Hello guys. Greetings to you all
i have a GALAXY MINI 7-8 months old. earlier i was using the sim cards which had 2G gprs and at that time, the phone gave me battery backup of about a day (24 hours with normal usage)
then i came to know about BSNL 3G sim and its data plan which was quite cheap and similar in price to 2G packs. so i switched to BSNL.
then my phone used to get heated during charging or during multitasking and also, the battery would quickly charge to 80-90 % (within 30 mins) and then drop to 15% in 30 mins
i searched for many forums to find the reason of heating etc etc. one day, i thought to remove the 3G sim and put back an sim with 2G network only.
TO MY SUPRISe, THE PHONE NEVER GOT HEATED AND EVEN MULTITASKING DURING CHARGING HAD NO EFFECT on the PHONE TEMPERATURE..
so guys, i want help in this topic.
1.] does SGM heat while using only 3G network?
2.] is the problem with the BSNL CARD only?
3.] have you ever faced problem of phone heating(above normal 50 degrees) during charging or multitasking?
4.] is my assumption that BSNL sim is the CULPRIT correct?
5.] how much backup did your SGM gave after 7-8 months? (mine gives only 5-6 hours of moderated usage. )
6.] any other tips or suggestions you would want to share.!
by the way, i have tried using cm7 rc5.7 , cm 7 rc0 v0.7 mebitek, mini mod, STOCK GB rom and froyo too. AND IN ALL THE ROMS, I FACE THIS PROBLEM.
and those who get help from my this thread, please say THANKS

battery drains quickly because of using 3g
3g uses different bands and also uses higher frequency that's why your mobile get heated
sim is not the culprit but using 3g is the problem
about quick charging try calibrating your battery

Hello everyone!
I've been owning my wonderful i9000 for two years now, and for a few months battery life has become terrible, even on stock GB ROMS (i'm currently on a CM10 nightly, and it lasts no more than.. 12 hours on moderate use, 6-7 in regular use.
So I've decided to test its capacity with Nova Battery Tester (pretty good app btw), and the result showed me that it had dropped to 750 mAh, that's to say half the stock capacity.
According to the result, and due to my financial incapacity to buy a new Android Phone for now, I've decided to buy a new battery, but I can't decide which one to choose.
I'd really appreciate if some of you could give me some advice.
Have a nice day!

In time batteries will lose there capacity. This is something you cannot prevent. It's caused by some chemical stuff inside your battery. You'll need a new one.
Yeah, I figured it out, that's why I asked advice on which battery to buy (a stock one, an extended one...)
You can buy a 1650mah one which is the same size or a bigger one but it will require a bigger back case. Watch out for fakes (eg. "3500mah from Hongkong")
Go to the Accessories section of the I9000 forum, lots of battery threads.

I’ve got a 1800mAh one which is same size as stock one.
Apparently the galaxy s plus has a 1650mAh battery, which supposedly also fits in our regular i9000 phones. A Dutch webshop sells it here, no idea if they're shipping to other countries though. It's a small 150mAh upgrade.

Hello
As the title suggests, I need advice on the best replacement battery for Samsung Galaxy S i9000. The original 1500mAh for the phone lasts 3-4 hours or a tad bit over at best with continued use on my phone that was rooted to Cyanogen mod along with ThinkingBridge installed just recently. I don't even play games on the phone so it's a bit annoying to see it give up so soon with browsing only.
I was wishing this phone could somehow last about as long as Samsung Galaxy Note does with its 2500mAh but perhaps I am being too wishful. Nevertheless, I would fancy maximum possible increase in its battery life as long as it is significant and actually worth my money.
Having said that, I would welcome advice on the matter preferably from people who actually own or have owned the phone and know of such reliable batteries and the kind of performances they have delivered. I'd also appreciate if somebody could tell exactly how many hours a new replacement battery would add. I doubt that any of the legit ones will be available here in Pakistan so I ll probably be ordering it from the US (Amazon or eBay).
Thanks in advance.

you can increase battery performance by management with greenify , and xprivacy as well as these
Check this out! You , YES! you are an " Android ". Not your phone but U.
Have you looked in the Accesories part of the Galaxy S forums?
For most people, an extended battery (1800mAh in most cases) and kernel and performance tweaking gets them the best battery life possible...

Thanks for getting back to me on the matter but the thing is that there's a mention of so many different battery brands including anker and polar cell and mugen and oem that it gets confusing for me to pick the best. As a result, I was looking for advice on which one actually works best with this phone and gives maximum possible battery time with uninterrupted wifi activity. I'd also be interested in knowing how many hours it would actually add.

I'll check it out, thanks. Hoping for more advice on the best replacement battery that would add to the browsing hours significantly, still.
How about this one instead of battery extenders that would make the phone look ugly and bulky: http://www.amazon.co.uk/cellePhone-...152VU/dp/B004IJ9M6W/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top? Anyone had any experience with one of these?
Let me know if I am correct to assume that Polar Cell 1800mAh is better than Anker 1800mAh.

Hello xda team !
I have this best phone about 21 dec 2011 . But in the winter 2013 , i replaced my display because he goes off. . After I replaced my display , my battery level goes down very fastly , like 10h ( in STAND-BY , with all data OFF ) . I stayed like that until yesterday , when I bought a new original battery for my phone .... but there was no change ( . My battery life goes of again in 10h.... Why ? ( Pls tell me why ?
What Can I do ? I need help because I dispear .. :| )
Sory for my bad english... I'm from Romania!
I tried all possible ROMs !
Hi there, just a guess, maybe you bought a cheap chinese (no offence) display which could be draining more current than the original one.
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
I'm afraid the display it's the problem... Do you think if I replace the display , all will be ok ?
Have you had your display changed or did you do it yourself? No other problems with display occured other than drain? There is a possibility that the display could have been connected not correctly (tie power nors could be oxidised or similar). With the older display, how much battery time die you have with the same usage of phone?
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
I went to a GSM service to replace my display. I didn't found any other problems.... , but with this (new) display I can touch in just 3 points and the old going 10. With the older display , I reached 3-4 days..
3 touch points are enough for daily use. Let us know, whether battery drain is fixed or not with the new screen.
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
I have this problem when I changed the screen . I tried a lots of ROMs , and a new battery ... and nothing.. What can I do ? Replace the screen again ? :|
If the waranry is gone and you want to take an action, my advice would be using some tutorials on youtube take the screen off and clean pins with some cleaning product (acetone or pure gasoline), then make sure that pins are smooth, not broken or something then putting the same screen and testing for a few dalys. If the problem persist, then you should change the screen
Sent from my LG-P990 using Tapatalk
Ok I'll try this ! And I will post as soon as possible the result. It would be better if I just clean the pins. Thanks a lot !
What do you think about my battery is it normal or no
I use cm7 i dont use any connections( in school) i switch to airplane mode my screen is minimal brightness 15s and it drains in like 2-3 hours of gaming if i come back i see some xda posts take some photos and its 15% left
Does if i buy a new battery 1850mAh it will give me more energy?
What do you think?

If You sau you game for about 2-3 hours then it's normal that battery drains fast. You get 2-3 hours of screen on time + processor and graphics are working at that time. Lėtas be realistic, the phone is old and it's not vert energy efficient nowadays, so i can't tell whether buying a new battery could get you a lot more usage. But you mat never now IF you won't try

Hello everybody,
reading XDA forums for a while, I now have a problem with my Mi 5, that no other thread seems to cover (sorry if I'm wrong).
I bought my 32 GB Mi 5 from gearbest in July and Battery life from the beginning was not as good as GSMarena promised. I can't recall any numbers but I blamed the "shop-version" of android and tried the stable ones from english miui site, but no luck. I even tried CM-13 but battery life there was really bad (8-10 % per hour). Right now i have the latest stable (global V8.1.2.0.MAAMIDI) and it uses almost 4 % per hour in flight mode! The funny thing: even powered of, the phone drains the battery at that rate (actually not funny)
So my question is: By any chance, is this something, which could be caused by software or is it definitely a hardware fault? Since i flashed the firmware, gearbest refuses any asisstance (warranty void).
Any idea or help is gratly appreciated!
I have got similar trouble with my mi5/64 gb.
I have been inquiring and testing with many old and new version of stock roms (meaning miui) and custom roms for several months.
Moreover, I have used and tested with many battery saving and improvement apps too. I also flashed with MPdecion mod.
I am now with the latest eu developer rom of Nougat 6.12.15....
Unfortunatelly, I found no solution no improvement. My battery life is avarage 13-15 hours.. Even it drains 4% per hour while fully powered off.
As a result, I have no more option but to replace battery with a new one (purchased from Aliexpress but not yet arrived) thou I have little hope thinking that this might be due to defected motherboard.
I may suggest you to return your device or get replaced with another one..
Hello sas_sas,
my deepest sympathties to your situation. I'm still hesitating to open the phone, but since gearbest refuses any warranty (due to flashing the phone :silly I might try between Christmas and New Year. One easy way to narrow down the fault would be to fully charge the phone, disonnect the battery and leave it for a day. When reconnected and powered up the phone shows no disacharge you could save your money for a new battery. Also i think a faulty battery would already have blown up during quickcharge.
This issue is really a shame! Xiaomi is regarded as a premium brand but i couldn't find a way to contact them to describe the obvious hardware problem. Gearbest just holds their hands in the air and blames the customer. That's really annoying.
