got a bit ahead of me in writing this comment ... I couldn't see it before writing my reply .... So one of the methods for confirming your phone is to look beneath your phone battery on the phone and another is to go to the first link I gave above and insert your IMEI also there in the link and then see what firmware download link LG returns .... Phone model will be also written in the download link, so you can check there also....
