I'm using Nova launcher for 2-3 months,it's really fast and clear.

I can confirm that Apex Launcher is very smooth. It has many features and it's very fast without OC.

best launcher with LWs

I'm looking for the best and fastest launcher that Handel's live wallpapers really good, any idea of such a live wallpaper?
Take a look at LauncherPro. Very fast and very smooth.
Oh, and it's free from the Market.
I have it and its Smoooth with Static wallpapers but SLOW with Live wallpapers which is what im asking for..
It works flawlessly for me with Live Wallpapers.
Just tried it with every Live Wallpaper I have loaded on my device, and only one of them didn't work smoothly.... of course, I haven't been able to get that one to work with Froyo yet.
Is there a specific Live Wallpaper you're trying to use?
The stock froyo launcher is the best at handling LWPs IMO.. Launcher Pro becomes considerably less smooth when you're not using a static wallpaper. I'm using the Bezier live wall with the stock launcher and it's very smooth.

Yep, I don't use live wallpapers but when I swiped through the homescreen after flashing froyo (Default is a live wallpaper) it was silky smooth. You might want to wait till 2.2 is released to the masses.
I was trying Beautiful live weather but others are smooth now for some reason.. and The stock Froyo launcher isnt as smooth as Launcher Pro
Mine, and many of the current devs fav is the ADW Launcher
and the Helix Launcher
Both handle LWP well, and have some great custom options. Both devs are great examples of the great Android community. They each make a custom launcher, but they help each other out at the same time. They just want to make android better. Which is good for everyone.

No one is quite sure how the launcherpro dev got things so fast and so smooth. But we all love it and hope that he is kind enough to share his knowledge.

Launcher

hey all, I'm using the official but rooted 2.1 Eclair ROM, and i was previously using the latest 4.x Froyd Froyo rom, now i loved the launcher pro style launcher on there it was pretty awesome. Now my question is, can i replace the launcher on 2.1 but keep Sense UI? as in something like launcherpro but keeping sense
I've asked the question before on theming the launcher/ navbar but never got a response, as a themed navbar would better suit my needs! thanks in advance

I might misunderstand your question because how I see it it's a little (extremely) nooby
Anyways LauncherPro can be downloaded from the market
thanks for the quick reply
I'll try and explain in a little more detail. I LOVE how the launcher pro, ADW launcher etc, changes the look of the stock HTC Sense UI navbar, but i want to keep sense, whereas launcher pro etc removes it completely.
So im asking for a way to change the look of the sense launcher/ navbar, for example theming it, ive come across a transparent navbar, but thats not exactly what i was looking for

Well if you look under the theming section there are a lot of themes for FroydVillain. I know Ganii has ported a hell of a lot of themes and among those there's one called "BlackMod" which looks a lot like Sense The only downside is that you will lose your Sense widgets but there are seriously to many upsides of FroYo to think about that

[Q] MIUI Launcher over Cyanogen?

Is it possible to use the launcher from MIUI over Cyanongenmod 6.0? I really like the launcher but I like the features and smoothness of cyanogenmod. Maybe the lockscreen as well?
What hardware are using. I think there is something like that for Droid. I could be wrong. I haven't seen anything for Nexus though.
MIUI 0.9.30 - Its been good so far!
+1 for the lockscreen
That is true it will be the best rom if we can get miui,s launcher. Is there any way we can try that

[Q]ICS launcher for CM7?

i tried ICS launcher 2.4 and Phoenix launcher but is there any oficial launcher?

The best I found its called ICS 4.0 Launcher, there is a free version with less functionality or the ICS+ version by Syndicate apps in the market. Its not the most stable but I have used it for weeks at the time and its good enough. There are others by none of them come close to how much this launcher looks like the real deal, fonts and all.

Preferred Launcher for people running ICS builds?

For those who read this please quickly tell me what Launcher you prefer to use for your ICS rom whether on stock kernel or another custom. What tends to work best in terms of speed and stability?
I love Go Launcher but have now realized it is the most common culprit for eventual crashes and reboots after installing a lot of apps and getting up there in home screens and widgets...it apparently has its limits.
(Stock, Go Launcher, Launcher Pro, Nova are commons I've tried)
So, what's your Launcher and why? Appreciate your opinions and feedback!

I'm currently using Nemus Launcher. Nothing very flashy about it, but it's been really solid so far, and has a fairly small memory footprint.
You can color-code folders with it (if OCD is your friend), it has a scrolling dockbar, and it will highlight recently used apps in the app drawer as you scroll (although, I personally found it distracting and disabled it).
Apex then Nova
Apex has ability to make app drawer translucent
The only real way to know what you might like is to actually try it for yourself. I personally like ADW. I tried nova, apex, and trebuchet. They just weren't for me. Whats right for you? Only you can decide.

Yes I agree and have tried many all ready but in just the couple of posts already there are a couple more that I haven't heard of yet so that helps. More info is helpful and getting some advice on speed and stability can save me some time..
I'm now on my 4th or 5th launcher and still undecided...but it looks like I have a couple more to test.
Ultimately I'm looking for one that is stable on ICS when lots of apps, home screens and widgets are setup...this is where I'm having issues an most are crashing at a certain point.

Nova for me, has been the fastest and has enough features without compromising speed or stability.
Nova Prime animations and gestures are nice, also the ability to hide apps from drawer, if you don't need those features, the free version is great.
I just flashed ICS on my i896 Captivate Galaxy S and I miss my old Samsung Sense (with the pinch screen slection eyc).
Is there a launcher that most closely resembles that?
i also love adw ex launcher but as i have flashed fusion cm9 beta so to give it real ics feel am using apex lquncher and its preety good

I'm using ADW EX ani I have about 51 apps on my multiple screens, 4 Widgets and on SLIMICS with glitch kernel and never lag or crash.

Hello,
I have Apex 0.6 with CriskeloRom V1 Beta3 with 15 toggles.
Apex crashes when moving the web browser icon out the dock to the desktop (may be my install is wrong), but it is a nice looking launcher as well as Nova.
I used to use Nova with Team Rocket's and MidNote's
At this point i can't tell if these launchers are unstable or if it is linked to the beta rom's I tried (I would not downgrade to GB anyway ).
Loving the Go Launcher Ex I used on both stock GB and now Doc's Master ICS [Glitch kernel] W/ 50 icons across 3 screens plus 1 Fancy Widgets and 3 Widgetsoid widgets.
Nova bunched into 1 corner of my screeen and had an inconsistent look and feel. The Sony and TW4 that came with Doc's were slower than Go on ICS.
