[Q] CWM on Captivate 2.3.5

Hi Guys. This is my 1st thread on XDA..
Am having a Samsung Captivate, which was running Froyo 2.2 in it.
I updated it to One Click odin and i got 2.3.5..
I rooted it using this Tutorial Tutorial
Now the Thing is, my CWM is not showing up the Rom that i placed in my SD card..
my ext/sd card is empty in CWM mod..
I tired boogs kernel and other builds of kernel stilll the same issue
Even tried corns kernel

Somehow got it working
Gonna Enjoy ICS in it Guys
Suggest me some Stable day by day use ROM... Am not into this modding stuffs that much..
Just want a Stable ICS ROM for my day by day use..
Trying out TeamHacksung Rom now

THS has been the best and most stable for me of all the ICS ROM's.
I tried slim, icssgs and one of the miui builds. THS wins.

And I found a Small thing with the boot animation.. Its kinda pixel

Welcome! Great you're on ICS. I'm on icssgs 4.2, but make sure you make a backup of your efs folder just in case it messes up your IMEI so far so good for me

A lot of people like the glitch kernel but I use Test kernel 2 from the OP. I don't OC or UV so I haven't fooled with glitch. I understand there are other reasons folks like glitch (voodoo sound for one) I just haven't fooled with it. If glitch is working for you, just stick with it.
I think I read somewhere that the boot animation was zoomed in a bit at some point and so doesn't look so clear. Don't know if that is true or not. It never bothered me so I haven't worried about it.
My feeling is that if the only thing you found to complain about is the boot animation it must be a pretty damn good ROM. After all, this is still an alpha build, it is only going to get better.

Got a Problem now..
I got ICS in my Cappy.. Used Icy Glitch kernel for Teamhacksung CM9..
Now the Problem is that, am not getting any Service in my Mobile..
Its detected my Network but not registering in it.. Some time it shows up my Service in the Notification bar and the next sec it shows No Service
Now am on stock 2.3.5 kk4 kernel

Which is the most stable ICS rom for note?

I hope the s pen, video and Mass Storage is work.

I used the romow pics from but that kept screwing with my root and texting didn't work. I flashed the fix and then my home button didn't work. I think if you can live with having to flash a recovery everytime you want to flash a from and can deal with using a 3rd party texting app it should be fine.

Try Midnote Rom ICS

I earlier used it was very happy but due to some reason i have to shift back to GB rom. But this is definitely the most stable even more stable than the rocket rom ICS.

Midnote 2.0 is amazing. I have been using it for two days now without any issues!

Also on Midnote. Tried the others and Midnote is definitaly the best.

I've tried just about all of them - and from reading other people's posts - it seems different ROMs suit different Notes. Really it is a matter of trying them and testing them for a few days.
Be warned - there are some posts that praise ROMs after only using them for a few hours! You really need to use for a few days and after a few battery cycles.
Personally - I recommend them all!! I've never found one that has totally been slow or laggy. I have never Undervolted or Overvolted - and really think you should just use each ROM with it's recommended settings and see how you go!

Im on ROCKET 1.5 for cuple of weeks now and despite random freezes for 15 seconds once or twice a day and that some times the caller id is not shown its avery stable rom. its my daly rom.

Did you find any bug on this rom?

Trust me, the most stable one is that one which still doesnt exist. Leaked ROM sucks, gotta wait official ICS release for great roms

it's asking for the most stable one, not a rom that you expect to perform perfectly.
by this, it is assumed that the leak is unstable, and is asking for a build that is less likely for problems to occur.
based on the existing ICS roms, i vote for midnote too.

ROMOW is pretty good, I had problems with midnote

honestly, if u tried any other ics rom, you would not go back to rocket rom.. too much hassle, too buggy, easily lose root with no way of going back

Did you recommend to use the ICS theme of GB rom?

I didn't have any problems with Rocket ROM v22
using it since long tym
No bugs Seriously!

it is really annoying that hdmi dont work on the ics leaks and no app2sd :/, so i changed back to gb...

HDMI out works great on Criskelo beta4. I think it is a very stable rom. I go days without a reboot and I definitely push my note....I have found it easily as stable as any gingerbread rom. I have tried nearly all the ICS roms and I like it the best.

MidNote since day one....definitely ...
Almost a month.....
Like it...never go back to GB again

Rocket ROM v22 isn't an ICS ROM!
There is an Rocket ROM open beta ICS ROM, which is what I currently have on my phone. It isn't perfect (handful of reboots) but is good enough to serve as a daily driver.

I been using rocket ics rom since yesterday and i think it's bug free except for the video recording function which i don't use frequently. I had to flash several times till i have no fc. Flashing is a bit tricky but if u manage to do that properly it works flawless. You can find it here.
I tried imilka ics v5 and Jamied81's deodexed rooted ics version. team rocket ics 1.5 beta is the most stable one so far

i need help...my galaxy note is hanging again and again when i install ultimate jelly bean or rocket rom v3 JB....now m back on old ics rocketrom v12...sometime b4 i thought its bcoz of my memory card so i removed that for some times bt it still hangs...my mobile screen stucks again and again...somebody help me to install working JB for me...thanks..

Plz watch the video in ultimate rom on.
How to prepare yr phone before flashing any rom.
Do all the wipes necessary.
Be on an safe kernel in ics first.
Then follow as in the video by hammdog.
You can surely flash n run JB without any problems.

i have done everything....it jst freeze after sometime...i have tried rocket rom and ulitmate jelly bean both...

bro i did full wipe b4 flash new rom...i can use rocketrom ics without any prob bt when i install Jb it jst freeze after some mins...i jst have to restart it again and again

My note like your note but i flash the xxlsa by mobile odin and the problem is solved and there is no hang .

That is bound to happen with all the JB leaks. I have given up on them, none is stable enough to be used as your everyday rom. They work decently for a few days but then sods start to happen and all of a sudden the phone won't boot anymore. Sometimes clearing cache and dalvik cache helps and sometimes it doesn't. Seriously, I recommend going back to ICS and wait for the official release.

I did as described here and I am very okay now. Repartition with pit file wiped it clean enough it seems.

Get a stock jb rom they seems to be more stable then the ones that are tweaked all around I'm running a stock rom with just some build.prop tweaks and some minor theming I have done and it has been my daily rom since xxlsc was posted with zero problems well at least for what I use anyways no sods or random reboots or freezes or FCS and I also modded the service.jar file for v6 supercharger for 100% supercharge

Before flash through do the ful wipe and format cache/system/preload (make sure you are on a safe kernel)

That's exactly what I did. The last rom I ran was stock XXSLA released by sammobile. It worked for 3 days before the sods started to happen again and eventually I encountered the mandatory bootloop. No chance, I'm not going to touch those leaks again. On one hand constantly having to deal with sods and bootloops is annoying. On the other hand I'd like to mention that our phones are not built to be wiped every other day. Doing so to remedy sods and bootloops might as well provoke a brick even if the device is not affected by the brickbug (as mine thanks to the new mainboard I got) and/ or is running on a safe kernel.

Spontaneously reboots with CM9rc4

Hi to all,
some days ago I flashed my I9001 from Stock Rom 2.3.6 to CM9 rc4 with Kernel 3.0.62.
Now I have some issues with spontaneously reboots or mobile goes off. Do you encounter same problems? What can I do? Thanks for your help guys.

It sounds like an unstable system have you tried another ROM with full wipes?
It may be your best option

of course I did a full wipe.
CM9 rc3 seems to be stable although wifi connection seems to be a bit weak.
Will flash again CM9rc4 these days to exclude the flashing was maybe improper.

I had the same problem.
However, Doomsday provided a modified and updated kernel some days ago. I've been using that one for a while and I don't remember having many problems since. This is the post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37952778&postcount=3555 Hope it helps!
Also, MIsterLemons has just released an updated kernel based on arco's sources which you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38059967&postcount=3575, I haven't tested that one (I rather like doomsday's additions) but his kernel might just fix your issues as well without diverging from arco's builds.
EDIT: it appears I had been lucky. I've just had 2 random shutdowns in 5 minutes using Doomsday's kernel...

[Q] A problem in messaging!

hi mates !
I tried 3 jelly bean roms and i experienced this problem most of the time:"lack in messaging scroll" and its too bad
I had been flashed these roms a lot to fix this but it worked just few times and by another flash, it goes away
and I think its accidently!
for example I had flashed Ultimate 5.1 recently,the scrolling act in my messaging is really good and when flash it again, It goes like before.
any one know whats the problem with it? any one has experienced this Problem?
I always do all wipes and formats before flashing>

Mate it's a leak only.. So don't expect it to be stable as official rom.. If you can't live with these bugs then flash a stock rom and stay stocked
