INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Copy zip to sdcard
2. Go into ClockWorkMod recovery (or based on CWM)
3. Flash zip
4. Reboot

Change files name from
"bootanimation_HDPI.zip" to "bootanimation.zip"
"bootanimation_MDPI.zip" to "bootanimation.zip"
"bootanimation_XHDPI.zip" to "bootanimation.zip"
and place under /system/media/
XDA upload system has limit regarding individual file types. I could not upload bootanimation.zip for XHDPI devices, so here is the link:

Hi,
this bootanimation is really nice!
Unfortunately my system is that much unbloated that it starts within 5 seconds and there is not enough time to see it completely

Thats cool man I'm glad someone liked it so much to port it for LDPI devices. I was considering this in the first place, but droped the idea.
Just one thing - if you post your port somewhere please have in mind placing also a link to original, or/and my nick by the way, that would be great

One more request for XHDPI and I'll make one. Thing is that I must render the whole thing once more for that resolution, and my PC isn't really that fast :silly:
Love the boot animation. Doesnt completely fit my screen. Xhdpi would be great.

Just wondering, i also have a GT-I9000 and the boot animation is a little bit laggy. Is that normal?

Always create a Nandroid backup before just to be safe.
All boot animations were tested on my HTC Dream/G1 & should work on most hvga devices(320x480 screen resolution)
To install:
adb push C:\(file location)\bootanimation.zip /data/local/
or
place bootanimation.zip on root of sdcard
& in Terminal type:
su
cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
reboot

If you have the time and patience, maybe you could make a Motorola boot animation? The Galaxy S has its own boot animation and now I'm just using the Droid's Froyo boot animation. Stupid Moto.

Tested and working on mike1986's Android Revolution HD rom which can be found here. They should also work on other similarly structured roms or phones with 480x800 screen resolution.
The 4EXT themes are to be used on madmaxx82's brilliant 4EXTRecovery which can be found here. Should you want to uninstall any theme just flash this 4EXT Theme - Uninstaller in recovery.
To download click on the preview of your desired animation or theme and flash in recovery
If the flashable .zips are not compatible with your rom try manually extracting bootanimation.zip or downanimation.zip from the flashable archives and manually copying them over your original animation. Make sure to set the permissions as shown below.
To push the splash1.img use the executables (many thanks to roboprint for preparing these) which are provided in each .zip or alternatively, connect the phone in USB debug mode, go into the bootloader fastboot and type the follwing into cmd;

It's been my experience so far that they are of the same format. If anyone wants to correct me though they're more than welcome to If you switched bootanimation.zip to downanimation.zip and moved it from /data/local to /system/customize/resource it should work as you've said

I had a quick look in the Desire Themes and Apps forum and a lot of the splash and boot images that are floating around are 480 x 800 just like these!
If you're feeling adventurous safest bet would be to make a backup in recovery and experiment. I'm not familiar with the Desire ROM folder structure so I can't vouch for the flashable zips but if you extract the bootanimation.zip and downanimation.zip from the archives and place where your original ones are I don't see why they wouldn't work! Good luck

he_stheone64 has a Honeycomb theme which is far beyond anything I could achieve and might be of interest to you!

The screen is nice but a video should be better
I find it really nice (by the screenshots)! Although I personally don't use bootanimations larger than 1mb to make it boot faster and not make CPU work for nothing more than a bootanimation (can anyone prove me wrong about this, please?)

I edited your 800x1280 one into 768x1280 (i modified the picture resolutions and the text file inside).
Here is mine, tested and confirmed working on nexus 4. Rename to bootanimation.zip, put in /system/media and set permission to rw-r--r--
I also set the loop of part1 to infinity so that "3+" will rotate indefinitely until it booted.

Can I request a square resolution with pure black background? Just like the original CM bootanimation.zip?
Preferably 720x720...
Can this also be resized to 540x960? Would love to have this in the native res for my Sensation.

Try 800x1280 :good:
Geez, I don't want to sound demanding, but I am really excited for more resolutions. Your animation is better than and should be the stock CM animation. It jives really nicely with the CM theme. Nice work!

Pure black is WIP, but square version not. It's not a square image man.
Next version is 500hx800w resolution, without lost original size of the graphics, for more compatibility.

Download Zip file, put on your SD. With a filemanager open the zip, edit the desc.txt
from:

300 400 30
Set 300 to fit exactly!

Thanks anyways, I did it already. But editing manually in desc.txt makes the device boots without bootanimation so I did editing the desc.txt in bootanimation factory that I found here in xda and it worked.
Just tested this on my Nexus 10.
Works perfectly and is really smooth.
