there is a new ROM over on mydroidworld its by P3Droid and it has most of the stock blur removed..its pretty sweet if anyone wants to try it out..all credits go to the creater of the rom

This is a good rom for those that haven't already manually removed all of the bloatware themselves. Otherwise, nothing special. Atleast yet.

I never bothered upgrading to birdman since I had already removed most of the junk myself so it just didn't seem like a good enough reason to wipe. This rom on other hand does not require a wipe and it is nice to have the stock message app as well.
I updated to tranquility, because it was deodexed and I had not yet done that. Now I was able to use the black status bar with white text. No major differences from stock than that and removal of a lot of blur.

A lot of blur can be removed, you just have to have applications to take their places. And it has to be able to work without blur supporting it. That's what these ROMs are so far. They're either floating over blur or taking over certain components of it.
Most of us however are waiting for a vanilla build heh.

Yes it runs fine. The rom doesn't appear to be significantly faster...but that wasn't really the point anyway.

Not sure about you guys.. But I was having a lot of random reboots with this "rom". Went back to my own deodexed and bloat removed nandroid. Much faster. and much more stable now.

How strange I had the exact opposite problem. I haven't had a single reboot since installing this.

Developement app fixed (Terminal now included and fixed)
Calculater from source, (Just because I like source, the other worked fine)
Calendar updated (now it syncs with google calendars)

You can make nandroid backups available through CWM, check out designgear's thread
Edit: Oh yeah, and my suggestion for a ROM? I would love a ROM that comes debloated, deodexed and zip aligned (just for easier theming - that does make theming / sharing themes easier, right?), has the speed tweeks/optimizations available for the Optimus 3D, obviously AT&T radio, and if I can dream a little, several more preinstalled fonts, LP or a psuedo gingerbready launcher, and some light theming with some matching backgrounds* and a matching bootup animation. A kernel that allows for OC would be nice to have I guess, but I can't imagine using it to be honest; the battery life is so bad already.

If Possible and a big IF considering I have yet to see a device not HTC Branded that uses Sense but Would love to see a sense type Rom IF possible. Also would love an OC kernel considering battery isn't really an issue for me considering I am Always by a power source, that and I sit at home all day lol. Even if I didn't I would probably Underclock and Undervolt for battery Life than OC at night when I got home and wanted to do stuff on the phone.
I am looking through everything for the LG Optimus and I'm scouring the Texas Instruments site to see if I can find something there.

I think that was already responded to. But from my understanding its too much work so get a 3rd party app

i tried so many call recording app from the market, it did'nt work.
Call Recording has been added to a few of the O3D Roms so maybe ask the dev how he did it, shrug just an idea.

I was able to get it to work most of the way but missing the .dll file for the p925 instead of p920 and I can't get the stupid flashtool it provides to even startup on my pc. I'm on win 7. I'm going to harrass the hell out of LG and see if I can pull some kind of info from them
All credit goes to Nitroglycerine33, so if you like this, throw him a couple bones. He modified some files to make it work with the X2. I just extracted it from his Eclipse v7 ROM for the X2 and brought it here.
This will greatly increase your shutter speed and make your camera experience much better overall. I found the stock Bionic camera app to be garbage and was sick of waiting 15 seconds for it to focus.
I recommend using this with Gallery 3D. You can still view pics using the Blur gallery, but you won't have any options to share.
DIRECTIONS:
1) Using Root Explorer (or similar program) go to system/app and find blurcamera.apk. Mount system as R/W and rename app. I just added a .bak to the end so I could revert back if I wanted to.
***UPDATE--This is optional. Both cameras get separate icons (my reason for writing the original post as so) and now you can use stock for the FFC. Either way, Nitro said he'll get an update out soon. Maybe if you like this, you can find the thread here about getting him a Bionic. The man makes some stellar ROMs.
2) Download the attached .apk and move to system/app. Change permissions to:
XXO
XOO
XOO
3) Download Gallery 3D (if you wish) - Market link: Gallery 3D
4) Reboot and enjoy!
***You will lose your front facing camera option. I'm going to work on getting that fixed. Until then there is no known workaround.

That's what I'm using, and I have it working fine. Did you change the correct permissions?
As far as the camcorder - it's there, just doesn't have a dedicated shortcut. It's accessible from within the camera itself.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but it won't allow me to install the app. I tried installing before moving to system/app and after. Permissions good, blur camera renamed, but no luck. Any tips or am I the only one with this issue? Thanks!

Did you reboot after you made all of the changes?
No, bc when I try to install the new camera, it works for a second and then says "Application not Installed" Do I reboot before installing it?

Reread the directions. You shouldn't be installing anything. It is all renaming and moving system apps, then changing permissions. Once you do that, reboot and look in your app drawer.

Got it working. GREAT job...camera starts up and focuses literally 3-4 times faster than stock. That was the only real weak point of the phone in my opinion and you just fixed it!!

I love the camera...but didn't care for the video, so i reverted stock blurcamera.apk and now it pulls up the stock camcorder app wich i liked in the first place and clicking on the stock camera app brings up the miui so its a win win for me

I've been trying to record my phone calls. I don't need my responses mainly the person on the other end.
I've tried Total Call Recorder, and Call Recorder Pro but no luck.

My ME863 (aka XT860?) had built-in voice recorder in the dialer, it worked great. Though it might not have been fully legal in my country
Maybe find some way to get the ME863 dialer?
I did some searching and there is a Chinese rom that has a few more features than stock, including call recording. Im going to have to flash that. One issue is that its a more battery consuming rom.

That's probably the same ROM that I have, it has (among other things) built-in call recorder, Firewall (to block calls/sms), and FM Radio. I quite liked it actually, just wish the phone had more RAM and a bigger battery.

That's the one. Do you have the rom files still? The Chinese rom that's posted says it isn't for the XT862.

Nope, sorry, because I didn't install the ROM from anywhere. I bought the phone on the airport in Taiwan so it was stock ROM for me. I tried messing around with bootstrappers etc. and it's a bit screwed up now, no idea if I'd be able to extract something useful from it. I could try to export the Dialer application, but it might not work on the XT862

Sure, but I have no idea how risky this is, I guess better backup your phone or at least the current Dialer app first!!

Why don't you just try it yourself? It's not going to kill your phone, you can always revert back if you don't like it, so jusy try it if you are interested and report back with your findings instead of expecting someone else to do it for you.

Given that there is a thread in the "Themes and Apps" forum (where it SHOULD be) by babymatteo, this thread is redundant and pointless.
I wasn't being rude, but given how few people there are with this phone who actually participate in these forums, the only way to really find out is to try it yourself. If you spent any time reading the various 4X HD threads then you would see that whether apps and mods work or not depends hugely on what version and region of firmware people are running - so you would be relying on finding someone with exactly the same configuration as you in order to know if it works or not.
I plan to test this at some point - and will report back in the correct thread when I do - but don't have the time or inclination to do so right now.
These forums of ours desperately need a couple of active Moderators as there is no organisation or structure at the moment - people just post things wherever they feel like.

Follow babymatteo's instructions to install. When you copy the files over, make sure you rename the old ones first so that you can simply copy them back over if you need them later.
The setting of the camera is just as much an option megapixels, scenes and locations?
I flashed from cwm. I dont have old files. Now i have 2 camera and gallery.
Old ones work perf.

After taking some pics in speare the photo sphere. apk automatically closes. Anyone have same issue. I have 20E version from India
I've been looking for workaround's in getting this fully working with our phone. But nothing. I've already downloaded the Nexus 4's system dump and I'm still looking for possible libs and such that could help us get this working.
