I am a noob with ROMs. I unlocked my phone with...
[TOOL] HTC Vivid All-In-One Toolkit V2.2 [6-7-2012] [PERM ROOT] [Noob-Proof]
Is there a ROM that is pure Ice Cream Sandwich with the proper drivers for the HTC Vivid? Is there one similar to the first question but keeps HTC Sense?
I think the closest you'll get is by Wajee: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582670
I'm running it now and love it. Very stable, very clean.
I saw that one, but I hate trying ones without screenshots. I might go ahead and bite on it though.
You might also want to try Virtuous Inquisition. I am currently trying it out and so far have no issues.

Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.2.1 is what I am running now. IMO, it is the best ROM for the Vivid currently available. I do wish though it had the clock/weather widgets and would fix the signal strength bars perhaps also increasing them to 5 or 6 bars instead of 4.

I was actually using the other one that has the weather to the right of the clock to save screen space. I might go ahead and try the one you linked to but damn that thing is BIG.
Does anyone know how to get rid of the Google Search bar on the top of all the home screens in Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.2.1 without uninstalling Google Search? It doesn't appear to be able to be dragged to remove.

Virtuous Inquisition v4.0.2.1 "might". It has what appear to be Arabic-looking characters during the first boot setup.

Maybe, lol. The HTC Vivid is one of AT&T's first 4G LTE phones and was recently released so the chances of it getting upgraded to a newer Android OS is pretty good IMO.

It is allegedly v3.5 of Sense. Looks legit enough to be true, according to reports it is what could become part of an official update for our Inc S (that is rumour and speculation though, don't take it as fact). This actual ROM ins't an official update (or if it is it is in early beat) as the backlights don't even light up. More likely, it is a port from the upcoming HTC Bliss

Word also has it that HTC is removing hardware requirements that restricted version 3.0 to the company's highest-end devices, which gives hope to millions of Sense users still on an older, more streamlined UI.

This looks interesting, 3.5 would be nice to have on the IS. Is it supposed to be less resource hungry than Sense 3?

I was trying to look for another thread to tag this onto but couldn't find one that exactly matched my posting. Mods, if this needs to be moved, please feel free to do so.
This said and with a little bit of Photoshop, I've created new data (4G LTE, 4G, 3G) and signal bar icons to add a little bit of color to the top taskbar.
These icons are the ones from AT&T but should work for most ICS 4.0.3 (3.26.502.5x) ROM’s. Don’t forget to backup just in case. Flash in CWM.
If you like it, hit "Thanks".
Edit: By the way, don't forget to backup just in case. This was built off AT&T ICS 4.0.3 so if you have mods such as EQS, recent apps, etc., they will likely get overwritten. Many of these icons are embedded in the same files as the mods.
Wow that looks awesome... downloading now

Just a heads up, flashing this mod breaks the EQS mod. A simple reflash of EQS brings it back but no more colorful signal icons.

clickclick has PMs regarding this... with alternatives... fyi for anyone else. this will break EQS.. currently. happy to help if needed
Hey guys,
If anyone needs additional icons created or tweaked, let me know and I'll see what I can do. I cannot promise anything but I do enjoy this type of stuff so long as people appreciate it.
Regarding EQS, it's true that this theme will overwrite the EQS settings. Between Homeslice and I, we'll come up with some alternatives.
Give us a little time to work this one out.
Edit: Attached is GSLEON3 EQS V1 themed with my icons. Credit goes to GSLEON3 for his rendition of EQS. In fact, the CWM zip script and text is even the exact same one from GSLEON3. I only added the graphics.

SG,
Did you want EQS or non-EQS with the Verizon LTE icons? I used them before AT&T had their LTE but the Verizon ones aren't as colorful. In any case, I'll see what I can do.

Interesting. I gave it another go with the same file I downloaded and it worked like a charm that time. Very clean design.
Personally I would like to see a blue design. But I think this is great. Great job, click. And by the way, I'm not sure what the EQS is.

Glad it worked out. I think the 3rd time is a charm but if you got it just after the 2nd, that's even better. By the way, EQS is Extended Quick Settings, which when flashed overwrites the data icons. I also contemplated a blue theme for the signal bars but haven't decided to theme that one yet. The blue theme idea came up after AT&T released their LTE logo, which is based upon blue and orange. Maybe down the road I'll put something together in blue at which point, I'll let folks know.
This is a new skin I just finished.... Flat Black & Gray !!!!
This will work with all roms running Sense 3.6....
Sense 3.6 Flat Black & Gray Skin
I realise I'm probably being dense here... But how do I install this?
I've downloaded the apk to my SD card, then installed it using a file manager, when I go to the 'Personalize' menu, I select 'Display' then 'Skin' but I can't see the Black_Grey skin there?
I've looked under 'Scene' but can't see it there either.
I've tried turning the 'phone off and on again, but still can't see it.
Do I need a third party theme manager? Do I need to have rooted my 'phone? I'm running the original, unrooted, unmolested ICS release.
The theme looks very good by the way!
Sorry. I know I'm probably asking very silly questions and I apologise in advance...

I am not sure, I have heard this from a couple of people... I have also heard a few things it could possibly be, wrong screen resolution, or wrong version code??? I don't know, I have an evo 3D so I can't test it on any other phone, but in most cases it should work on a phone with sense 3.6 sorry again you could not get it to work. Anyone else having the issue of the skin not showing?

Unlike some others. I don't redirect your question and offer you something you didn't ask for. I give you what you ask for or don't comment. Here it is - works fine on my Vivid with ICS aside from animations not working and the background of the details screen slightly off. I'll get around to fixing that.

So how do you get it? I had it before when I upgraded OTA to ICS but lost it when I had to reset the phone and do a clean install of ICS. My wife's phone is still on gingerbread and I can get it on her phone, if I knew where and what to look for I could try moving it over to mine.
It hapened the same with my Desire S. I would like to restore the HTC battery widget, I liked it in GB and I want to keep it in ICS.
Can anyone help?

Yeah, I would like to know where to get one too. In the taskbar, there's a percentage in the actual battery.
I belive the ICS update also replaced Sense 3.0 with v3.6, which doesn't have the clock widget. You can try Battery Guru on Google Play.
I just had a thought, I may be far off but it's a little idea.
What if we aren't REALLY running ics on the vivid. It's crazy, i know, but what if the vivid's ics port is actually 2.3 with enhancements to mimic ics. Other areas on the phone were sloppily updated, the lock-screen is still the sense 3 version and it doesn't match up with the rest of 3.6.
Also, its been stated that sense 4 is not possible on the vivid as a stock rom, again this is an ics thing.
What if htc wasn't able to crack the in call mic and had to use their own framework, then decided to screw us over more?
Well, that's just my little conspiracy.
No its real ics. How can you tell? "android is upgrading" for one thing, gingerbread doesn't do that. Also chrome, apex, nova, and holo launcher hd all work and they are only supported on ics and up. Finally the new ui for all the Google apps.
