Hi all;
Yesterday I've mounted CWM and Cianogenmod 7 for the S5830. After that, make a partition on my 8GB SD and install several applications.
All was working correctly until it give a fail accesing history file of whatsapp. The problem was with the SD card that not respond. Try to mount in other Ace and say me that it was damaged. Tried to format, but no answer.
As I have no other SD card, downloaded a stock firmware an use Odin to flash the stock firmware, but Odin began to download the MIBIB and this it's all. It don't pass from here.
After that, when I try to boot it only appears a image with a phone in one side an exclamation sign inside a yellow triangle and a computer on the othe side.
Tried to boot in recovery mode get the same image.
It only boot in downloading mode and in ram dump mode.
I've tried to flash with odin the CWM again but it get stucked.
Tried to connect to Kies but it get connecting forever.
Tried to find a message in the forums about this image with the exclamation sign but I've not found anything about it.
Someone who know how to recover it, please ?
Thanks in advance.
Force into download mode and reflash with odin.
Turn off phone, remove battery, hold three buttons combination for download mode (home+vol down+power), and while u still holding those three buttons reinsert the battery. The yellow exclamation mark between a pc and a phone wont appear, instead u should get into download mode now.
Connect usb with pc and flash with odin.
WOW! Thanks, thanks and thanks again. I've tried several times to flash again with odin but always it stalled at MIBIB part.
I don't know what is the difference between 'insert battery and then push the buttons to force download mode' and the method you say me of push first the buttons and then insert the battery, but it seems it has worked perfectly.
It downloaded correctly the stock rom and after it I was able to reset the cache and boot it again normally.
Many thanks again.

Put the phone back into download mode and flash with another firmware and Odin 1.0
I just had the same problem, took out the battery, restarted into download mode and updated successfully using kies.
i cant get into download mode, i have only been albe to do that through ADB. And when i plug my SGS into my pc nothing happens, it just has the same picture on the phone...
It seems your phone is stuck in download mode:
- remove phone from pc
- restart odin
- mark reboot phone
- connect phone
- if the com port shows up you can hit "start"
hope this works
When this this advice from the (also) Austrian Guy don't help but the Batterie out and wait 10 Seconds.. And then go back to download mode should help..
It's probably bricked like mine, I mean, if you were unable to access download mode with the button combination (Vol-/Home/Power) and you only had access to download mode with adb. I just sent mine to repair today.
My recommendation to everyone is that NEVER flash your phone if you are unable to access download mode with the button combination as it will be rather hard to adb reboot it again to download mode if you don't have access with adb to it
Probably someone comes to say that "I have flashed many times with adb reboot download method and my phone is still fine" but even so, it is not safe to do that.
A couple of days ago I rooted my phone, and now my phone is stuck on "Galaxy S GT-I9000" boot screen, stays on that screen for about a minute, and restarts, and gets to the same "Galaxy S GT-I9000" screen. It loops forever, until I take out the battery.
I cant get the phone in recovery mode, I cant enter download mode, and the phone isn`t recognised by the pc, it only charges when connected to a pc with usb.
I`ve tried two different computers, no good.
Odin don`t find the phone, so flash is out of the question I guess. Any help here, is it possible to fix?
Thanks in advance

Download mode recovery jig .
Need to access download recovery or take phone to a service centre as first step .
jje
Is the only way to make a jig or to send it to service?
Unless you can put a file on the phone by some other means and then enter recover mode .
Recover mode install file transferred from PC and install .
Odin access download mode and install firmware from PC .
Or Harry Potter Mode .
jje
Can I use the sd card and use recovery mode from that? I mean, can I transfer som files to the sd card, insert that in the phone and enter recovery mode or download mode?
Just asking
You say you can not get to download mode or recovery mode .
If the phone was bootable then you can put files on external sd card copy them in phone to internal sd card .
Reasonably certain that recovery has no option to use external card as source .

You pressend volume down button and Power button to get into download mode?
If this does not work: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
If you get into this mode, please have a look on this post:

Ok, then the only option is to send the phone to Samsung for repairs, incredibly boring.
I can not understand why I can`t get into recovery mode or the download mode, 3-button combination did work the other day, but now it no longer works.

You can - you need a special USB plug, just read my post above yours
I do know about the usb jig, I guess that is my only option.
Well, thanks for helping out
I had been using my Captivate for a while, and used Kies mini to upgrade to Froyo, and everything had been working fine until randomly the phone wouldn't boot.
It would take forever to go from the AT&T home screen, and would lag through the galaxy s intro, and then stop.
I tried to use Recovery mode, and it didn't work, so I tried to use Odin3 to flash back to stock.
Now it won't go past the Logo screen, and recovery mode doesn't work, but download mode still does. I have tried Odin one click, and Odin three click v 1.0, 1.3, and 1.7. I've used the .tar and the .pit from Breakin' Ranh's [Guide] How to Recover a Captivate to Stock 2.1 Eclair JH7
It keeps getting stuck in a boot loop after odin, no matter what I do.
Any suggestions?
Using SGH-i897
1007
first boot takes along time to build new files and delvik.. are you sure you waited long enough?
keep trying to get into recovery. try holding the buttons a little after the screen comes on.
factory wipe/ clear phone/
It keeps going to the AT&T logo screen for like 10 seconds, and then goes to the spinning wheel/battery charging screen, and then reboots.
Can't get into recovery mode through it, still.
a different .tar package.... dunno about that one..
or flash to 2.2 tar package
I have to use rom manager to get to recovery on my captivate
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
I was able to use a dragon rom to get it to boot, but now my phone wont give me any access to my internal sd card, and won't mount my external, so I can't download rom manager because I "have no room" Where do I go from here?
I've already tried formatting both cards, and it seems like nothing happens whenever I click on format.
you dont need rom manager....ever
Then what does he need?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA Premium App
stuck in the same position
I can get into download mode (only with a JIG tho) but when I go back to stock with Odin (or try to) it's just stuck in the AT & T logo screen, it doesn't go beyond that, how do I get into recovery mode, press both Volume buttons and Power button, when the AT&T screen comes release the Power button right?
Need some help please!
you might need to flash the 3 button fix but keep trying, if you get into recovery clear data and cache. but first boot always takes a long time as it has to build delvak cache and more... try flashing again, with the 3 button fix att rom.
3 button fix? to get into download mode you mean? I CAN get into download mode (with the jig) but not into recovery mode :-s
I have no idea how to flash it without being in the Stock rom, any help?
download is 2 buttons
recovery is 3 button.
some phones loose the 3 button combo to get into recovery.
in that case you need to flash the stock rom with 3 button fix.
it is for Att only so i dont know much more.
After Odin, I was in a boot loop yesterday. I plan on writing it up in a new thread to see if someone can help me understand what happened (cause I have Odined and modded two different cappys without issue) but here is how I was able to recover.
After Odin was complete and said successful, it reboots the phone.
Upon reboot I was in the ATT boot loop. After Odin, I lost both three button recovery and 2 button download (both of these worked before Odin). I don’t have a JIG so no way of getting to download mode.
I read to try the following sequence after reading it other posts.
1. Pull battery, sim, SD card and unplug the USB. Let it sit for a minute.
2. Plug in the USB cable.
3. Holding all three buttons, plug in the battery.
4. The battery charge (grey) should be seen on the phone. After the phone screen goes black twice let go of the power button.
This worked for me once, after several attempts.
Now that the phone booted back up, I did a master clear with Odin.
Upon reboot right back in to the ATT boot loop screen.
Was not having any luck with the steps above after several attempts.
Here is how I eventually recovered.
1. I opened Odin on the PC.
2. Pulled the battery and USB for a minute or two then replaced it and plugged in the USB cable.
3. After few cycles of black battery icon and spinning wheel, the batter icon turned green (like normal when you turn your phone off and plug it in). Sometimes this only took two cycles and sometimes many cycles (or a few minutes).
4. Once the battery icon was green, I hit the power button.
5. As soon as you see the ATT screen, pull the USB cable and the phone booted (if I left the USB plugged in, the phone went back to the black battery screen after the ATT screen).
6. I copied the correct Update.zip and Rom to my SD card.
From here I tried to boot into recovery via ADB.
The phone rebooted but back into the ATT boot loop.
Following the second set of steps above (2-3 times), I was finally able to get into Clockwork recovery.
From here I flashed Phoenix Unleashed.
After the flash rebooted and the phone seems to be running fine now (with the exception that I lost my 3 and 2 button combos, but that will be for a different thread).
From the Power Menu, I can get into download mode or Recovery no prob.
Not sure if this is something that will work for others but wanted to throw it out there just in case.
It never booted for me, so this is what I did
For anoyone that might find this thread, Odin 1 Click didn't work for me, so I flashed back into stock using Odin (not the 1 click version, another one), here are some links that proved to be very helpful (I ended up Flashing to Serependity 6.4):

FIXED:
Used this version of Odin to get me into recovery mode:
http://www.multiupload.com/PM9TNZWL84
Once I got that, I realized my internal SD card wasn't mounting properly, and used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10056254&postcount=36
this thread to finish flashing back to stock.
Trying to avoid buying a new phone to replace my really slow bionic by flashing the rom. I screwed up somewhere (maybe several somewheres). Anyway, where I am now is: I installed TWRP 2.6.0.0 installed (with SafeStrap 3.11). I created a Titanium backup and then tried to flash Flying Jelly 1.1 without wiping the stock slot. It was downhill from there. Right now, when I power up, if I go straight to boot, after the Motorola M, the screen goes dark with a glowing backlight and stays that way. If I go into SafeStrap/TWRP, I get all the right options. I tried Factory Reset, it completes almost immediately and nothing changes (still hangs in boot). I tried Install to flash stock 4.1.2 but that didn't work. I tried using RSD Lite but if I plug in (USB) and let it go through boot, when it hangs, USB communication doesn't work. I tried RSD Lite in SafeStrap with USB mounted but that doesn't work either. I can still get to the internal storage in SafeStrap (and have saved a copy to my pc). Is there anything else I can do before I surrender and toss the phone?
Have you tried manual install though stock recovery?
It's equivalent to fastboot FXZ, but you install via ext_sd card rather than usb cable.
You get into the stock recovery similar way as fastboot, but you choose revoery instead of fastboot.
You'll need a different zip to install by sd that's different from the FXZ file.

I too have a similar issue..I was running Blurred effects JB ROM and it was giving me issues. I took out the battery and put it back in. It loaded this boot menu loader and I couldn't go back to my main JB system. So I deleted the system file that kept sending me to stock rom thinking it would send me back to my jelly bean side. Now it remains black... I can do the whole up/down vol keys but AP fastboot doesn't work. When I plug into my computer is like the phone doesnt connect. I go in device manager and nothing is there. I cant go to recovery either... it give me the android logo with a red caution sign. I cant do moto helper or RSD lite if the phone is not on the system

Are you saying that you can't get into AP fastboot mode, or that when you are in fastboot mode, your phone won't connect to your PC?
If you can't get into AP fastboot, take out your battery wait for 3 sec. Push all 3 buttons (pwr, vol up, vol down) all together then put the battery back.
As for recovery mode, once you get the robot with the caution sign, you need to press vol up/down together for the recovery menu to show up.
You might have to do it a few time before it shows up.

Hi,
First time working with a samsung phone, so im not very used to some samsung realted soft.
I'm doing a favor to a friend, he came to this problem where his phone woudnt boot up, He says one day he run out of battery and coudl never turn it on again.
when i turn it on, it gets stucked at boot image (first attached image), if i try to charge the battery image appears but with the loading logo (the loading logo is not moving), he told me that he also tried with another battery and the same appeared.
For what i've read there is a download mode besides recovery mode. I think i have no problem entering download mode (3rd pic), even though i don't know how to use it, pressing a button does nothing, and pluggin it to a pc (drivers installed it) seems the same.
So i wanted to enter recovery mode, and trying o factory reset it, but when i try to enter most of times nothing happens, the others i get weird screen like the one i attached.
I'm not pretty sure how to preceed now. The only thing that appears to be working is the download mode. If that's the case, how can i flahs the stock firmware on it?
Thanks for reading!

You would do the same thing as if it were custom firmware, goto http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/, and download the stock firmware compatible with the device
Enter the device in download mode and flash the stock firmware with Odin
Instructions by SamMobile self:
Extract (unzip) the firmware file
Download Odin v3.09
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Reboot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minute

thanks for the reply, i think i might be doing something wrong, ODIN failed, i attach a screenshot, any idea?
I cannot tell much from the screenshot to be honest, all i can point at would be a newer version of Odin as the instructions told: [LINK TO ODIN 3.09]

Same error as before
im downloading some other firmwares to try, but i dont think there is the problem :s
I've been having this issue for months now. It does that exact thing. Try removing the SIM card and starting the phone as normal and see what happens. If it starts then, we have the exact problem. Mine works perfectly WITHOUT the SIM card but....what's a phone without a SIM card right? I've tried putting the Stock ROM on to no avail as well. I think my thread about this is still somewhere around but I doubt anyone managed to solve the problem either.
If you do work something out post it back. Sorry I couldn't be much help.
