Hi, i have been working on this for a little while, since the Galaxy Nexus ROM was leaked I'm working on this
Many features are not working at this point, I'm using FOP Nightly 5 kernel as a base for the ROM
Not working:
Google Now (working on this)
Camera (will wait until FOP solve it, to update the kernel)
2/3G (same thing as FOP)
Browser (any browser) keep force closing
Play Store partially working (sometimes FC, some times you cant download any app, it's totally random)
it's very slow the ROM
Expandable Notifications are not working (can't figure out why o.o phone reboots when you try to)
Features:
Added power control widgets to notifications
Some CyanogenMod stuff (many of them are not working but appear on menu)
As you can see this isn't even close to stable, I'll post a download link when the ROM is stable enough to get some testers
Some Screenshots:
Seems like the Screenshots cant be shown ._.
here are the screenshots on imageshack

Wow, you should talk to FOP team and see what they have to say about the idea of porting 4.1 to OB. Otherwise, I will stay tuned and it's fun to see that someone started the Jelly Bean train
Awesome work...
But... First ICS, it´s more important in this moment, and make a stable Jelly Bean for our OB is almost impossible
After we(FOP) make a ICS stable i´ll work on jelly bean.

I think we will start working on Jelly Bean after we got a stable version of ICS. Port wont work perfectly now, maybe when CM start working on Jelly bean we can compile it from source and then, just then, we can make an acceptable version.

Will 4.1 be even compatible with OB hardware? Hopefully it is..

I guess it is, on many things it is similar to ICS, except about the fact that it was modified internally to make it more smooth (irony)
anyways, I will continue working on it, but maybe the reason of having so many bugs is that is not compatible
Thats great. Hopefully after ICS is stable, 4.1 will be on the way. Better to have one at a time i think. Great days for our OB!

It´s not easy port roms... especially jelly bean when is not any sources out and devices that have jelly bean have a totally diferent hardware.

If you wait a little bit i'll prove you that this real, just wait until the ROM is a little more stable, with the actual state of the ROM, there is no point of sharing it, it's way too slow and very unstable, with random reboots all of the time and FCs and I dont want other devs touching my ROM

Well, Google has announced an incremental update to Ice Cream Sandwich, called Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and it's Phone and tablet UI like ICS.
Little info here.
http://developer.android.com/about/versions/jelly-bean.html
So, it's using ICS and Honeycomb driver model, but there are other things like the so-called "LAG free" that seems to be a real change inside android, but I think devs will get a workaround. So, is possible to port this new update?

Maybe, hope that ...
Right now we still haven't stable Cyanogenmod 9 (ICS),
But I think if we -hope soon, then we could have a stable Cyanogenmod 10 (Jelly Bean) .. What ????!!!! Cyanogenmod 10 !! looks good
Thanks for news
Best Regards
Seems it's not a bug update..close to ics, so just might happen.
Don't forget about hardware limitation.
We won't get all the features from Jelly Bean. Even ICS, we won't.
I think CM9 is already a magical ROM coming for us.
To have a Jelly Bean, it's quadratic magic! lol.
Let's hope we have CM9 without bugs and then AOKP too.
For now, it's more logical.
We have not got ICS till yet and you are talking about jelly bean
Still a long way to go
Real Contributors Dont BeG for Thanks

Like I knew somebody is going to ask is somebody going to port JB to our device... it does not give us THAT much improvements to spend time on development.
And, what everybody said above, even ICS is not usable (no camera, lack of RAM, lots of bugs). Luckily, i'm happy with my Gingerbread CM7.2, and i'm just watching the situation closely
ICS CM9 Camera?
Can someone tell me whether Camera is working on the most recent CM9 ROM (GalaxyICS) for Galaxy mini.
I heard that Camera is somewhat working and we may have a working Camera in the next release. Is this true, someone give some info on this, please.

We already have a working camera in the new upcoming cm 9
Then there will be bug updates though fm radio has a long way to go but stock ics can still get a radio so we can hope cm 10 or jelly bean to start by next year minimum, and cheers.

Don't get over-excited guys, ics barely works on gmini right now due to low ram *edit* low EVERYTHING, and I assume that jellybean will simply be more resource-demanding, so just pull your horses until we get properly working ics m'kay? To be honest, I don't believe that we will ever get cm9/ics as stable as cm7, simply due to hardware limitations of galaxy mini.
Next year this phone will be the worstest of the worst... cmon, 600MHz processor in 2013?
Forget about Jelly Bean, we still have bugs in ****ing gingerbread (camera orientation), ICS is not stable enough too...
it is possible to make a buggy android 4.1 port from gnexus ...
but i dont think that that will be cool xD

Galaxy Nexus is ARMv7. Just wait for the source.
Question first...Why port something we know won't ever be able to run stable on our device because we don't have drivers which is kept close sourced?
And also that drivers just can't be compiled as with happened to the Adreno200 drivers for ICS to armv6.
You need to rewrite the whole code, possibly even write new code to drivers for our device. And I doubt the people who make these drivers and publish these sort of stuff want to spend any extra work on trying to make it work on our devices.
We'll be stuck with Gingerbread guys. End of story.
No, JB is a "small" update. Drives from ICS will work fine on JB. So, it may even be a little faster. Anyway, I will try to build it when source comes out.
sry not the kernel, it needs to be modded -.-

Lol, show me one advanced user that still has HTC Dream as his main phone? After all it has 528 MHz CPU (slow POS just like our mini), and has been released 2 years (or more?) earlier than Galaxy mini - how can you compare that?
And.. why would one buy an HTC - they are so ****ing complicate to flash - HBOOT, fastboot, bootloader downgrade, firmware downgrade, using the command prompt in windows - nothing here on Samsung
Hello everybody. I want to ask our developers, will we get Android 4.1? If not - why, if yes - when? Thanks for answers .

there won't be fully working ics/jb because no one willing to re-write damn codecs... y'all have fully working cm7, be happy with that, or buy yourself nexus s or one x, which have ics from the start. Peoples! Stop dreaming and expecting wonders from heavily outdated phone!
Maybe the devs will do something, if the rest of the people is willing to wait!
AOKP build with modified libstagefrighthw.so can play 720p @ ~10 (maybe more) fps, HQ youtube works ( as testers reported ). If AntiBillOS will give permissions camera will be working with 3rd party apps too. So... it's not so impossible after all.
Ok, so camera will work, but only ON HACKS. That's great, really. How about stability of os? :>

ok, but the question is not if they can, because it's obvious that galaxy mini is able to run ics/jb, the question is: can it be runned smoothly on low end phone? and i'm only guessing that the answer is no, because of extremely low specs (compared to other phones nowaday) of galaxy mini
I have read that JellyBean uses a new kind of engine that keeps the Galaxy Nexus very fast!
So, does this mean, when Jellybean is ported to Galaxy Mini, the phone's performance will increase?
:good:
Jellybean includes "Project Butter", which makes the whole experience, well, butter-smooth.
When ported, it should normally be as smooth on any other phone.

And i guess JB will have to use the same drivers that had to be used in ICS.
So, We will have to wait for someone to develop something similar to the OMX drivers..

Hey guys, just out of curiosity, will we ever get Jellybean ported to the Captivate? If so how long does this process normally take?
Sorry I have no idea how these things work, not being impatient, just wondering.
Thanks
If you want it that bad, the TAJB port for I9000 works fine on our phone with the latest Devil Kernel
It's a slightly long process to get everything(SMS+phone) to work
1: clear dalvik, normal cache, and wipe data
2: flash TAJB .45
3: flash devil Kernel
4: search through thread and flash test modem for phone calls and SMS
5: place the audio_policy.conf from the nexus s port into the system/etc/ folder

There's another thread discussing Jelly Bean for Captivate. You might want to check that one. It doesn't have any firm timeframes for any of the ROMs to release a 4.1 version, but it does confirm that they're working on it.
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775373, it works fine for me. Only things that do not work - Camera and Sound notifications. Otherwise, it is pretty awesome.

Can't seem to get my Data to connect. Won't save any apn's I add to it to connect. That's ridiculous. I noticed an amazing jump in smoothness from the latest CM9 nightly to the V2 of the Jelly Bean ROM and if it's only gonna get better, I can't wait to see how fast it gets. Still very, very minor bugs that barely affect functionality at all, but man is it fast!

Dear,
I am developing only the FlymeOS for i9000 at now ; soon i will developing a Custom Rom with 4.0.4 base...
You can really forget JB Roms , the one good JB for i9000 is only 4.1.2 ; you can forget JB 4.2.1 and 4.2.2
They are quite fast at beginning , but you will notice how lazy they are going to be ..
I highly recommend ICS roms , because they are really fast and they haven't bugs.
There are some apps that are only avalible for Android 4.0+ (like Nova Launcher) , and so I really can't see that ICS is outdated.
Thats why i only develop and port roms for ICS on i9000 device.

Yup, agreed here. Don't get us (or at least me) wrong, 4.2.2 is fantastic. But ICS is rock stable in just about eery aspect and 4.1.2 is pretty damn good as well if you still want to consider Jelly Bean.
Although @UnlimitedRom, you have to admit Google Now is pretty neat
A lot of JB apks can be pushed manually or installed normally on ICS roms anyway.. Just that ICs roms in general are less customiseable than JB roms.
By the way, FlymeOS is looking goooood

Yeah, when google released 4.2 I don't really see the point of it except for some nicer animations or not so important functions.

But yeah, 4.0.4 is a really good base for the I9000. Smooth, stable but not too taxing for the processor at all (not to mention some pretty good battery life, daaaaaaamn)

Yeah, when google released 4.2 I don't really see the point of it except for some nicer animations or not so important functions.
I was shocked at the sheer number of JB roms for this phone at first because on my previous experiences, JB don't work really well on single core phones
I'd give JB a try first and if it's really bad I would try out the rom of yours, it looks great

Yeah, agreed. The JB roms optimised for gaming work decently- although that's HEAVILY optimised and debloated to give as quick an experience as possible. But it's an OS optimised mostly for dual cores and above. There are very few single-core devices- if at all- that run 4.1 officially, and for pretty damn good reason. Only one I can think of is the Nexus S (Nexus version of the Galaxy S, bearing in mind), and even then 4.2 was dropped for that device. So while its still possible to have Jelly Bean fully functional, at the end of the day...
