Hi guys,
My question is quite simple: How to the softkey buttons on the latest CM9 nightly?
I already found a tutorial on youtube which told me to decompile the framework-res.apk and edit some lines.
Alrighty, so I followed this tutorial and got a whole bunch of errors while recompiling the framework-res.
I've tried, I can't figure out how to get those softkeys working.
I hope you guys can help me out.
I just dont think its included in the kernel yet.. That is if you mean the backlit menu and back buttons. Its strange cos it was included in their pre release way back in january

I mean the bottom soft key bar like the Nexus has. With the recent apps, home, back button and possibly search button aswell. Tutorial says to edit the line show-navigationbar or something like that, and the line is there.. but doing that gives alot of errors while recompiling framework-res, and it doesn't make a new apk

i am not using CM9, i might be able to help if you upload your framework-res.apk here(if it is allowed).
i tried once, the menu looks a little misalign, so i reverted back.

Im unable to do a transparent notification "slide one not the bar". I've done it with my old X. But now I can't on the new one. I've deoxed and did that ultimate service.jar fix and still nothing. I've done adb push and terminal but I can't seem to make it work. I've seem that 928 theme but I like the way mine is right now. Does anyone have a service.jar file or anything? Im running out of ideas on what to do. Any help would be appreciated.
I've also tried ninja morph.

Hey guys. I'm new to XDA and cannot post in his ROM-Thread but I read here for over half a year now, so I'm not a complete noob.
So, my question is: Is there any way to disable Volume Wake in Nik's We_Want_ICS v3? cause since I flashed v3 my phone keeps pocket dialing all the time. It's like it has his own life now. Can sb help me?
Not sure how to defeat volume on but why not just install an app like call confirm so that you have to confirm if you want to make a call or not.Sorry not a direct answer to your question.

you have to unpack android.policy.jar file then baksmali classes.dex and edit a keygaurd file and remove the lines that has 0x18 and 0x19 and re-create the classes.dex and the android.policy.jar. Search the internet there are several places that explain how to do this. One such forum is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1668052

think your all missing the point he wants to disable Volume Wake he dont want it back on lol instead on deleting the lines 0x18 and 0x19 u need to add them that way your phone wont unlock in your pocket do as said above with the guide but add the line dont delete them ( correct me if im wrong but he says it like he dont want volume to wake he wants it gone )
Thank you all. I will try as soon as I get time for it. And yes I want to disable them

Sry dude, you're in the wrong thread. I don't know exactly what widgets they are, cause I didn't found the right post again, but I'm pretty sure they were mostly 1x1 toggles for profile, bluetooth and stuff like that. The battery tweaks are included in the ROM - you won't find any settings for it

There is a simple method: you can replace android.policy.jar from V2 and reboot, then you can close the Volume Wake, but this action will disable Advanced Power Menu.
Hi, I recently installed this rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2055481) on my GTS5570, and runs smoothly y extremely great, but the navbar hides part of the keyboard and it's monsterly huge, so I'm looking for a way of disabling it, if it's possible

Not tried the ROM but this way are working on ICS, JB 4.1, and JB 4.2
1. Open build.prop
2. Add these lines "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1" (without quotes)
3. Reboot
delete launch2.apk and add other launcher that navbar will hide and camera will show images,
you'll only need a camera.apk , i am searching about this now

okay, I have to delete launch2.apk with rom installed, right? I tried to delete it and put another launcher on .zip, but it kept failing all the time trying to install. Strange thing, never had that problem with the tablet. (Maybe the script install every file one by one?)
EDIT: This is disturbing... I fixed the problem with the soft buttons, but even with that, my locales appear messed up (power off appears like reboot, reboot like sound options... and wherever I try to make a call o answer one, FC on phone.apk) (can't post yet on ROM's topic, this is anooying)
R: [Q] [4.0.4] Disabling bottom navigation bar
just go to system folder and open build.prop with root explorer (hold pressed on the file and select open with text editor) and add qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 at the last line(press enter to make a new one)

The thing is that nearly everything works, only truble I have is with the locales on the shutdown menu and that phone.apk doesn't work.
Maybe I'll do that thing, use TheWhisp's CM9 until this gets very stable, 'cause this is really promising

Well, I'll do a nandroid and try new version, I hope this release fix the phone.apk problem and the locales (I've been thinking, and maybe the problem is that Spanish locales are not correctly implemented, or my Galaxy Mini is completely insane.
Since KITKAT is released everyone want to install it
But due to some reasons we dont have CM11
So I an presenting a MOD which will give your phone KITKAT look............
This mod can be used on other devices also...
Just push the system ui in system and add the following lines in build.prop
"##Navbar
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0"
Remove that "
If you are using the device having similar size to L3 then u have to resize navbar
So follow the given steps
Step1: Take framework-res.apk from the rom on which u are going to use this mod
Step2: Decompile it.
Step3: Navigate to res>values>dimens
Step4: Find navbar height & change the value from 48 to 36
Step5:Save,recompile & push in system.............

I made this for me but I thought why not share. I enabled data toggle for quick settings. Just flash zip and profit.
Any other toggles you may want just post request.Flashlight requires xml editing which I really dont want to do,so i might not get around to enabling this. If you like my work please give thanks.Enjoy. If you press reset in toggles you will need to reinstall this mod.
How are these .Zip files flashed since it can't be done through stock recovery. Through "Flash gordon"? Is that the most stable way?

Sorry to ask this, but does this work on the note 3 4.4.2?
And has anyone tried using flash Gordon to flash this? Does it work?
Possible flashlight toggle solution?

Hey @blaz1nr I found this thread in the Sprint Galaxy S III forum about modding SystemUI.apk and SecSettings.apk for the purpose of creating a flashlight toggle for quick settings. It's sprinkled with S4 and S5 users who (if I read correctly) had various levels of success.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617552&highlight=decompile
Anyway, I've been trying my hand at modding system apk's lately (I edited one of the xml files in PopupuiReceiver.apk to disable those annoying battery cover notifications), and I wanted to give this a shot because I'd really like a flashlight toggle in the drop down menu. Unfortunately every time I try to decompile either SystemUI.apk and SecSettings.apk, the directories and files I'm supposed to be working on aren't showing up. I've decompiled/recompiled successfully before, and now I've tried virtuous ten studio, apk-multi-tool, and apktool, and every time I have this problem decompiling. So what I'm trying to say is I'd be happy to try my hand at doing the xml editing for you, I just can't seem to completely decompile the apps in question. So either someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong decompiling these apk's (I've searched everywhere and none of the supposed fixes have changed anything) or even better, if someone wants to decompile those apk's themselves and share with me, I'll get to work ASAP. Or if I'm wrong/being a stupid n00b, etc. let me know. For anyone else interested, these two apk's are in system/priv-app, not system/app (I had trouble finding them at first, because, again, n00b).
TLDR: Help me decompile these apk's or do it for me and send me the files, and maybe I can make us a dropdown flashlight toggle
Update: I got the directories and files I needed and I've been able to edit everything, but there's a new twist. I had to deodex SystemUI.apk and SecSettings.apk using Universal Deodexer, in order to access those elusive files and directories. I'm getting compile errors when I try to recompile, and even if it did compile successfully, I have no freakin' clue how much I could potentially screw up the phone by replacing the regular old apk files with the deodexed ones I created. There's a plethora of information and guides on deodexing apks, but not so much support on odexing them (re-odexing them?). I feel like I might be close to getting this working, but if anyone out there has this knowledge and/or is as fixated as I am on a drop-down flashlight toggle, help would be appreciated.
Got it working. I was being an idiot n00b and forgot the relatively minor step of de-odexing my stock rom. Once that was done it was as easy as following the directions on that thread I linked to. The actual LED light lagged like crazy the first time I actually tried the new toggle, but since then it's been smooth and instantaneous. Hope this helps someone
Worked as a charm. Thank you!
Comfirmed worked on NH3 !
