Hi everyone,
I read on other forums that the Optimus 4X bootloader is locked!
means it will be impossible to make the root or something needs to unlock it and then make the root?
Very interesting information, so does have Optimus 4X really locked bootloader?
Or where do you read about it?
Thanks.
Yes, where did you read this?

Do you mean answer "yes" that Optimus 4X have locked bootloader or do you answering on the first question about root?

My question was whether the locked bootloader means that there will never be the root...
I understand, but my reaction was on the post from axepted, if he mented "yes" on the fact that the Optimus 4X have locked bootloader.
So, the question is still here: do Optimus 4X have a locked bootloader?
Even if it is locked, it doesn't mean root is impossible.
The HTC Sensation had a locked bootloader and we still got root

Me too wondering, where do you read nikokazaa that the bootloader is locked?
Because what I know only HTC is locking bootloaders and it was one of the main reasons to plan a buy of Optimus 4X for me.

A bootlocker will not say it isn't possible to root the phone.
My Asus transformer prime has bootlocker but I've rooted it. Just have to wait to someone find a solution.

Locked boot loader my man. We have root now. Root and safestrap are pretty recent, so that's why there are limited ROMs. We couldn't root for a while, but now we can, but only if you stay on ICS to root before upgrading to the leaked JB.

Another thing is that we only have 8Gb of internal storage, thus leaving little room for ROM slots on the internal sdcard using SS3 recovery.
I just finished an internal/external memory swap script in the DEV section, so this should help free up some space for ROMs.

You didn't loser bravia engine, but you did lose your drm keys, and this can be spotted real easy.
They just need to hookup your device with Emma and it will say if you still have drm keys, and thus unlocked the bootloader sometime in the past.
Drm keys are not recoverable.
Luckily here in the Netherlands they aren't that strict in bootloader unlock xD

Really !? I live in the Netherlands, The Hague, i bought my xperia T via marktplaats (you know what it is) The dude had it from T-mobile(saw the rom) And i unlocked bootloader and got CM10.1 on it, so where do i send it so they wont rage about it ?
I just locked it first and send it to T-Mobile itself since I have a contract with them.
After a month i got a new phone xD
But my case was a non working touchscreen (which I learned later was probably recoverable in another way)
But I don't know if your case will result in the same result ofcourse.

Depends!!
if you are just using it for normal use like phone calls, whatsapp etc..you can avoid it.
Having said that rooting your phone will open up a new world of access to you.
You can unlock your bootloader, flash new rom. but will void your warranty.

I wish people would stop perpetuating this stupid myth that unlocking your bootloader invalidates your warranty. It doesn't necessarily do so at all.
If you over-clock the CPUs and blow the phone up then you are unlikely to get help from LG, but if your screen falls there is no reason for them to refuse the repair.
It's all down to what you do with it and how you unlock. If the official method works then you are far more likely to get help than if you use the other methods and blow different fuses.
It also depends how you bought the phone and where you live.

Yes, it totally wipes all data on the phone, e.g contacts, messages, call history, apps and data, and everything which belongs to internal storage.
You should get a backup before you unlock your BL.
You should just unlock it if you wanna root, and be aware of its pros and cons
