Dear all, I have face this problem while i was actually inserting any file on the S Note. It failed and pop up "document restored after application closed"...i don get what it mean...can anyone help?
Everything working fine here. What rom are you on? Stock? Have you already tried clearing data of S Note or doing a factory reset?
Yeah, i have tried it but still doesnt work.
I assume you are coping a file from your pc.
Where does the pop up appear on the pc or the note. Sounds like something is dropping the connection, and normal culprits would be virus checkers or local firewalls

Nope. i just insert objects from my phone itself such as camera photo, clip art and so forth. My S Note is now useless.
I'm getting the same thing. I can't insert anything to s note.
As soon as i got the phone i upgraded to ICS could that be a factor?

Well, crap. I don't know what else to try here.
I plug in my phone to update to 2.2 and in all 4 of my USB ports I get a "usb device not recognized" error. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the root hubs, nothing. I want to try to uninstall the drivers specifically for the phone, but can't find them (running windows 7 32 bit)
What the heck man?
So far ive done:
Uninstalled the samsung captivate drivers.
Uninstalled the USB root hubs.
Uninstalled Kies Mini.
Reinstalled captivate drivers.
Reinstalled USB Root Hubs.
Reinstalled Kies Mini.
Turned on debugging before plugging it in.
Turned off debugging before plugging it in.
Changed to mass storage mode.
Changed to Media Played mode.
Changed to Kies mode.
FACTORY RESET THE PHONE.
I think that about covers it. The next step I will try is to get a new usb to micro usb cord. Then, if not that, i am going to a friends house.
I shouldn't have to go through all of this crap. Especially when it was recognized about a week ago. nothing has been changed, deleted or updated since then either.
Quite frustrating.
Anyone have any ideas? I am close to just re-installing windows and then trying...ugh i just want my update! Been waiting months and months and now I can't even get it -___-
I received an error message about an idle screen, could NOT figure it out. Finally it worked after uninstalling launcher pro! Are you using a custom launcher? Try uninstalling!

No. I apologize I should have mentioned that.
It is not rooted and there is no custom software. Everything I've got, I've downloaded from the android marketplace.
just had the same problem...tried every possible solution..including installing fresh copy of windows..got my phone replaced..afraid to say..hardware issue

So you're saying a new phone fixed it? Well I hope that's not my only option because I don't want to go through all of that.

tried getting it to work for two days and i gave up. my carrier didnt give me any trouble and sent me a replacement..hope its not ur case. tell me what you tried so far?
This sucks man. Stil nothing....I am not going to replace my handset because I bought mine online! It's worked before....so what changed???

Make sure your using the factory cable that came with your phone and unmount your external sd card.

Yep, I am definitely using the factory cable, and I don't even have an external SD card in there right now (I tried it with and without one in and still nothing)
UPDATE:
I went to a friends house and tried to plug it in on his netbook...same exact issues, then his desktop computer...same exact issues.
So does this mean i am royally screwed and the only way I can ever connect my phone to a computer again is to get a new one? I can't even transfer files to and from the phone, so all of the music that I put on there before is completely useless now

I just totally realized something...I used to be able to use it via usb to transfer music, files, etc until I plugged it into my USB port on my kenwood car stereo's usb deck. It had given me error 19, which apparently is a connectivity error. Could these be related? Could it be possible that somehow plugging it into my stereo boned the usb functionality?
So I am not sure what the heck I did right, but it suddenly started working, and I am about 90% done with the 2.2 update.
I DID however unmount the internal SD card, then I re-mounted it and I guess that worked? Somehow there must have been a random glitch with the internal.
Anyways, if anyone else has this issue, try that!
Its a glitch in the media scanner program. Unmount your external (you can't unmount the internal), pull the card out, re install. We found this when doing the rodgers update, lot of people had this problem.

I had some issues with the drivers originally. I downloaded the wrong ones from the Samsung site. Take a look for the drivers in myriad XDA threads and see if those work, after uninstalling the ones you have loaded.

how did you unmount the internal
This is due to Google Talk Authentication Error which is annoying the hell out of me.
I literally did everything: flashed a fresh stock rom, factory reset, it started working for maybe 10 minutes but now it stopped and I it won't sign into Gtalk and therefore I can't download apps. What the hell? Can anyone please help meh?

Yes, I did. Basically, Gtalk signs in and stays that way if I take out the sim but when I put it back in it says Google Talk Authentication Error or something like that not even 3 minutes after turning the phone back on.
I want to mention that this is stock firmware 2.2.
Update: I get Google Talk Authentication Error without the SIM in the phone as well.. It just refuses to sign in some time after I turn on da fone.

Change SD card or format it..there were so many people hv the same issue. And so many suggestion..i tried everything that was suggested, and lastly i format my SD card..so far it works fine after 2wks..another common issue is people who use SD 16gb or more class 6 n above curiously have this issue..but most 8gb users seems fine.
Fixed by pulling out the similar and forcing gtalk to log in thru wick, then put similar back in and it works.

Have my sister's tab from sprint. something happened and it was not working well. For some reason it keeps giving an error for the google play music app and some others. Have been able to get into odin and flash the stock .tar file and it goes all the way through but doesn't seem to be working. I've tried to restore in settings to original settings but it keeps showing the email address as if it never gets removed. Seems that the internal drive is locked or something. Any suggestions.?
yeah, a few such cases if you read where people buy second hand one and old user details stick and can't be removed.
After reboot it returns.

I've been trying to add notifications to my phone and I can copy them to the phone using Android File Transfer on my mac. I put them in the Notifications folder and when I reboot they disappear.
Anyone know why?
It seems as though my SD card space is under the same write protection as /system.
Weird. I have a ton of music that I put on my phone using ATF, and I transfer files back and forth on a daily basis. I'll try to add a notification tonight and see if that works. In the meantime, try putting it in your music folder and then transfer it with ES or another file explorer and see if it sticks.

I did a factory reset and now stuff is sticking.
Now that I'm trying it out, I can't get ATF to connect to my phone. I rebooted both my mac and my phone, reinstalled ATF... nothing. When I think about it, I haven't actually used ATF since rooting with pwnmymoto... have you tried it since rooting? Or installing Xposed?
I'm suspecting pwnmymoto as well. As soon as I factory reset, the problem went away. I was rooted at the time of the problem

Damnit. I'm gonna ask jcase if it's possible that pwnmymoto breaks mtp.

Not a dealbreaker for me, just a major PITA. I'll use google drive if I have to, but I really hope it doesn't come to that. Let me know what you figure out.
My problem seems to be an isolated one. I re-rooted and everything is working fine. Something corrupted my SD partition but it seems ok now
So I got a new toy. A Samsung Gear Live. I've had it for a week and so far really like it. The biggest issue I seem to be having is the companion apps. I don't know why, but they refuse to work. Everytime I try to use one I get an error message to the tune of, " not connected to a device with this application" or "lost connection to phone". This is clearly untrue. I can see that I'm still connected and even the device itself acknowledges it. I just can't figure it out.
I have attempted a power cycle, using the restart function, a hard reboot, even reseting it back to factory. I rebooted my phone, Uninstalled and reinstalled the apps on the phone, and still no luck. I'm at a loss. Anyone who knows what to do on this front would be very welcome.

Companion apps, are the apps that are activated on your smart watch. Like the dominoes easy order app, or a bank app that let's you check your balances without pulling out your phone.
I did find my problem however. It seems that my gear live was shipped with a dev kit. I had to completely reflash it to stock software to get it to run correctly.
How did you figure out it was a dev kit? Im having similar problems. Thanks.
Fixed the problem resetting the watch and reinstalling the Android wear app. However now in the storange manager its showing three of several apps. How to fix please?
You can find if it has a Dev kit under the settings. Under build I believe. It should be a set of numbers with "dev" somewhere in it. If that's there, it's gonna hold up your regular use of the watch. It caused the apps not to work right or not to show up, etc. I'll see if I can find the link I used before for how I reset the watch to stock firmware.
