Hi there,
I'm new to xda-developers but not completely new to android. I have also created my own ROM, which is pretty amazing trust me, but apparently I am not allowed to share it with others unless I get quite a lot of thanks and stuff so if this helps you please press the thank button.
OK, here we go:
ROM => (CM7.2 vo-1) =>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360889&highlight=cyanogenmod+7+2+rc1+by+vo-1
the kernel on this ROM is perfect so you don't need to change the kernel.
Script => (Adrenaline™ Engine) =>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1579710&highlight=adrenaline+engine
this script will do, you don't need to fill your phone with scripts and stuff ok
Note!! => CM7.2 (cyanogenmod 7.2) is obviously not in need of any app or script to control the CPU, to do so simply go to settings>cyanogenmod settings>performance>cpu and there you could do whatever you want. also cynogenmod is apparently asked by google to not include their apps in the rom so you will have to flash them your self to do so simply click on this link to download them >>>I'm a link<<< and then flash the zip through clockwork mod ...
Also you may decrease the force closes by making a swap partition on your sd since you have a 16gb one. this also helps to smooth out some games and you will be able to do more multi tasking. to do this reboot into clockwork mod... (note if you partition your sd you will loose all data so copy all the things you have there to your pc and another thing partitioning your sd could decrease the sd lifetime) then choose advance next choose partition sd card now it will ask you to set the size choose 256mb and 256mb again thats more than enough for me but its always up to you mate.
once you have done all that and everything is up and running download root explorer or any app that allows you to access root directory. since cyanogenmod comes with this ****ing ADWlauncher (no offence to the devs) you defiantly gonna have to change it. this holo launcher thingy is the best home launcher ever so here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1636478 download the latest stable version. now use your root file manager to move the apk file to this location /system/app then change the permissions to rw-r--r-- ok? now delete Adwlauncher.apk and adwlauncher.odex go it ? note!! install another launcher like launcher pro before you do just in case anything goes wrong. reboot now. cool.
there are many things you could do mate but I don't even know if you will use or read all of that so this is it for now if you run into any problem or want more stuff and tweaks let me know ill be more than happy to help
and good luck
hmm, i'm using team 16 gb class 10 and a2sd.. my config is 2gb for sd-ext and 100mb for swap with swappines 60%..
my rom is lewa without any script, i don't like placebo script..
best kernel for battery : firekernel
everything runs great for me

Hey guys I'm a bit new to OC/UV and I need a little clarification regarding it. I'm using Onix Kernel on Andromeda3 overclocked to 1.2 ghz and lets say I wanted to switch the rom or kernel. Is it necessary to delete the settings? Do I just delete the app before flashing the new kernel/rom?
Nope, no need to uninstall the voltage control app. Just flash your new kernel and you'll be good to go. Be aware that if you open the app again on a kernel that does not allow oc, you'll get a friendly " bazinga" message telling you that the kernel is not supported.
Continuum 5.5 and existz's latest......
Thanks man, helps a lot

It is not necessary sometimes, But sometimes it is. Especially if the voltages for the kernel change at ll, that would make your previous 'stable' settings possibly not so stable- resulting in a bootloop or any other crashing. Its always safe practice to remove your boot settings before flashing a new kernel. If that kernel is OC/UV capable and your settings stick, but aren't good for that particular build- you may find yourself having to delete those settings anyway.
You can grab the file in my sig and flash from recovery if you accidentally save settings as boot- or forget to remove your settings- It's a nice gem to have on your SD card if your an Overclocker. NOTE: It will only flash in CWM3.x. So if your running a gingerbread ROM- you can use the zip file
13-08-2011 minimodX slicker than a well-oiled weasel
- installer borrowed/modded from T.J´s & paramasis ideas work
check out paramasis great rom here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15811702#post15811702
now lets see:
pre root deodexed vanilla KPK with su,jit,a2sd,juwes ramscript,dsp manager, Open VPn (tun.ko) Cifs manager (cifs.ko), hosts patched (adsblocked),Stock samsung launcher -wallpaper works now.. Android Keyb - useless pile ocrap -Autokiller mem app -Obsolete, using juwe script in rom instead - less bloat.
Sdbooster - Obsolete -new script in init.d -faster less bloat. CRT fx screen off ( settings-display-enable animatons).
Reboot menu had to go. (you can add it easy if you know what yer doin
yep thats it + gui changes.
The Idea with minimod was to remove bloat - and that worked very well - paramasi and Meistro T.j did great work but still the roms are vanilla and full of stuff I never use - so just try your vanilla or xmod or andro-id or cyano - its a matter of taste.
easy run minimodX @ 7-8xx mhz? - use the OC kernels in paramasi rom and remember to put cache on SDEXT -BEFORE flashing oc kernel

I am pretty much sure you need to be rooted for overclock. Are you?
lots of kernels which allow for OC. Several programs that allow you to monitor and set OC available on the market, most have a free version that you can try and then buy the pro version once you have made a choice. Some kernels allow for more user control and variance, others are more prescribed -- a lot of it is personal preference and so much is phone dependent: no 2 phones are the same in terms of what OC or UV settings they will sustain.
Lastly, most kernels will have their own group of users and advocates. Some have experimented extensively with alternate kernels, some less so, but all will have a passion for the kernel that is their personal preference. There really is no substitute for your own trial and error. Download 3 or 4 and try them with a stock rom -- root and use sgs kernel flasher -- flash a custom kernel, set your OC and use it for a day. Flash another, repeat the process and continue until you find your preference.
Having found the kernel you like best, then set about flashing a custom rom that plays nice with your chosen kernel.
Take about a week but at the end you will know what you like best and why.
Between flashes, clean cache and davlik cache -- keep a good backup of apps on your pc or external sd, and even better, completely cleanse the phone between kernels -- that will standardize things and allow each kernel to operate on a clean system.

Yes i am, and i used a lagfix "if that make difference".
Sorry i know i'm noob but i'm afraid to flash into a kernael which is not oc-able :S
So do i have to know any precautions first? or the CWM is enough to restore the original kernel?
its quite easy my friend download semaphore kernel 1.8.0 and flash it via odin or recovery and after flashing just go to semaphore script manager change ur overclock values.......too simple
And then use apps such Voltage Control (in the market) to select speed & voltage of the processor.
Thx all i appreciate all your help
and for guys having the same issue here's the topic that helped me alot..:

and i don't recommend OC the processor, "SpeedMod" kernel made me satisfied.
EzyICS Kernel v1
for 6800 For Stock XXLQ1 (Austrian) Roms
FEATURES - Version 1 (31/07/12)
1) Built from GT-P6800_ICS_Opensource_Update1.zip
(Thanks Samsung for broken config settings. / Took me ages to figure out some kernel issues!!!)
2) Various compiler optimizations (neon etc.) ( Debug stuff remains for now but will be taken after some more mods are added )
So should get smoother / more optimised in time
3)Mali state tracking disabled
4) Removed MMC_CAP_ERASE (BrickBug)
5) /etc/init.d/S* script support
Add your various tweak / ramscripts from custom roms etc. here
6) Added Pegasusq Governor - (recommend as it deals better with multi-cpu devices like our tabs but may require some tweaking)
7) Overclocking Support upto - 1600 mhz
(ICS changes how frequency control is implemented so not as easily overclockable as honeycomb.)
Fixed CPU Boot Up frequencies to default values / not overclocked settings
8) Undervolting Support:
Some of my settings - (ALL DEVICES will be different)
I have only tried undervolting at these frequencies so far 200 / 500 / 16000 hz (As these are the most used)
So far running pretty stable on:
1600 mhz -------------------> 1300mv
1400 mhz -------------------> 1250mv
1200 mhz -------------------> 1175mv
1000 mhz -------------------> 1075mv
800 mhz ---------------------> 1000mv
500 mhz ---------------------> 875mv
200 mhz ---------------------> 875mv
Use SetCpu to change voltages or cpu overclocks.
9) Slightly undervolted GPU voltages
(As ICS is not as overclockable as honeycomb - needed to reduce heat)
Reduced by 50mv for default GPU levels
10) Bootanimation support
place in /system/media
11) in built CIFS support
Changed Max_BUFFER Size to max 130084
Thanks to Pinkowl for first supporting this.
In cifs options put:
rsize=130048
12) NFS share mounting.
13) UDF & ISO support - i.e native bluray disk support.
Other optimizations & stuff - to be added.
Believe me this stuff takes a whole lot of time to do & test - with high risk etc.
Please support my works and further development on 7.7 tabs by purchasing my apps (only 1 for now on google play. Latest version adds MTP/UMS switching for 7.7 tabs)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hokikoki.ezymountcontrol&hl=en
Installation:
**Important***
Make sure backup your device first in CWM.
As this is a kernel only - it does not flash over your data/apps/system etc you should be able to simply restore boot.img from advanced restore settings in CWM if things go wrong. I have done this myself.
I am still using my previous cwm (honeycomb based kernel) and it is working fine for me. So should any other honeycomb based kernel cwm recoveries should be ok too)
1) You can either simply flash zImage using heimdall:
(THIS WILL INCREASE YOUR BINARY DOWNLOAD COUNT OR WHATEVER ITS CALLED)
sudo heimdall flash --kernel zImage
(zImage is in cwm flashable zip file)
or
2) Flash in the CWM
p6800_EzyICSKernel.zip
No need to wipe data cache
( I need someone to confirm that CWM flashing works, as I use heimdall)
Usual disclaimer - flash at your own risk.
(Souces code changes added below)
Cheers,
List of Reported Issues - to be addressed in next version hopefully.
Although there is no reason to wipe data / cache etc when using this kernel or restoring stock kernel.
1) Wiping from within Android ICS may cause boot loops.
If you insist of wiping within Android ICS - please go back to stock kernel- first restore (stock kernel) boot.img from andvanced restore / in cwm. then do a wipe
Alternatively - just wipe in data/cache in CWM and you should be fine.

It will not change the partition structure.
Have you tried heimdall. I would suggest try using one of the first released honeycomb firmwares as it should be a wipe one i am guessing.
Once back on hc then flash ics.
Worth a try.
So by flashing this kernel i can overclock in Setcpu to 1600mhz?
Applied this server over ICS Quckisilver 1 pre. Works perfect. Udervolted by 50 throughout the full spectrum.

Are you in download mode. I use linux for heimdall so if its a driver issue you will need to specific ones for your distro. Besides having a faulty emmc you should be able to get back to working state. you will need to repartition i suspect but try flashing first.

Cm9 is pretty much vanilla android /linux - so different enough to be incompatible but could be done. This version is a long way off before i could do so anytime soon.
thanks for this awesome kernel.
If anyone has found a way to decrease brightness A LOT below factory thresholds, I would be delighted to know.
Thing is way to bright in a plane or in bed.

Hey dudes!
I'm on cyangenmod 7.2, and i need to install a script for increase my internal memory (i don't want to use link2sd)
So i checked some post and there 2 script that look great : ungaze and int2ext
which one is better for my version of cyanogen?
i heard that both are great, but which one do you advice me to take?
thank you !
U can go for int2ext iff you have extn on your sd card. I neva tired ungaze. or you can also go for s2e, search in themes and app section
