[Q] Rocket Rom ICS v7, home key issues - Galaxy Note GT-N7000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Firstly I apologize for posting in Q&A's, due to the 10 post restriction I was unable to post in the rocket rom thread in android development and Q&A's seemed the second most ideal place.
After a day of horror, I tried merely flashing Abyss Kernel 4.2 but I ended up somehow in a soft brick accessing the recovery and download modes only. After ages I decided to try my luck installing Rocket rom v7 and it thankfully worked and my phone is up and running.
However, I have faced a couple of issues with it, of which the major one is the lack of response when hitting the home (center key) on my international version of the galaxy note. It doesn't work whatsoever, I've also noticed that the lock screen has disappeared too, so when I put the phone to sleep and wake it I get taken to the page I closed on rather than the lock screen. The latter I have fixed by using widgetlocker, although I am still oblivious as to how to fix the home key losing it's function.
Any advice etc? (especially if it's kept in layman terms, and nothing drastic... I despise flashing!!)
Moreover I was just wondering is there a set of instructions one could follow to return to a stock rom on the galaxy note via CWM?
Kind regards and thanks for your time

on what rom did you flash v7 ?
iam currently running it no issues at all, everything works maybe you 'll have to do a clean install just flash abyss kernel full wipe with it and reflash the rocketrom v7 using it dont not reboot until you flash the ROM since you flash a GB kernel on an ICS system....... wont boot just softbrick. watch it!
sounds like the system files a corrupt somehow and btw if case you changed kernel let us know too....

Ah yes sorry wasn't clearn.
I was firstly on ICS 4.0.3 stock rom XXLPY, I kept getting nagged about the kernel instability so I went and tried to flash Abyss kernel 4.2 (somehow stuffed it up ended up soft bricked). So I then flashed Rocket Rom v5 (after properly flashing Abyss kernel) via CWM. I think follow the steps to upgrade to v7.
Tbh I really do not want to mess with flashing and ODIN again >.> have become paranoid.

Grr couldn't find the post edit button, but tbh I do think it's a setting issue or so I am hoping I did play around with the rocket rom tweakbox and I imagine that may have been the cause of this issue or so I am hoping

Dont worry reboot to recovery and flash v7 again and reboot (no need to wipe or flash other kernels )

Wouldn't that just give me 2 copies of rocket rom and cause issues? Or will it install missing files?
So I should just install zip from SD and that's all?
Ok I am redownloading now and going to give it a shot.
Moreover, I would love for any advice on how I can return to stock rom... any advice would be most welcome. I'd prefer only to use CWM.
Or if there is perhaps another fix the issue above? Any comments would be most appreciated!

First of all yes you can install zip from as and select v7 (no it won't harm it will overwrite all files Yes, I understand want have duplicates unless they are from another rom but again full wipe would have removed them from before so you are ok.
Well idunno about CWM stock rom I prefer you use either pc odin or mobile odin (recommended) just charge the phone to 100% and install mobile odin set you stick firmware on sdcard and select open file in mobile odin then in case you want the root keep options as they are and select wiping option both. In case you don't want root deselect the object superuser options and still check the willing one
About home key issue might be a script issue one of hardware files is messed up so I can't tell for sure which but mostly the files are at system/usr/

Thanks for all your help REVERSiN, just to update you.
I tried re-installing v7 rocketrom and flashing however still faced the same issue of the home key etc. So I kept a stock rom in my external SD went to CWM recovery and did a full wipe, delvik cache wipe and cache wipe tried installing the stock rom however CWM had issues opening it and aborted. So I installed rocketrom v7 again and voila it works perfectly now and seems brilliant.
I think I still want to return to stock eventually, but I refuse to use Odin, I tried using odin twice and both times it froze the first on factorycs (although my phone wasn't bricked) and the second time yesterday on cache so yah I have had terrible luck with ODIN and I refuse to use it,.
Nonetheless if there is way to flash stock rom using CWM would be epic. However, until I am 100% sure on how to do it I'll be sticking to rocketrom.
Thanks again for all your help and time!

Problem to install ICSSGS RC 4.1

I try to install but don't work... after that i flash it, the phone lock to logo screen "google" and i can't go to CWM i must use odin to reflash. If install rc3.1 it's all ok.
Where is the problem?
Thanks.
Did you try looking at the help page on the thread in the development section? It's right before the post is finished, there will be a link that will lead you there.
Hope that helps, if not I can try to just copy and paste the instructions hahaha

yes... i try to flash a miui rom first also.
I try to do a full wipe... i try to install a original rom... but when i flash rc4.1 the phone stuck to logo.
Ensure you have backed up your EFS directory; if you don't know how ask.
To be honest, there appears to be some inconsistency in the reliability of the 4.1 RC release (across handsets); I have had persistent WIFI issues and then when the wifi fix was released I found the phone to just be a little laggy.
My advice if RC 3.1 works well for you is to keep it on there for now and wait for the next release they make.
However, if you still wish to flash it, there is no 100% working way - just keep factory reset, dalvik wipe, cache wipe, reset until it starts working! That's what I did as the original instructions did not work for me.

Hello, have you tried to download the rom again? Maybe it's a bad download..
That's odd, for me i got stats 7 but was because i was flashing the I9000B version and my phone was with the CWM for I9000. Try using odin and flash a sotck rom, after that install the CWM and then the RC4.1.
If anyone want to know the procedure that i do to install the RC4.1 is this:
Starting for CM7 --> flash the ARO 2.3.3 rom to re-write the bootloader (check this option in odin) --> flash the ZTO 2.2 rom to re-partition in original size partitions --> flash the 2.2.1 ARO because it's a nice rom and don't have all the trash that is present in ZTO version --> through kies flahs the ARO 2.3.3 original.
After that the procedure to install the RC4.1 is the standard: flash CWM then install the ROM.
I had problems going from 3.1 to 4.1. Same issue as OP.
Process I followed:
-Flashed CWM through heimdall
-Flashed devil kernel
-Flashed CM7 (had to do this twice in a row)
-Flashed ICSSGS 3.1
-Flashed 4.1 but before I rebooted my phone, I flashed Devil one last time.
Since then, phone has been rocking along just fine!

Yes... three times.
I'm having the same problem here.
I tried the first point on the Common Issues page but I'm still not able to go into CWM!
I flashed the Speemod Kernel using heimdll but I can't go back to CM7. I'm getting a Stat 7 error.
Also tried the Devils kernel (Devil_1.0_CFS) with no help ....
Any ideas?
Just wondering...

why on earth did you flash the CM7 as a part of the process? I always have just downloaded an appropriate kernel (devil, stockplus etc..) + ICS ROM (latest was RC4.1), once I'd rooted my stock 2.3.6 ROM with CF-Root (takes only 5 minutes). ICSSGS' ROMs can be applied straight on top of any previous ROM, the only requirement is that you have root privileges + CWM installed. Flashing CM7 is often frustrating, at least for me. I personally see no point in flashing it before the ICS ROM. If you know better, pleasy enlighten me

[Q] abnormal error, can anyone help me?

Hi,
I as of yet, am not going close to any ICS build till the issue gets solved by someone.
so I am experimenting with different gb roms. i was using checkrom v6 but didnt like it, so followed steps to install darkyrom/alliancerom extreme edition. i followed the steps as I was told to install allianceota and flash the rom through there. it didnt work. so instead using cmw i flashed through recovery, it did flash but there no root.
so now, i reflashed a stock la6 rooted rom from here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025
this went smoothly with no problems, so i installed allianceota as normal, this time when i try to flash the following messages come up:
Installing Multi-CSC
Can't access to '/system/CSC/KOR/system/'
Successfully applied multi CSC"
and then it gives me the option to reboot, wipe cache and a few other options, not full recovery mode.
shall i just reflash the rom through recovery, or am I doing something wrong? and does the slight error above mean I have a problem with my note?
cheers in advance.
Let me just say that almost every ICS ROM out there now has disabled the MMC_CAP_ERASE code in the kernel that activates the eMMc bug and bricks your phone. If you want stock ICS, you can use SpeedMod or Franco kernels. If you want AOKP, there is that now. If you want CM9, there's a bunch of variations plus the official CM9 nightly. If you read through the OP and stickies, you will be okay.
Are you on stock recovery still? It sounds like it from the error you are getting. Try flashing CWM recovery and installing the GB rom with that. Follow Drketan's thread in Android Development.
hmmm, so would you advise me to use ics? is it much better? i dont want to use cm9 builds as i need the spen apps and so on. i have looked into kingdroid or alba.
I'll have to think hard about this. i may give it a shot soon though..
oh and btw, I fixed the problem, yep it was to do with cwm it wasn't installed with the stock rooted rom. as for allianceota, it still didnt flash the rom, i had to flash the rom through cwm manually.
cheers anyhow.

I love ICS a lot more than GB. If you want to use stock ICS, I would just use Franco or Speedmod kernels with it and be safe. Read both of their forums and decide what you want to do.
I had the same problem with rom deodex i had flash with odin 1.85 firmware gingerbread here ; http://www.hotfile.com/dl/152168378/f76281c/N7000XXLC1_N7000OXXLB3_ATO.zip.html... then i made wipe cache and cache dalvick .
I've just flashed AlBa repack latest one on xxlq2, I did it by following the steps,
I thought i had broken my phone, because when the flashing finished and i was rebooting, at the beginning when it welcome to galaxy note n7000 and then goes to the bootup video, it restarted that several times, then after like a few minutes it loaded the homescreen and startup.

[Q] My Note has Nightmares!!!

Hi people.
I have a question.
When my Note goes to deep sleep mode, the screen blinks back on on it's own as if it's awaking from a bad dream!
It's frustrating, how can i make it stop?
Try jbroid kernel cleaning then reflash your kernel

mention your ROM and KERNEL....and its funny...i mean the Title of your thread
It's true! it's waking up from deep sleep and then all day it has a foul mood. I've tried doctors, i've tried everything, you are my last hope guys!
My Rom is N7000XXLA4, kernel is:2.6.35.7-N7000XXLA6=CL907341 [email protected]#2(Do i really need to write all this when people ask me what kernel i have or would a shorter version suffice?)
I am on gingerbread.
Now i just noticed a thread registering the same problem i have under the title: Deep Sleep Problem
I have the same issue.

ReFlash Kernel means you on the custom Kernel already, and if you on the stock, it's not applicable. You can just download the PC-odin 1.85 or 1.87, then flash the right official ROM for your country from the sammobile.com site, with hard reset before. OR, you can go to the custom ROM. OR, you can try just hard reset.
I am on official rom and i have just gotten the phone back from a logic board replacement.
I want to install a custom ROM and eventually go to ICS but first i have to fix those deep sleep hiccups.
I am trying to determine the best course of action.
In the following hours i am going to root my device and the reflash my rom based on this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1462309
and then i am going to install CMW and titanium backup so i won't lose my apps(i really don't want to install them from the beginning.)
The rom i have will not update to ICS as it's brand new. Do you think i should wait or change ROM and get ICS?
About the kernel now, why is it important to flash the kernel other from this particular situation?
Also can you provide a few links where i can safely learn how to flash the kernel?
Thank you all in advance

Unfortunately i cannot provide the links, because i'm "new member". I'm only reading here, before today.
But, the course of action for you:
1) If you will flash the custom ROM with the custom kernel you do not need to deal with the sleep mode, because the kernel is controlling modes/clocks and ither vital parts of life of your phone. Kernel is the main part of the "soft" in your phone.
2) Remember the one most important thing: DO NOT USE wipe cache/format data, on the samsung official 4.0 - 4.03 in CWM. If you need to wipe, you need to install the Abyss kernel 3.9-4.2
How to:
You need to find PC-Odin 1.85 or 1.87, and the rooted ROM with CWM in *.tar format. Close all kies services with "task manager".
Connect your phone in download mode (home+vol. down+power and when is powerd on and asking you about flashing, vol. up), launch Odin. You will see yellow quadrant in odin. Then you need to click on "PDA", then selecting the downloaded ROM file, and do not forget the "pda" checkbox. Do not touch the other checkboxes, then Start.
Wait before it's flashed.
This is the basic guide, as i said, i cannot provide you with the links, so if you need something more - ask, i'll try to help you.
QA:
What is CWM? CWM is advanced recovery program. It's built-in in kernel. You can enter in CWM by pressing in powerd off phone home+vol.up+power.
Wht is kernel? Kernel is the core component of the phone ROM. You can flash it separate from other parts of ROM.
You can also flash separately the Modem (phone), CSC and UMS parts. Remember, some kernels do not support some ROMs, for example: If you'll flash the Cyanogen Mod, and then some Franco kernel, your phone will cannot start properly. Ofc. you can use CWM in this case.
This is scary to flash my phone? No, if you read all instructions, you can "breack it" in the only one case: you'll wipe it from the CWM builded in official samsuung 4.0 - 4.0.3 RoM.
What is "wipe/format user data"? This is the way to clear your personal data, and the other trash in your system. You need to wipe before installing new ROM.
What happens if i flash new ROM without it? Nothing, but some of your apps can work incorrect in this way.
How to flash kernel from CWM? Download the kernel in *.zip file, copy it to the SD-card, restart in CWM, install zip file. If you have *tar file, use the PC-Odin.

But i still have questions.
1st: What if i don't want to flash a custom ROM just yet? how can i get rid of the deep sleep hiccups without going off the official roms?
2nd: What will happen if i wipe my cache during ICS in CWM?
3rd: I recently flashed the CSC from KOR to EUR(I did it because i couldn't access Kies, and i chose EUR because it's corresponding to my country). My current ROM didn't offer DBT as an option. So if i flash it again and find an N7000XXLA4 Rom with DBT offered will i have the ICS update available through official channels?
4th: What does UMS stand for, what does it do?
Thank you in advance

1. You need to switch off your device, than remove the battery for ~10 sec. Then switch it on, and do not touch it before it's switched to standby, then wait about 35 minutes for deep sleep. But if it doesn't work, u can flash it with official firmware with Odin. Sammobile have all official roms. You didn'g get the yellow triangle this way.
2. You will brick your device. And loose some int. memory in advance (~4gb). Why? Because official samsung rom have an error, and it's rewriting your NAND memory again and again with full speed of your CPU and memory dying in the few seconds (about 100-200k rewrites supported).
3. What for do you need the OTA??? You can flash china, korean, even russian official roms through odin without fear. And then you can get OTA's. Custom kernels do not support OTA in any form. Just think: if you flashing custom rom, how you can get official over it?
4. Don't know ))) UMS - usb mass storage, i think, but i'm not sure in this. And i do not know what for we can use it.
Hi. I noticed I had the exact same problem yday on my note. I turn off the screen, 5 seconds later the screen turns on again (on the lockscreen), stays for 2 seconds and then turns off. Then another 20 seconds later repeat. My phone definitely was going to deep sleep (checked with CPU spy), but this "nightmare" thing was annoying. I was on RR v6 with Speedmod k3. I dunno what the reason was for this, so I just simply changed my kernel to Goku v1. The issues seems to have gone away now. I dunno what was causing it, but I am just sharing what I did to get rid of this.
I rooted my device(with CF-Root) and then flashed a kernel and then returned to my original one.
The problem is still here.
Later today i am going to try and return to a CMW friendly kernel and then flash the jBroid Kernel Cleaning Script that adamskoc mentioned in his post.
I will be posting results.
By the way even with the custom Kernel my activity from last night is summarized by this picture:
All night the phone was restless...
Yupp I've had this problem also before. The no deep sleep bug. To get rid of this follow this:
Put the phone in airplane mode.
Turn off the phone.
Take out the battery.
Wait for like a minute and put the battery back in and turn on the phone.
Wait for the phone to completely reboot and be stable (scanning usb etc).
Now turn off airplane mode.
I dunno whats the relation but I never had the no deep sleep issue after following these steps.

I did that yesterday. Didn't work.
I have just finished flashing the jBroid.
I will be keeping you posted.
/Edit: it's not working... I tried flashing a new kernel, i tried the jBroid script, i tried the airplane mode trick... Nothing. What the hell is going on here? Could this be a hardware issue? I just got my logical board replaced due a previous faulty one, could they have replaced it with a used one that might also have problems? I don't know what to make. Does that happen?
This is so screwed up...

[Q] Problem installing kernel. Please help.

Before I begin, yes... I did search and look through a few threads with similar titles but did not find my problem.
I am not a phone geek and I am new to all this, but I rooted my Note along with a "Franco kernel", which worked successfully. My phone booted up as it was before (in fact I noticed absolutely no difference in my phone, whatsoever).
The problems begun when I tried to install an "Abyss" kernel via CWM, which apparently installed successfully, but the phone would never get past boot-up (not so successful after all, huh?). I realized that it wasn't going to work, so I though no problem, and went back into CWM and re-installed the Franco kernel that I was using before (which worked). Strangely, this kernel, too, would now no longer boot.
I successfully restored the phone with a GB rom via odin (teriible rom), and proceeded to install the so-called "Hydracore" kernel (love the names) via cwm.... this kernel made things even worse. Once again the installation was supposedly "successful", but the phone doesn't go past boot. This time, it gets stuck on a very dim black screen, which isn't actually black, it is a dark creamy/pink hue that you can only notice in absolute darkness. (WTF?) This screen has random black blotches on it, but again, if you are in a lit up room the screen looks completely black and you cannot tell that it is actually lit. When I say that this kernel made the problems even worse, I say that because when this happens (dim black screen), I cannot even enter CWM recovery at all to try and install a different kernel. From here, I can only access download mode, and have no choice but to restore the phone with the GB rom via odin. I did so, and proceeded to install the latest version of "Hydracore" (v5.4) posted right here on XDA by the member 'chasmodo.' This time, I did the installation of the kernel via odin, which, once again, was supposedly successful... and once again a lie, as the phone just goes into the same black screen, with no option other than download mode.
The sole reason I have wasted hours of my life researching and understanding mobile phone terminology in the past few days is so that I can have jellybean on my Note. It seems that I am unable to do this because the Kernels are not working on my device. I have a very powerful and capable phone, which is currently stuck on this GB rom (which I think has to be the most terrible piece of coding ever made) so any help on this would be immensely appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
can you try go back to stock GB rom.. then upgrade to ICS and root using Dr Ketans method and then install Hydracore
You flashed Hydracore on GB rom? that's the main reason behind your problem, this Kernel is not for GB. Now either flash custom GB kernel or flash stock GB firmware using pc odin and then root it. Check post # 2 in this thread for rooting. (I guess you know how to do this )
Once you have root and cwm recovery, you can flash any custom rom you want.

Hi there, sorry to hear of your challenges.
One thing to remember before flashing is the nature of safe / unsafe kernels. Equally as important is compatible / non compatible kernels. It's not clear from your post but did you flash Abyss on an ICS ROM? If so, Abyss is a GB kernel. It will install but the ROM wont run due to lack of compatibility.
Abyss is used by many as a Safe kernel, a base to flash a new ROM from . Alternatively, it can be used to "downgrade" to Gingerbread ROMs.
If you are intent on trying a JB ROM, I would suggest a doing a full wipe (use the numerous guides on XDA) and a kernel clean (jBroid Script Cleaner for example). Now, research Chasmodo's excellent Kernel Repository and choose a kernel. Hydracore 4.3 Standard is a good "benchmark" however you could try the Official CM10 kernel from Entropy. Reboot to Recovery and flash your JB ROM of choice.
You will now have "Full Wiped" (including Script Clean), installed a Safe (Compatible) Kernel and flashed a compatible ROM.
For what its worth, I found GB to be an excellent ROM, particularly 2.3.6 and 2.3.7. CheckROM was one of my favorite ROMs on the S2 and they didnt even feel the need (till recently) to make an ICS version.
I hope this helps. Please hit THANKS if it did.

Yes, I forgot to mention that when I rooted it I was running official 4.0.3 which I got OTA. After I rooted I tried the Abyss kernel. I had read that if you try and install CM10 straight from ICS you can brick, and that you had to downgrade to GB to do this. There must have been a misunderstanding on my part as I though that installing Abyss would downgrade me to GB.
What I don't understand is that I have now installed a GB rom, yet the Abyss gb kernel still does not work.
The two members that posted mentioned that I should root, though I did mention in the OP that it is already rooted... Am I missing something?
Anyway, I want to avoid having to download any more big files. I already have the latest "nightly" build of CM10 in my SD card. Is there any GB kernel that I can install from where I am now that would make it safe to install the CM10 zip?

If I were on a GB ROM and wanted to run CM10 I would Full Wipe (including Cache and Dalvik) then do the following -
Flash Official CM10 kernel.
Reboot to Recovery (do not go straight to ROM flash)
Once back in Recovery, flash the CM10 ROM.
Reboot device.

So the official CM10 kernel is a gb kernel? Because remember that is what I'm currently on.
And just to make sure I got you... wipe everything, install kernel (I don't understand what you mean by "go straight to rom flash"), but then not "reboot system", instead "reboot to recovery", then install CM10 rom?
Also, when you say a "full wipe" do you mean that it will erase everything like a factory reset and delete all my apps and everything else? And is there anyway to install CM10 without doing this or is that the only way?
Cm10 kernel is a jelly bean kernel, so gb rom will not run under it.
Full wipe does mean erasing everything. Coming from gb, there is no other way to install, you need a full wipe, remember, you're updating two full revisions of the os, so it's not surprising a full wipe is needed. If you're worried about your apps, root gb before upgrading and use titanium backup to backup you're apps and then restore them when on cm10.

If you are on rooted GB Rom and want to flash a custom JB or ICS one, this is what you do:
1. drop into recovery
2. do a full wife™ (factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik)
3. flash your JB/ICS Rom
4. reboob
Nothing else is needed, no intermediate steps like flashing another kernel in between, and especially no running Jbroid or Sybr kernel cleaning script.

You telling me that I can safely go straight to JB from my current GB rom and kernel?
I already have a "nightly" JB rom on my SD card, so just to be clear, all I do is go into CWM recovery, do a "full" wipe (how do I do that by the way?) and install the JB rom from zip?
Yes, you can go ahead. Just follow the instructions kindly provided by chasmodo.
But please, do not forget to flash GApps after you flashed the JB "nightly ROM which is on your SD Card". Otherwise you won't have Google account, play store etc yada yada.
Full wipe (aka full-wife™) means wipe data/factory reset. Nothing else.

Great! I am downloading the GApps for JB now. How do I install them? I understand that this is also done through CWM recovery, but how do I instal them? do I install the JB rom and reboot to recovery and then just install GApps from zip before rebooting system?
Also, does the full wipe have to be done in CWM recovery, or can I just do the normal wipe on the phone menu before entering recovery?
You flash the ROM by pointing the recovery to the "ROM.zip", the same is valid for "GApps.zip".
So you do the following, no reboot in recovery in between those 2 steps!
Install zip (from where it is located, internal/external SD )
*ROM.zip
*Gapps.zip
*reboot system
Wipe data/factory reset is done (most of the times) in recovery. Just get used to it. Saves you some bad habits on doing it on stock ICS ...

OK install ROM and then install GApps straight away, got it.
Just about the wipe, is it a simple one button wipe that wipes everything, or are there several things that I have to wipe independently? This is the part I'm not too sure about.
Just go into recovery and have a look. I mean, a really close look! Your topic was "need help to install a kernel" not "I don't know how to use recovery and please can someone come over to my place in order to explain me CWM recovery".
Sorry. Everything has been explained. Can't (or rather dont want to) help you further than what has been already mentioned. Period.

That's fine. I'll go into recovery and have a look. Thanks for the help that you did give anyway.
It worked! I have been messing around with my new Note on Jellybean and looking through all the settings. It doesn't have project butter (or at least the project wasn't very successful), but still miles ahead of Touchwiz.
Just want to extend a big thanks to everyone that has helped me out. Much appreciated.

[Q] Help me understand whats going on.

okay, first of all i will say that im sorry if what im writing is full on faulty language. enlgish isnt my best. aaaanuslut i got my brothers old gt n7000 with a broken touchpad and screen for free. i repaired that with 160€ and my brother said that the phone was rooted. i found out he had allso overclocked the device. But after a few restarts to the phone it just said something what i think was in spanish or something "bla bla bla dos sistema". After that came not your old samsung logo, but purple blueish circles just circling. Ant thats it, it would not start. So i read about bricked devices, and as much as i understood i had a soft brick. so i was looking aroun the forum for some easy fixes becasue im totally stranger to this kind of hacking. i finaly found this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F97qo1moAR4 and i downloaded custom jb N7000XXLSZ_N7000OPSLS6_N7000XXLSO_HOME.tar. it did work but again after i tried to restart the phone it was stuck.
So since i dont want any custom stuff i think to my self why not stock rom. so i found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997. But since i dont like JB as much as ICS i will try ICS. Her is the question: i allready did the factory reset and cache wipe but this instruction says not to FROM ICS.
Warning :
Don't wipe anything from stock ICS recovery
Don't factory reset/Hard reset on stock ICS.
Don't flash any Wipe version of ICS ROM
Does that mean that i have allready gone wrong or does that mean that you have to have ICS on youre phone and then you cant do any of those things? its really confusing and i dont want to fk up my phone.

Yes i can
flash via recovery phils kernel, (a newer one) reboot in recovery and perform the wipe for new rom option.
That should clean your device good.
Then flash what you want. After that download an emmc check app and check. Shouldnt be needed, but its nice to check.

Allright, thankyou, since i am new to all this stuff i will try to locate a tutorial. i dont have any idea for instance, what is recovery phils kernel.
at own risk, here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1901191. Download zip, keep zipped and put on external sd. Reboot recovery and flash via install from sd option.
Since we are going to wipe latest version will do fine. However if you plan to reflash the original Samsung rom one that is same or likewise version is best to quickly root after flashing rom, so you can flash speedmod kernel (better battery life) after. Find in original dev thread of this forum.
Remember, via factory format on phills kernel recovery(reboot in recovery) you have the option to do a wipe for new rom.
Otherwise on Phills kernel recovery do factory, cache wipe. In advanced dalvik cache, in mounts all(warning take out external sd before so you dont wipe that)
Then your phone is clean, you shouldnt have to wipe efs anyway, so dont tick that option ever in pc odin when flashing rom with odin.
This is the cleanest way to get rid of All leftovers and generally the way to go before flashing any new rom. However risk of loosing photos and whatever you have not backed up. In general backing up is bad as old files/db/etc are put back (risk of unforeseen stuff happening) Check one of my 5 threads for what backups there are. Via my profile you find them
Enjoy!

Okay, im thankful for all this information, useful stuff, got the PhilZ-cwm6-XXLT6-XSA-5.06.1-signed.zip.
let us know how it went, ok?
OOOKAY! so i finaly did what baz77 described. and rooted with another phils kernel witch i chose after my downloaded rom. Did root it, and after powering down and waiting about 3-5 sec. i started it, and it worked, no more getting stuck on gt n7000 screen and so on. and i also downloaded emmc check app, but unfortunatley it said. Brick bug: YES. Insane Chip.
sorry for double post, how do i delete? all i can do is use edit/delete button but it only edits the post, how can i delte it?
You cant but thats ok.
all n7000 have the brickbug to my knowledge, the test should state if the bug has been triggered, if not then super, if it has, best to secure the broken emmc sectors. Tricky.
I think having it clean now should eliminate earlier issues Enjoy your n7000
Thank you, i will, lately my n7000 has been rebooting randomly, any fix or know issue why this occures?

not sure how that is happening. Maybe a logcat (logfiles) shows whats happening when it happens. Could be app. Maybe rom issue. Method of elimination counts here.
On safe kernel, try dalvik cache, cache wipes and fix permissions in recovery, reboot and check if reoccurs.
Otherwise, updated versions, clean install I would recommend.
You can check also before with that emmc app if there are bad sectors. I dont expect it but you never know
Okay, its been a long time since i did that stuff. And it worked allirght. i got my phone working and rooted. Great stuff here
Sorry for updating old topic. Since people who have helped me with my phone allready are familiar with my case. I was wisiting a friend of mine in england and after i returned home my phone is f**ked. Everything works okay, but when i turn on mobile data or wifi it instantly freezes. Takes about 15-20 sec. and then phone does an automatic restart which restarting gets into boot loop. I have to hold down bower button to reboot again. When it asks me for sim unlock code, i have to be quick when im inserting it because i need to turn off mobiledata/wifi as soon as ia get my phone running again, otherwise it will freeze and crash again. Can it be somekind of virus or something? Is it most likely that i have to again format and install philz kernel and all that stuff? Thanks in advance.
that would be the best way to start..IMO
I really dont have the time or opportunity to format and reflash, but i guess its really difficult, near imbossible to tell whats wrong with my samsung. Bust still, any other suggestions?
