Hello,
I am currently S-OFF downgraded by using the RUU to Sense 2.1 I believe. HBOOT is 1.13.
Now I want to install the rooted ICS but before that I noticed that I have to install Blackrose. I do not know how to install. I downloaded the zip and tried to run the file but I got a long message that said denied at the end. So the flash was not successfull. How do I install this.

I tried to install ICS ROM but unable to from the recovery. the rom gets installed but when pressing reboot now I just see the HTC screen and then the phone goes back to the recovery again. Same thing happened twice. I also notice one more thing, even after updating Hboot the recovery still displays Revolutionary recovery under recovery mode. Is this something that has gone wrong.

No, BlackRose only updated the HBOOT, not the recovery image.
The issue you have run into has been reported and I am working on it.

Ok then, I have restored by Backup. I am still on Blackrose but with Gingerbread 2.3.3. I will wait for you because I know that you will fix it very soon. Please let me know once you've fixed this so that I can update to the rooted ICS posted by you.
Also having issues trying to install blackrose.

I can't upgrade my Revolutionary Hboot to BlackRose either
Hi all,
I have successfully completed the S-Off process of my phone. The current Hboot is Revolutionary with S-OFF. I heard from the threat that we can upgrade this Hboot to BlackRose 2.02. However, I have tried to install BlackRose many times, It always shows the same problems (Permission Denied).
In order for you guys to understand what the problem is, I have attached the problem (cmd screen) in the doc file. Please kindly go to see it, and I hope you guys can offer solution as soon as possible.

Stuck on white screen
Hi friend.
I have successfully flashed ICS Rom (zip file) from my SD card few hours ago. It worked very well, and I could reboot my phone many times without any problems.
However, just now, i thought of that ROM (zip file) which is saved in my SD Card is quite big, i deleted that zip file. After that, when I reboot my phone, it stucks on the white screen with green HTC logo. Do you have any ideas why this happen? Is it because I deleted the ROM (zip file) from my SD card? (But I think it's not related)
Need your help urgently

1)Did you try wiping cache and delvik cache and flashing?
2)Try redownloading the ROM and doing a full wipe and flashing again.
3)What HBOOT version do you have? If you're on 1.16 you have to
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Heres a well written guide to help you

S-Off
do you have S-On or S-Off ?
you NEED S-Off !)
Hey I tried doing it. But I did not get proper guidelines. Whatever I got they were not exactly for 2.00.0000.
So I unlocked the boot loader using htcdev.com
But it shows S-On still on the boot screen.
Can you help me with the easiest way of doing S-OFF?

you don't exactly need s-off. granted you won't be able to install custom kennels and radios with s-on. I had s-on before and virtuous quatro worked flawless.

You guys can also use this PG32IMG.zip to get blackrose. Just place it on your sd card, boot in bootloader and just wait. Tell me if it works, don't have the device anymore.

Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
And how would I overwrite it with revolutionary hboot? Just install revolutionary?
Sent from my HTC Incredible S using xda premium
You can make the uninstall.bat work if you replace this line :
Code:
fastboot flash hboot_1.13.0000_CRC_8a731c6e_0401.img
with
Code:
fastboot flash hboot hboot_1.13.0000_CRC_8a731c6e_0401.img
If you can't boot to a ROM, you can just uninstall via fastboot :
Code:
fastboot oem mb 469010a0 16 0
fastboot oem mb 8d09fa58 1 30
fastboot flash hboot <path to any hboot.img>
fastboot reboot-bootloader
I would also recommend to use another new hboot because the one that is used when uninstalling is 1.13.0000 S-ON. Inferi0r posted some There. You can extract hboot.img from PG32IMG.zip
I haven't found how to uninstall directly the new version of BlackRose but I found that old version can overwrite new version.
So if you want to uninstall new version, install old version and then uninstall like explained before
nonverbose wrote a short guide for it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26909973&postcount=13
Files here.
You can overwrite HBOOT-2.00.0000 S-OFF Blackrose and HBOOT-2.02.0002 S-OFF Blackrose with HBOOT-6.13.1002 S-OFF Revolutionary. You can overwrite that HBOOT with HBOOT-6.13.1002 Revolutionary [Overwrite Protection REMOVAL] and then you can flash any stock HBOOT you want.
So there is always a way back.
Why are there threads everywhere of people wanting to uninstall it? I installed it a few days ago and everything seems to work just like it did previously with 6.13.1002. Am I missing something??

Bricked after uninstall?
Hi!
After uninstalling the Blackrose I got hboot 1.13 s-on.
The fact is that I can't launch the recovery and boot into the ROM.
Not sure what's happened. Everything was fine before that (4ext, s-off, custom rom).
Most of methods require adb (so the phone has to be booted to ROM).
Fastboot also fails to flash anything, obviously, cause it's s-on now.
Let me know if I can provide any useful info.
Any advice? Do I really own a brick now?

Now that you have lost S-OFF, you will not be able to use an unsigned PG32IMG.zip to update the radio and mainver.
You will have to wait until the official 4.10.405.x RUU for ICS/Sense 3.6 is available to download. At this point you will only be able to flash an official, signed HTC RUU/ROM and it needs to be version 4.10 or higher.
Thank you guys!

Nothing special. Please find details below.
I got Nik Aura Rebitth 3.0, 4ext recovery classic 2.2.7 rc5, s-off via Revolutionary (had to downgrade).
Then God knows why I decided to install blackrose (was not really going to install official ROM). Installed with no errors in log. After the reboot the phone displayed 4ext, and it was reinitializing again and again, weird. Then I hit blackrose_IS.exe /uninstall. And that's all. No ROM, no Recovery, hboot 1.13 s-on, mainver 4.10....

Original poster, did you get this to work ?
I am trying to downgrade from 2.02.0002 and get the following when running the RUU process:-
"THE ROM UPDATE UTILITY CANNOT UPDATE YOUR ANDROID PHONE"
"PLEASE GET THE CORRECT ROM UPDATE UTILITY AND TRY AGAIN"
I notice you are on 2.02.0002 the same, but the link to 'All in One Noob Guide For Downgrade and S Off' actually says 2.00 and not 2.02.
Just wondering if you got the same issue as me and the poster who mentioned the link didnt see you said 2.02.
Thanks
Regards
Nigel

I was working with a user this week that was trying to use the script to downgrade HBOOT 2.02.0002 and it appears that the tacoroot exploit to get temp root does not work on HBOOT 2.02.0002, so the script is unable to run misc_version to change the mainver value to 2.00.0000, so therefore it will not work at the moment for a stock, unrooted phone.
You would have to resort to unlocking the bootloader at HTCDEV.com, install a custom recovery and then root the ROM in order to use the downgrade and gain S-OFF.

Next step: I have used this post to flash the recovery and install the
su-3.0-efgh-signed.zip to gain the root access but S- remains ON

To flash recovery from 4ext recovery control, you need s-off. You will have to do the manual way, by entering this command 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img'.

Root doesn't change s-on/off status.

If you have HBOOT 2.02.0002 and you unlock using HTCDEV.com you will be able to:
1. Flash a custom recovery.
2. Once you have a custom recovery you will be able to:
A. Root your current ROM by installing SU-3.1.3.zip
B. Flash a custom, rooted ROM.
So I believe that should answer your questions. You may now exit the maze.

Yes, I install the WE WANT ICS v4 ROM and now I have the root permission
At this point, what mean S-ON / S-OFF and what permits?

S-ON/S-OFF is used to reference the Security flag setting in the phone. If you have Security Off, then you can flash almost everything to your phone, including a new radio.
With an unlocked bootloader like you have, you can flash some of the same items as S-OFF with the 2 biggest exceptions being:
1. You cannot flash a new radio.
2. The boot partition is not mounted as R/W when in Recovery mode, thus the reason you manually have to flash the boot.img while in FASTBOOT USB mode.
