[Q] Can GingerDX be flashed through X-recovery ?

I have X-recovery with froyobread ROM on my xperia x8 currently. Can gingerdx be flashed through same recovery because in Gingerdx requirements doxianh wrote clockwork mod !!
If not. Please tell me how to remove/replace x-recovery with clockwork mod !!

install this as custom zip in xrec. then u'll get CWM
credit: ponanovn
to enter cwm, u must tap ur screen repeatedly when it show the sony ericsson

Thanku so much 4 replying ! I am new to the xperia x8 community (was using optimus one) b4 & had a hard time figuring out the basics. I will be installing gingerdx next !

Unlock bootloader, flash one of kernels, boot phone, enter CWM and install GDX

you guys have gave him requirements for cwm but you never answered his question:
you can flash v013 or below with xrecovery but v014 or higher you need cwm.thats why i have gdx v013; i can flash v014 or higher since i have cwm but i like the version i got + i cant be bothered to rewrite all of my contacts

Oh damn. when I first flashed GingerDX, I used xRecovery for it to install v018, and EVERYTHING worked fine! Camera, 3G , Bluetooth, wifi. , Not a problem!
But maybe that was a once off.
I then installed v019 with CWM

[Q] best kernel for gingercruzt ?

hi i'm using gingercruzt 8.4 its an awesome rom
i just wonder if any of the kernels floating around is compatible with this rom

You will have to try some kernels like alfs or linuxDX, NAa kernel. The linuxDX and alfs are made for the gingerDX ROM but may work ok on gingercruzt

some people say that modules like mddi and oc if they are already in the kernel and in the rom the phone becomes unstable
is it stable and smooth ?

Its really fast and stable wouldnt go back to stock ever

Yes. You need delete modules from rom. Or get prepared version of GCR from my skydrive

Which kernel for mini cm7?

I plan to update soon to minicm7 2.2.0. It says that i should use naa kernel, but should i? Many say alfs is better, what do you think? Im kinda afraid alfs wont work perfectly cuz naa was made for minicm7 right?

MiniCM7 only works with nAa kernel.

Check the date of manufacturing first, before unlocking your boothloader, otherwise your phone may get screw, and it is expensive cost!

I flashed my phone 2 times already. I'm pretty sure I unlocked my BL before. But the funny thing was I didn't check before if it was safe for me.
Lucky me is lucky. =) Haha..

it's kernel working wery good

I use minicm7 2.2.0 and alfsv8a... Flashd new adreno libs package by dehumanised... Overclocked to 787mhz stable, and get 69-70 fps in neocore!

hey....alf kernel is good....but nAa id specifically made for MiniCm 7....so it works really well with nAa...i suggest u to use

I thought the ardeno lib update is built in minicm7 2.2.0? So you have to flash it if you are using alfs instead of nAa?

The new adreno libs are those which qualcomm published for ics...

not really bro, i use alfs 09c cm7 no fps with minicm7.2.2.1 and give awesome performance.

I've GDX v026 (2.3.7) flashed on my xperia x8 and it's awesome rom everything workin fine, but am just wondering if there's any better roms?

I am using MiniCm7 2.2.0 right now, cuz with GingerDX my phones WiFi dont want to work. But yeahh MiniCm7 and GingerDX r both really good roms and i dont now any better roms. Have tested many roms but those two r best for me so far.

For me better than GDX is MiniCM7 2.2.0 and alfs8av5 by djnilse&alfsamsung

You could always try the ICS roms. Most of the kinks have been ironed out and MiniCM9 is quite smooth

Dude everything works fine with ics roms? Like on some posts I read that camera dsnt work and other says wifi dosnt

On minicm9 camera work,recording video is laggy,panorama is laggy for this while,but wifi works.

You have to flash the nAa ics kernel first. Then wipe data and flash rom and gapps.

what's ur phone mate !? the wifi works on my phone since the 22 and on gdx we are on 26 !!

i can't use "[ROM] MiniCM9-3.0.2 [26/5/12]ICS 4.0.4/CM9 port for the Χ8"
since i don't know what's written on my white stickers so i can't know if can unlock my bootloader any other rom's guys ?

How about gingerxperia v25 rom?? I think so far so good..

I tried v26 with alfs kernel, I even tried factroy reset but didn't worked just shows error while turning on...

Problem with any roms

Hi
At start i want to say iam from Poland and my english isnt ... perfect.
I got problem with installing roms in my X8, maybe i say how i do it and u say what iam doing wrong ok?
1. getting root right
2. flashing kernel (i tried with alfs and naa
3. getting zipped rom on sd card
4. wipe
5. after turn on iam choosing rom zip to install
6. then sceen autmatic backs to main CWM screen
7. iam reboting phone
8. phone is starting up but not starting.
Phone got breaked bootloader.
Any1 can help me ?

Like u say i can access to CWM menu (no prob with any kernel), but then i cant install any rom, i try with other sd card maybe its rrly half-dead.
At all i can retrive phone to stock kernel and stock rom.

What's your baseband number?is it xxx015?
Also,you have to full wipe/factory reset at cwm before installing the rom(sometimes after,you can see this at the rom thread)

this aint sd problem i think... repair with SEMC.. and try re rooting the phone and then carry on the install.. if it still gives problem that zip is to blame:good:

yes repair with SEMC.. also called PC companion..
if it says that you already have latest version and does not install OS again then... wipe system and try repair again...

Maybe this is the problem,isn't this cm rc4 v7 by xperiafan13?this is for stock kernel,I'm not sure but I think it should work with customs,maybe try to install your rom with stock kernel.

it should install even if not supported for a kernel.. it will not boot or give problems after it.. but it wont stop installation of rc4
anyway.. rc4 supports alfs v9
