im running froyo, UCKB2, and im rooted id just like to know how to get into Clockwork recovery cuz i havent been able to do what ever methods ive been seeing...please help
no i tried this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19425513&postcount=1
and i tried to flash but it doesnt work it restarts when it tries to flash and goes to some screen saying "devil kernel"...??????
That kernel (devil kernel) is for ICS not Froyo...If u cannot just flash the kernel in TRusselo's Guide (the Speedmod kernel) then u will have to flash back to a Stock of ur choice and start over.
Once u get ur phone up and running again and get the correct kernel with the CWM Recovery flashed, just hold the Volume +&- and Power buttons all together until the phone reboots and u see the 1st at&t screen, Then release the buttons and ur phone should boot into cwm recovery.

Hi,
Its nothing to worry mother abdulsamad, its just a soft brick. Do a fresh ODIN install of stock rom or any custom rom, [ flash a custom kernel (as PDA in Odin) if u are flashing stock rom] and u will have CWM recovery. From there u will be able to restore ur previous nandroid backup(CWM back up). Pls make sure that ur back up and the new roms are the same version like 2.2, 2.3.2, 2.3.4, 2.3.5.
Here is a link with clear instructions. Another one for SimplyHoney rom(ODIN flashable)
Hope everything turns out fine. Good luck
Can you get into download mode? Volume down+home button +power button (at the same time)? if you can then i guess you can flash a stock ROM and try again (this) is your best friend
Thank u all it had been fixed ^___^

I had a stock I9000 with 2.3.4 XXJVQ. I rooted it with CF-ROOT 3.7 using these instructions: androidadvices.com/root-samsung-galaxy-gt-i9000-android-234-xxjvq-firmware/3/ and CF-Root-XX_UNK_JVQ-v3.7-CWM3RFS.tar and Odin3 v1.7 from the provided archive.
These worked all right and it also installed CWM 2.0
Then I downloaded CM7.1 stable from here: cyanogenmod.com/devices/samsung-galaxy-s and followed the instructions here to install: wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S:_Full_Update_Guide#Method_via_Recovery
I wiped the data, wiped the cache and then selected "Install zip from sdcard" and then I choose the CM7.1 zip file and after a few seconds the phone entered a reboot cycle. For a moment the Cyanomodgen logo and the Samsung logo appeared, then a few lines of text, and then it rebooted and did the same.
I've waited about 10 minutes and nothing changed, and then proceeded to install CF-ROOT again via Odin thinking that it would solve it and revert back to what I had. Boy, was I wrong! Now it just hangs on the Samsung logo screen.
The phone still enters Download mode, so from what I've read it's recoverable, but I'm kinda scared to try anything else without knowing for sure that it would work because I don't want to brick it harder.
Since I'm a new user, the forum won't let me link properly. Sorry.
Any advice? Thanks.

Can you get 3 button recovery again? If you can just reflash cm7
Instead of reflashing the kernel through Odin you should have taken out the battery. Then 3 button comboed back into recovery and reflashed cm7
If you can't get into recovery again reflash a stock rom with odin.. then a kernel then has cwm recovery.. reboot into recovery mode then flash cm7.. and if you get the same boot loop as before pull the battery, 3 button into recovery and flash cm7 again.. then you will be good to go

First time I entered CWM using the CWM app and selecting "reboot into CWM". Is there another combo besides home+vol down+power for dl mode?
Could you recomend a good stock ROM?
Thanks

volume up, home and power will give you recovery when your phone is turned off..
Any stock gingerbread will do when trying to go to cm7
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
The first time you flash CM7, you might need to flash it twice. AKA
1) Flash once
2) Reboot. Now you are stuck in bootloop.
3) Pull battery. Go into recovery mode again
4) Flash cm7 again
5) Should boot normally now.
It's a common occurrence.
Oops beat me to it
It doesn't go into recovery anymore (home+vol up+power). I'll try to flash a stock ROM with Odin and see how it goes.
Edit1:
For people having this problem. I've flashed using the ROM and instructions here:
androidadvices.com/update-samsung-galaxy-i9000-official-gingerbread-235-xfjva-firmware/2/
This is 2.3.5 XXJVT
Edit2:
I've went to this thread:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
and got the proper CF-ROOT for XXJVT and flashed it with Odin3 v1.7
Edit3:
I've installed CM7.1 using the instructions linked in the first post and everything worked out fine. Thanks everybody.

hi everyone, my problem is that I was trying to instal ClockWorkMod recovery to my CAPTIVATE with Odin3. [Android + SLP], and it looks like i¨ve put an incorrect version of CWM to my captivate, first of all when I turn on the phone the AT&T screen appears, then, a SAMSUNG GT i9000 comes! when actually what I have is a CAPTIVATE. Second of all when I go to recovery mode, the letters are GREEN, and is suppose to be BLUE,
and the version of CWM is ¨Clockworkmod Recovery v2.5.1.0 SpeedMod Kernel¨....now I can not go into DOWNLOADING MODE to put the right version of CWM. i´ve tried all ways to get into Downloading mode, and nothing works, because soon as I put the battery back to the phone it gets ON and there´s no time to try any of the Bottom combos (combinations). I hope you guys help me, thanks!!
That cwm is fine to use to flash ur Rom of choice. U may need the gb bootloaders though, depending on what u wanna flash.

ok, what I want to flash is a new ROM, this one: WeUI_v1.0_by_NightShack0 , im going to use another phone to put the rom in the SD card to try if I can flash the Rom with this CWM.
I am on clean note V4. Everything was working fine until I shut my phone down yesterday and now it's stuck on the android boot screen.
I flashed netcore 12 kernel with pc odin but it won't boot into recovery when i press vol down + power.
i even tried flashing abyss kernel and it is just stuck on the samsung i9220 screen.
i also tried flashing in the newest speedmod and it wont' get past the samsung screen (not the black and white factory img screen).
So basically, i can get the phone into download mode no problem, flash any kernel with pc odin. But it will not boot PAST the Android/Samsung boot screen.
Any help is appreciated...
Is there a way to flash one of the ICS roms with PC odin? I can only find .zip files from the threads.

What were you on before flashing the kernel?
My guess is that you'll have to Odin back to stock KK4, flash Corn Kernel and get back to your ROM as per their FULL instructions.

Semaphore kernel has recovery, you should be able to just flash over corn back to semaphore. I flashed a gb kernel over semaphore by accident (fat fingers and not paying attention). All I did was reflash semaphore and wiped caches and all was well. Hope it works out for you!!:fingers-crossed:

I was on stock rom and stock karnel... i flashed the kernal using odin, before that i tried to get in to recovery via a market app "rom manager" booted in to recovery just fine (with very limited recovery options though) i rebooted my phone (it rebooted just fine) and while on stock rom i turn off the phone and turn it back on then it got stuck 1st on at&t screen then on galaxy s screen, then i installed the corn karnal now its not stucking on at&t screen but stucking on corn karnal screen every time and not going onwards...
set is going into download mod and going in to old recovery as well by key combinations but the recovery can't detect the external sd card! thats y i though that semaphore karnel has advance recovery so i could try that!
if there is any way you can tell if i could put the zip rom in internal sd card please do let me know... that would be a thunder help!

When you say stock, which stock are you talking about? Froyo or GB? (2.2 and 2.3.5)
If your phone doesn't get pass the boot screens, you'll need to use Odin KK4 to bring it back. That being said, if you're on 2.2, you'll need to flash the bootloaders, if on 2.3.5, don't flash the bootloaders version.
From there, flash Corn kernel, get in recovery and flash the ROM you want to use.
Btw download mode is vol down + power.

Flashing bootloaders is dangerous and if already on GB (2.3), he doesn't need to reflash them. Therefor, avoiding any chance of hard-bricking.
