If your getting stuck at the waiting for device, then u havent done the update first at step 1.
The HTC Dev part is solely down to you..
Firstly plug your phone into the computer and select charge option.
When u Goto htcdev, sign in. Select salsa from phone. Now it will ask you to update the hboot, do this. Don't skip it. Once updtaed then Goto step 8 and get the token code.

well find the post that helped and hit the thanks button lol
glad to be of service
I tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742379
in command prompt on windows: adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2
worked for me, without having root. This command "pm setInstallLocation 2" sets the default install location to the SD-Card. You can move some more programs like Whatsapp ... to SD-Card (no system apps) and it saves some MB of internal storage.
There are only some problems when plugging your phone to USB as mass storage or sync ( e.g. don't move HTC Sync to SD-Card, it crashes when you want to sync ) .
By doing this u create a problem....no access to USB mode is making the phone useless lol what would be the point?

No, you didn't read it right!
I only said that moving the HTC Sync app to SD makes no sense. Using an application from SD card is not possible only in this case, when you use your phone as mass storage or sync because the SD card is unmounted from Android. I don't see
Other problems I don't have with this method. The rest of my phone still can be used. I have 24 of 30 apps on SD card and have 38 MB free internal space since weeks.
Trust me, I am an engineer.
Why would u move a system app that's important to the running to sd anyway lol.
Things you push to SD are non system applications. If you move things like sync/market and other big memory apps to SD, u cause so many issues Inc fcs and system failures.
I run 1.2gb internal memory, still able to use SD card at anytime in anyway.
Non of my apps use SD card due to failures on loading while USB mode is active. Like external SMS apps etc.

I have made a small utility that will install CWR on the LG thrill. Untested on the optimus 3D....
Thanks to designgears for outlining the original procedure in this tread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257588
WARNING:
Your warranty is now void.
I take no responsibility for bricked, dead, or unresponsive phones. If you are uncomfortable using this tool, then DON'T. Furthermore, I created this utility for my phone, and decided to share it with the community.
This utility was coded in c# in a windows 7 environment. I can only speak to this working on windows 7. If it works on XP, great; but I only tested it on my windows 7 system. Confirmed working in XP by: gentzleon
Before you begin:
Phone must be rooted!!! Look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1251663
Must have an SD card in the phone.(This is used for the storage of the recovery backup)
Drivers MUST be installed! ( Direct Link: Here)
Instructions:
1). Plug phone into computer via USB cable.
2). Turn on USB Debugging mode
3). Launch 1click_CRW with admin privilages (right click->run as Administrator)
4). Enjoy
Notice
Because people have different computer speeds and the fact I wrote this in 10 minutes, there is a pause between each command. Just click 'ok' when the popup messages says waiting.....Its fool proof.
ALSO: I did not put any error checking in it because I did not feel the need. I created this for fun and decided to share it.
If you see an error from ADB like no devices found, make sure your drivers are installed and restart the computer.

Sure no prob at all.
This installed cwr just fine but when i try to make a backup or install a new rom it says error cannot mount sd card does anyone know y this would happen
Freaking sweet. I was hoping to find something easier to do this with that having to go through the other method to flash GB Roms. That is what this is for right?
All those having problems installing, make sure all your permissions to /data are checked-(all 9) if not you will not be able to install recovery...
To set permissions you must;
Have root explorer or the free app ES file explorer.
---Navigate to /data and press and hold
---Select properties
---you will see at the bottome where it says permissions an option to change
--- Select change and make sure all are checked.,
---click out, reboot phone and it should all work..
There have been instances where the folder will change back permissions or not save the new permissions so just perform it again... Enjoy the 1 click CWM Now If this could be included in the script it will make it fool proof.....

I think I may change this app and create it in a windows form...I will have a button that follows the same procedure as it does now, and a second button to fix permissions..However, should I have it apply the permission change to the entire /data? Seems unsafe to me, but I'm paranoid.
Also, work has been long, and my wife and I are in the final process of buying a new house. So that is why I haven't been on much.
Figured it out thanks for this tool

So I have the GT-S5830, and I have some pitiful 8MB of internal storage left. To fix this it appears I have to root the phone (to get all the junk pre-installs out of there); however every way I'v tried has resulted in the installation itself being successful, but still not root access. I'v tried several methods including the main guide in the development section of the forum.
It's an Australian phone, locked with Optus, Android version 2.3.6
Baseband V. - S5830XWKT3
Build Num. - GINGERBREAD.XWKT7
Would anyone know what I could be doing wrong; or even better write an idiot-proof guide which should work?
Thank you in advance
Not quite sure here but in order to root you need to have more than 8mb of storage as rooting installs Busybox,SuperUser etc. You need more storage mate. Try deleting some stuff you don't need or use and try again.
Edit: I heard somewhere that in order to install an app you need to have TWICE the amount of storage as the app takes up. E.g. App is 10mb then you need 20mb free. Never had low storage so I'm not sure how true this is.

Thanks mate. Superuser and the testing app usually install fine (well their icon is there and they run fine), it's just that they don't do anything because I still don't have root access.
However I will do it again with more space (I don't know what i'll delete, pretty much everything is pre-installed bloat) and if that works I'll let you know.

Hi there,
I´m about to cry myself to bed tonight Just came home from vacation with my family and by accident I deleted the folder with ALL photos and videos I have taken..
So I have tried everything now to recover my files without any luck. I´m using a rooted HTC One (M7) with Trickdroid 5.6.0 and ClockworkMod 6.0.3.1. I found some recovery software for pc but the phone needs to be in USB mass storage mode in order for the recoverysoftware to work. But it is not possible to choose that mode in Trickdroid 5.6.
I triede to finde some UMS enabler on Playstore and also tried to use adb shell /system/bin/sdutil ums enable without any luck. I get an /system/bin/sh: sdutil not found message and now I´m tired and out of ideas.
Do you guys know any solution or workaround on how to fix this ?
Thanks in advance.

Take backup before doing this. all apps installed after this will go to SD card
1. Get the Google Android SDK
- Unzip the file and place the folder onto your desktop or anywhere that can be easily accessed.
- find the platform tools folder (default, it should be : adt-bundle/sdk)
2. - Open the folder called " platform-tools"
- shift+right-click anywhere inside the folder and choose [Open Command Window Here]
3. Go onto your Android phone and select USB debugging
- Go to [System settings > Developer Options] and select USB Debugging (if the option is grayed out, unplug your phone first)
4. Enter in the following
adb devices
adb shell pm set-install-location 2
adb shell pm get-install-location
5. - if you did it right, the last output should say: 2 [external]

Hi, Rolled back to 8.1 didn't use backup from onedrive. Unselected automatically install (app) updates as part of re instillation. Installed Windows Insider. Had a look as Storage Sense and there was about 1.2Gb free on phone storage. Checked for phone update, found update and started to install. It froze at 60% when it gave me the warning about low storage space on my phone. Went to storage space and moved all apps to SD card that I could (facebook, lumia help and tips, Lumia creative studio and some others). I left the phone for a few minutes and it had an error message saying it needed about 900Mb or was it 750Mb? for the install. So I had a look at the storage and it said I had about 600Mb free. In the mean time it started the install process again and now it has stopped at 50% and the phone storage is 0MB
When I select phone in Storage sense apps and games takes up 241Mb, email and messaging takes up 65Mb and system 3.39GB (this values are with the installer still stuck at 50%)
*Update* The installer has stopped again and it now says I need 1.17Gb of space and to go to storage sense to clean up some space. Going to storage sense it says there is 893MB free there is 241MB of apps and games (none of which I can select) 65Mb of email and messaging and system is 2.47GB
*Update* Ran it again in any case got much closer this time got to about 95% before running out of space. Went to storage sense and emails selected my hotmail account and deselected sync. Now free space is 995Mb apps 241Mb email 64Mb and system 2.72Gb. Should have checked before selecting not to sync emails but I didn't.
Ran installer again after this and installer gets stuck at 1% of preparing to install before it jumps to 94% when it runs out of space on the phone.
Looks like a reboot and maybe a "reset your phone". Though that will be tomorrow time to go to be

The problem is not solved but they are asking for our help to understand the problem at the site I mentioned before.
I succesfully installed 10136 by doing interop unlock and deleted some language files in Windows folder. I'm going to try this again today (flashed 8.1 because needed rock stable device for few days) so i can write more details here.
I think the problem with this update is that Microsoft this time forgot to ship WP8.1 Update 2 which has support of SD update.

How easy is it to do the inerop unlock and then delete the language files?
Interop http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...-vcreg-lumia-reg-editor-live-interop-t3135326
Just plugging phone with unlocked FS to computer and delete Phone\Windows\Packages\DsmFiles\*Lang_**-**.dsm.xml (of course leaving the language you're gonna use) and next do hard reset. In storage sense my system after that takes 2.04 GB. But by doing that yesterday I broke Windows Update. I believe I accidentally deleted some other file. I'm going to do more experiments tonight and update this post.

Not difficult at all if you'll do everything correctly. The tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...-vcreg-lumia-reg-editor-live-interop-t3135326
The most difficult part is to get developer unlock, but it seems that Microsoft gives everyone an unlock for two apps, which is more than enough to interop unlock the phone.
Good news people i have windows 10 build 10149 on my lumia 530!!!
HOW: just following the tutorial for unlocked FS http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...-vcreg-lumia-reg-editor-live-interop-t3135326
Use a Application Deployment 8.1
http://www72.zippyshare.com/v/59098969/file.html
to deployed CustomWPSystem_0600.xap
Connect the phone to the PC and go to data/programs/windowsapps and delete:
-zune music
-zune video
-podcast
-batterysaver
-calendar
Don't worry they install again after update(event they are not same apps ).
Then go to date and change to 20128 for example.
Delete all settings that can to uninstall
After all that must there is 1.6x GB free phone memory.
Good luck !!
Sorry for my bad english !
angelspid,
I tried to follow your guide, but it fails when I try to delete the folders you mention saying that the storage is write-protected. Any ideas?
Yes, unlock FS.

I did that, but will try again
I'm having the same problem (using windows 10 on my computer) It says the storage is write protected when I try to delete the directories.
I have applied the FS unlock (to my understanding if I hadn't done the FS unlock I wouldn't be able to see the files in the first place)
Also when I unlocked the FS. I clicked on live full FS Access. do I also need to click on live interlop/capability unlock?
Tried that no difference.
Seems to be actually deleting almost everything just not the directory itself so maybe you do get the space even though you get the error. Unfortunately I must leave the house now. be back later today.
i just following the tutorial and connect the phone with pc and yes click to interlop/capability unlock and live full FS access and restart the phone then.
@shmaun
With vcREG read this key
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\FileSystem]
"ExFatDisableReadOnlyMount"
if value is 0 write 1 and reboot your phone
yeah, if going to delete this folders of apps inside have a folder that is write-protected just skipped and continue i maked that
