Thanks I feel stupid posting this before coffee..
I assume everyone knows that the "Phone UI" mostly applies to the launcher. Everything else remains in tablet mode, with the typical fragmented layout. I'm not quite sure why this has been grinding everyone's gears, but other than the fact that the launcher currently cannot rotate, this is not really a big deal.

The notification bar takes up precious screen real estate, when it could easily be in the navigation bar.
Google could have picked almost any term for the new UI, and it would have been better than "Fragmented Layout".
Can just see the blog comments: "Don't buy a Nexus - it has a fragmented layout".

Yeah, please continue all further discussion there.
Also, in future, please start question threads in the Q&A section.

Hey, is there a system tray mod that displays currently running programs?
Such as tomtom displays an icon in the system tray when running in the background, whereas i want all currently running software to do that.
Is there a registry edit/ software that does that?
I looked all over the forums for a good hour and couldnt find anything in peticular that does that.
FOUND A BETTER ONE!!

Plus it looks like he has plenty of time on his calendar after Bones and before physics.
I'm a pretty dilligent scheduler myself, but I have yet to schedule time to watch TV.

I'm running a ROmwhich has the honeycomb icon layout. I find it terrible. It's so hard to find anything, it looks cluttered and confusing... Is there a way to get it to list things as a grid instead?
Yes there is a app available that will show everything in a list, unfortunately I can't remember the name but you should be able to find it via the search option.
I'm also desperately looking to disable the HoneyComb effect... I hear the economy is bad and some jobs need to be lost. I'd start with whoever came up with that.

I've searched and I can't find anything. It's possibly the worst idea Microsoft have come up with since that ridiculous paperclip. It's a mess.
I'm going back to 6.1 until one of the rom wizards finds a fix for it. Unless this thread comes up with one.
BubbleComb
Variation of HoneyComb...
This is my BubbleComb.

I will be posting a new one in that thread in a few minutes once i get landscape fixed
I second the OP question regarding the return to the simple grid system. A list is good, but not as good

then maybe you should include screenshots of them lol
I had to post a pic of this. My first attempt at customizing through my own resources and taste.
This also got me wondering about FancyWidget and us being able to post links for "re-skinned" versions. I'm no dev, nor am I educated on the matter of pulled apps/legalities. I just made a bunch of variations of the last build I could find before it was pulled.

Nicely done, I like the look of it. Is the center icon (nexus boot pic for applications drawer?) animated or static?
I like the icons on the bottom, they give the screen a crisp look (though I think they clash with the nexus boot pic.
I modded my fanncy widget...
This is what I'm running now.

I am looking for one that has something like speed, direction, weather on the left and then icons a bit to the right maybe mixed with something like next launcher which I really like. So show off your home screens if you don't mind!!
Though not "themed" really, here's my home screen. I'd be interested in seeing others; it's a cool way to discover new apps and widgets I may not have seen.

Nova. I've edited my post to include ROM, launcher, and widget info and I'd encourage others to do the same in this thread.
I'm looking as well, currently using klwp. Music widget is a dbk komponent, rest is simple overlays. Left circle is speed, right time. Rest self explanatory, killer app though. I'm working on animations and new ideas, look forward to more replies.
Coudu ROM, few xposed tweaks, next launcher.
