'Settings' button in Notification Bar (After ICS update) - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A few weeks ago my Note got ICS OTA (LPY on an 'open' Multi-CSC.) Its been a great improvement from stock GB but a tiny UI change has been bugging me because I don't know if it's a standard 'feature' or a bug or something that can be turned off in the settings.
It's a new 'Settings' button in the Notification Bar. I've attached a picture of the culprit and annotated it accordingly so you guys can see what I'm talking about.

My questions to fellow ICS Note users are:
Do you guys have this?
If so can it be turned off or removed?
PS: I've recently non-wipe 'updated' (via Mobile Odin of course) to LQ3 and it's persistent.

I have this, I think it's supposed to be there. I think I remember it from my HTC Flyer as part of Sense.

Sigh, what a waste of space. I'm on CF-Root kernel now so I'll probably flash one of those cool '15 Toggle' Notification Bar mods (if there is a stock ROM version) and see if they remove it.

I believe Switch Pro has that feature. But you need root for that.

try quick boot works for me has options for
reboot, recover or bootloader.. but not shutdown
there are a lot of apps that do reboot, Toolbox, toolbox to name a few that i actually have, but that's a good question for the shutdown.
Hmmmm, I searched high and low and found one hopefully, over at android forums. Gotta register first then i'll have a look later.

As showed in above picture, the notification bar once in a while hang in there. If it happens, I cant do anything to "fully" drag it down or drag it up. What I can do is reboot the phone. This has happen since day 1 when my phone is still not rooted or flashed with custom ROM.
Does anyone know that what causes this problem??? And do anyone know how to solve it without rebooting the phone. Thanks.
My current SGS:
ROM: Doc 7.6.2 JPO ROM (with Dena Theme)
Lagfix: No RFS ext4 advanced
me too. i have the same problem.
i have the new update from Kies Android 2.2.
is there a way to refresh the notification bar without rebooting!!!
Thanks in advance...
why no one answer's this?
I have the same prob on jppjpg and yaok 1.5 with jfs lagfix
The problem still persists in 2.2.1 and it happens when you try to download sth and use notification bar to see the progress

This has been happening for 2 days now, regardless of ROM. My screen itself is not defected etc. but images are rendered with random pixels generally green.
Most often appears on app icons. Here is an example of it action in the camera.

I saw your screenshot in battery thread about cpu spy and it has also some glitches.
I think it's a hardware problem.

Maybe it's related to hardware problem or driver problem. Try to factory reset or if you have root and cwm, try to flash a ROM (stock or cooked ROM will be fine). If the problem persist, maybe you have to take your device to SONY service center.

Flashed a new ROM today, no signs yet
its a hardware pb...you have to change ur mainboard..so get ur phone fast to a repair center to get a new one.
i'm sorry

Latest update has broken my colours...

Hi folks,
I updated to the latest stock firmware from Sony yesterday. All seemed to go OK, but a little while later something strange has happened to all my colours.....
I haven't knowingly changed anything, but just about every colour setting seems buggered.
I've attached a screen shot to show what the blue Sony theme now looks like - bloody awful icons now!

This photo taken before the update also shows the colours screwed up - looking more like a negative -
I've tried restarting the phone, and other themes but no joy - hopefully one of you folks can shed some light on the situation.
Cheers for now,
John

Ah, so everything looked OK to you guys - just worked it out, somehow colour inversion option on accessibility options had become ticked.
Strange as I don't remember ever going on there until now. Hey ho, all fixed now

The only way I was able to fix this is by reverting back to stock rom gingerbread 2.3.6 jvu.
Im not sure why flashing custom roms put the screen back to pinkish/inverted color, so I decided to leave at stock rom 2.3.6 gingerbread jvu.

I was playing with color setting and noticed pinkish screen happens when you totally remove the green channel..
So i guess it's issue with color format..
