It's not Wikipedia, but XDA-Developers Wiki
Unlocking was the hardest part (lose all data and likely no backup )
Just flash any (compatible) recovery and reboot into it.
Then flash su.zip to get root access.

how do you root your nexus one without unlocking the bootloader
when i root it how can i put it back to stock.(incase anything goes wrong, )

Haven't found a good step by step on how to root my HTC Incredible S. If someone would be so courteous to make one or derect to one I would sure appreciate it

Normally the HTC Incredible S ROMs are rooted.. For steps to flash a new ROM, you can use the following steps:. You don't need to downgrade you HBOOT (new models have 2.0).

first of all ,u must unlocked your IS,then flash a recovery
after that,u can install root or a rom via recovery.

Okay... I have looked around, saw a few guides, Think its 90% clear to me how to do this.. HOWEVER just to be certain::
First I unlock through htc website..
Root it, then add a custom recovery (clock work mod tool i think??)
Then flash it somehow?
I would appreciate if someone could direct me to a super noob friendly guide on how to do this?
The plan is to put on a google play edition ROM onto my new normal HTC One.

Hey there ,
I wanted to unroot my htc one as i heard there is a new 4.3 update soon.
So i did a cleanup in supersu and its gone now but i also want to flash to stock recovery?
Can someone provide me instructions on how to flash back to stock recovery please.
Sorry im a noob lol i have only jailbroken ios before.
Btw im on a plan with optus.

thanks for the quick reply, where can i find a guide? ive found some guides but i need a ruu for my carrier which isnt available.
Please post a link or something so I can root my sprint m8 and install twrp or cwm

its really simple just download this link extract the files then run the program and follow the steps make sure you unlock the boot loader first
