I see you joined today
First of all read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1590266
Then go to this (you will find everything for our X8) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425240
When u read all this then read and download (easiest way to root your phone) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117100
and finally if you want ICS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225&highlight=bootloader
But be aware: Noone on XDA is responsible if you brick/destroy your device. Unlocking bootloader is one of the things that can kill your X8. So before unlocking pull of back cover and remove battery. Then see manufacturing date (example: 11W19). If its 11W28 or lower you can unlock it. If its 11W29 or higher dint unlock it as its 99% that you can kill your X8

[Q] Install gingerxperia on stock X8

Hi, i want to install gingerxperia (v25) on my absolutely stock x8 (android 2.1)
What do i have to do, step by step please.
As far as i know, i have to root it, then install cwm recovery (but i dont know how!), then flash nAa kernel v10 (i dont know where to download that) via flashtool (not sure how to flash the kernel) and then after all install gingerxperia via cwm recovery.......is that right (if yes, please tell me the exact way how i have to do these things.....also step by step please )
Thanks in advance
therefore there is a big button which says SEARCH and also a site which is called GOOGLE(search machines in general)
i know, i'm not stupid but i've allready looked for a tutorial or something, but i couldnt find one, and i dont want to brick/ruin my phone, so if you dont want to help me other than telling me to search for my self (which i already did), why do you even comment? I dont want to be rude but your comment seams a bit senseless to me and doesnt help me....
the reason why i ask this is that i really dont know and dont want to make a mistake and have a broken phone, for someone who knows how to do it, it wont be a problem to tell me step by step in a short way how to do it i think, and thats what i am asking for
Check the Rooting tutorial in XPERIA X8 Android Development then when you root ur x8 check the thread for xrecovery when u got rooted xperia whit recover pm me
Hit thanks if I helped!

Rom is a custom firmware for your phone...
Like the OS is for a pc,custom firmwares are like OS for a phone...
and in order to install a custom rom you need to root a phone and install recovery...
so you must start off with rooting...
I would suggest you to search youtube for detailed video instructions

What this guy mean is:are there any other way to know a date code beside look at under battery because for some reason, he just cant see it.
Btw,If ur phone dont die after u do it , i guest u have manage to unlocked ur bootloader.Use s1tool to make sure of it.

[Q] Xperia T help

Hi,
I have a Xperia T with bootloader unlocked (which removes warranty) and a custom rom, but I want to lock the bootloader again and go back to the stock ROM. I don't know which ROM it is because my friend did it all for me, but he is not my friend anymore and doesn't want to help me with my phone. I dont want the custom rom because i dont see any use to it and some things dont work like WhatsApp and the camera.
So my questions are: Can i go back to stock ROM, if so how?
Can i Re-lock the bootloader so my warranty will be back. Or at least a way to hide that i have had a custom rom?
Thanks in advance !!!
Mardinio

Then you got to be a bit more careful... :/ Did your freind not tell you that you would loose warranty?\
Just flash greg bradleys rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007736
Read the instructions for unlocked bootloader.. flash probs the advanced stock kernel... then his rom! it seems to be based off stock but a bit better! as i dont know if yo ucan go back to official stock sony or not sorry i dont even have the T yet im jsut basing off my experince from the x10
Flash kernel boot into cwm (pressing volume down repeatedly i think)
Flash the rom and reboot!
I take no resposibilty..

No he told me i could remove it. Also, do you lose warranty for physical damage? Like i have a case on my T but on the corners the matte is coming off a little? I dont know why i care for it very well!
I can't unlock my bootloader, sadly
Unfortunately, a lot of people are complaining about the matte finish peeling off. I for one have it on the lower left corner, and I really baby the phone. I don't even put it on hard surfaces but usually on a school workbook.
Anyway, you can find a lot of information in the following threads:
-All in one Q&A thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903137
-Matte coating peeling off: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2031472

I dont know how you can remove it... i dont think theres a way to relock bootloader as of now.. i could be worng though! Maybe check out s1tool or osmething google it! And no that issue has been reported its not your fault... if you cna get your bl relocked you can send it back to them for that damage \
Try this to relock bootloader.. but read the whole thread as idk what it could do to your device...
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_d8uWGbkaetaEhhd25JcjJMY2M/edit?pli=1
Again i take absolutley no repsobility here!
Thanks. Hopefully Sony will replace those devices.

Search for flashtool version 0.9.9.0 and download.
Download .ftf file of the firmware you want to flash and place it in flashtool firmware folder.
Start flashtool.exe and follow instructions. Leave all boxes ticked (wipe dalvik, user data, baseband etc)

Hi I don't understand do I have to make separate threads for each of my questions? Also, when you move the thread where does it go because I can't find it. How many times is the maximum for asking a question and how many threads can one open on 1 day.

You can open multiple question threads in Q&A section but if all your questions pertain to, in this case, flashing a ROM, a single thread should do.
Also, keep in mind that many of the members of this forum will not answer simple generic inquiries. It is up to you to search the forum to find the answers, if possible.
Thanks for responding. I have found a way to get back stock firmware.its via the official Sony flash tool. But when I try to hold down the volume down button I go into ROM manager cwm based recovery and then it doesn't recognize my phone. Please I don't know what to do. I have cyanogenmod paranoid android 2.56. I don't know what that means but maybe its useful

Read the all in one thread carefully. All you need to know is there. Yes I know it's a lot of info, but before you do anything you really should read it or else you might brick your phone if you flash the wrong stuff.

That method is easy. It even has numbered steps to follow, kind of like the ones they give children in kindergartens... If you had a problem with it, it would have been better to post it and ask for a solution to that; or google it... we are in 2014.
On a side note, if you update to FW: 9.1.A.1.140/142, or FW: 9.1.A.1.145, you might be able to use Doomlords Rooting Kit V17.

Yes of course if you follows it step by step its easy, but it's not really my point, when an abd shell does not do what you want you're stuck..
And yes i've seen that JB firmware arre easy to root but I came from JB and want to stay with ICS for better peformances
Now, I'm trying another ICS firmware for the V (LT25i_9.0.1.D.0.10_Nordic.ftf) because it sounds really easy to root
I'll post the results here , it could help many people
Thank you !

Yeah, but my point was, instead of just giving up, you could try figuring out why you're stuck with an "adb shell" that "does not do what you want"... and when finding what was holding you back, you could have posted the answers here for others to find. For instance, I know that if you don't enable USB debugging, adb won't work. I know this because I googled it, because either it's in the documentation, or someone else figured it out and posted it online...
Hi everybody
So I finally flash 9.0.1.D.0.10 kernel (ICS 4.0.4) , It's easiest to root it, with the TWRP Kernel !!
Thank you
